Well, it is that time again where we discuss the midnight launches. Around half an hour ago, I got a SMS from EB Games at Watergardens in Taylors Lakes about the midnight launch of Pokemon Sun and Moon, which is 9:00pm this Thursday for a midnight launch. Now I won't be going to the launch because I am going out on Friday with my family, but I will go on the Saturday. So where are the launches where you live? And will you go to these launches?

Unfortunately I have a 6am shift on Friday morning, so I cannot attend the midnight launch at EB Games. I will however, obtain the games as soon as I finish my shift on Friday.

I have no idea. I am having my copies delivered so I expecting them on Friday.

Just found out about this via EB Games. There will be a launch at Federation Square in Melbourne (opposite Flinders Street station) from 9pm until midnight when people can start their adventures in Alola (EB Games Events Hub). A bit early for New Year's?

I've been pestering gamestop employees a couple of months back about midnight launch and they said there is no word from Nintendo yet. Finally, while I was sleeping around 6 PM last night (I work night shift), I got a call from Gamestop telling me about the launch and how much I still have to pay.

I don't know if anyone is aware of this yet, but Nintendo is raining fire down on the folks who pirated copies of Pokémon Sun Moon.
I found the info on the Nintendo Prime web site, in case any moderators want to look at the article and post it somewhere.

Kind of off topic here, but serve them right. I was really grateful for Kaphotics and other dataminers for the data they provided (a thousand thanks) but I really hate it when guys like Lurantis told people to spread the pirate version around. WTF??? And of course, all those people who upload the whole play through for youtube fame and to rub it in your face that they got to play it early.

I didn't post the link, because I didn't know if I should. But I can tell you that what Nintendo has done to them is lock them out of their own 2DS/3DS systems. They are talking about the fact that they are completely blocked from downloading & online game playing, and can't even get into the EShop anymore.

My gamestop has one.

I intend to go in, get my game, and then rush back home to get some S&M before the morning

Did they lock the specific 3ds or the gamer ID? Cuz if it's just a specific 3ds, they can just get another one.

Both, so they have to get a new 3DS and a new NNID and have lost everything that was connected to that NNID, including digital games and all Pokémon they had in Bank. For some this ban only lasts 15 days though, it's unknown who got the 15 days ban and who got the definite ban.

If people want to continue this discussion, please do so here: Generation VII confirmed! :)

On topic: my country very rarely has midnight releases and pretty much never in my area :( Not that I would be able to stay awake much longer than that to play anyway :P

Sorry, Soki.

On topic: I live in a dinky, rural town. We have an EB Games in the local mall, and a Game Stop in one of our smaller strip malls. This town is not the right town to live in if you're a Pokémon fan. They never have launch parties for anything Pokémon. :(

I was a bit shocked to find out my local GAME store were doing a midnight release for this. I ended up going and I was really surprised by how many people turned up for it. It was a lot of fun, and hearing people talking about this so openly and earnestly made me all fuzzy.
Nerds :3
