Not sure if someone posted about this before. I tried doing a search, but given the title, you can imagine the type of results I got! @_@

Anyways, yeah, SUPER EFFECTIVE is a webcomic drawn and written by Scott Ramsoomair, the creator of the ever popular VG Cats. It's pretty much a comedy parody of the FireRed/LeafGreen games. The only real problem is that it updates so infrequently. (The series has been running since April 08, but there are only thirty pages, with the most recent update going up last month.)

If you're interested, you can view the series here. Enjoy! :D

I still can't believe Red hasn't got passed Brock yet! Wonder what Scotts planning on getting him to catch to get passed him (nidoran male use to help me out in the originals or mankey in the remakes). Also was a suprise to see Green! (who will probably overtake poor Red very soon).

We had a thread on this a while ago, but it hadn't been updated in a while. So I guess this one isn't doing any harm.

I really like Super Effective, but I do wish it was updated more often than it is. Like others have said...Red hasn't even gotten his first badge yet. That's a problem.

Still, really great stuff.

My prediction for Red and Green meeting up is after Misty... so Green can go on and on about how easy Gym battles are with her Bulbasaur while poor Red has Charmander. :3

My favorite so far's easily the Missingno. comic.

I've been reading this since the first chapter, and was hooked. I was aware coming into it, that this series would be plagued with delays, I mean seriously, when was the last time he updated his own comic, VGCats? His recent strip for that one as of this post is a TF2 and IB joke, which I thought I was funny since I saw IB and play TF2. I'm aware that this guy has a life, and a job, and that these comics are more of a thing he does on the side.

But as for the recent comic, even though it is an old joke, I liked his usage of the "She's Ten" and Oak being freaked out by Green's dialogue.

It's okay, but I liked it a lot better before Green was introduced. The 1st Gen nostalgia factor was part of the enjoyment. It would be cool if he added more scenes with Missingno or other glitches/rumors, though.

I thought he threw the Gen I nostalgia factor out of the window within the first comic, IE the "Boy or Girl" joke. I think he might have admitted that in one of his site updates or on his forums.

Thought I read somewhere it was supposed to be based on the original, but he did draw them in the new outfits, so...eh, whatever. I still think it would be better that way. My favorite comic has got to be the "smell you later" part, though.

I loved the Pikachu one.

Holy crap! a wild Pikachu appeared!

Pokeball: x0

Red: O-o;

LOL

If it was based on the original, there wouldn't be a Green.

I meant months ago, before the new character was introduced. The original Vgcats forum topic (the idea thread?) seems to no longer exist so I can't look it up to confirm whether it was the artist or (more likely) someone else who said this, but I read it somewhere. All I have to say is that I liked it better without Green, no matter what version it is. 'Kay I'm out.

Wow, I can't believe this topic hasn't been covered prior to this thread. :O

As for my liking of the comic, it's humorous, but Green's sketch is a bit freaky, IMO. But I guess that's just me. As far as SE goes, it's a great comic, albeit a little slow on updates for my tastes. It's still worth its weight in laughs, though.

Even if he had originally planned it to be based on the GenI games, as someone already pointed out, that all pretty much went out the window after the very first strip with the whole "Boy or Girl" joke. What I don't get is why all the hate on Green? I mean, she's only been in two strips so far. (The second of which was just lulzy.) Give her a chance.
