Super Smash Bros. Brawl Speculation Thread

I'm suprised there isn't a topic like this here already.
SSBB is one of the most highly anticipated of the announced Wii titles.
It's the third in a bestselling series.
And it is going to rock.
As long as there's no Sonic. :-P
As the trailer at E3 showed us, Wario, Pit, Metaknight, Zero-Suit Samus, and Solid Snake will be in SSBB.
Now that Snake is in the game, this has fueled massive speculation regarding the possibility of third-party characters such as Sonic and Rayman being included.
In addition to character speculation, there's bound to be new items, trophies, fields, and moves for old characters.
So, let's SPECULATE!

My thoughts:
I'm an advocate of several characters getting in: Captain Olimar (Pikmin series), King Dedede (Kirby Series), Toad (Mario series), Ridley (Metroid series), and Meowth (Pokemon).
Let me give my reasons.
Captain Olimar:
Pikmin, while not a resounding success, was critically acclaimed, and revolutionary in gameplay and concept. As it has two games, and Olimar is the main protagonist of both, including him would be logical.
King Dedede: Sakurai's own creation. Also, both Kirby and Metaknight are in. Surely King Dedede deserves recognition, too.
Toad:
The last important Mario character without representation in Brawl. Has been in Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, and multiple other spin-off titles.
Meowth:
The other mascot of Pokemon. Has been in the show from Episode 2. Almost as popular in Japan as Pikachu. And wouldn't you love to play as him?
 
DARN!

The thread appears as "Super Smash Bros. Brawl.." on the main page, making me think this was a new video...

Korobooshi should be in it.
 
There were a couple of threads in May.

Brawl should include some 3rd and 4th-gen Pokémon if the Pokéball returns. I wonder how many from Melee will be in this one...
 
Lucario also seems likely, as he is one of the most whored Pokemon of DP.
 
I made this list before of characters I'd want to put (and other onese I saw people wanted to be put in to Smash Brothers, but to this day the main ones I want to get are Lucario, Barbra the bat, and Lethe from fire emblem.. Though I admit now, there are other characters I'd like to add too like Soren from FE and Combusken (who can change into Blaziken when a condition is met like samus.. being an elaborate Lucario clone)

Also, for 3rd parties go, my main pics are the Sega one (unfortunately I had to cut out my square-enix choices though for space). I'm a type of person that doesn't like random characters added, so if a character/move explanation is desired from a weird choice I'll explain.
 
I'm going to be a little different and list what I'd like to see in the returning characters:

Mario: I'd like to see him with his Super Mario Sunshine water pack.
Luigi: I think the guy could use something to differentiate himself from his older brother. Maybe he could get some of the specialized lightning attacks he had in his Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga?
Princess Peach: Super Princess Peach gives the Smash Bros. crew TONS to work with. She could have moves based on each one of her vibes (well, maybe not the calm vibe), an umbrella projectile attack, and she could have her little slide kick attack.
Pikachu: It should know Volt Tackle for the new Smash Brothers. And maybe a way to paralyze its opponents for a second or two.
Kirby: I don't have anything in mind for the character itself, but it would be cool to have a Kirby DS-type stage with rainbow platforms that are "drawn" and then subsequently disappearing during battle.
 
I think they could really do wonders with the new Pokemon. There's TONS of Hoenn Pokemon available, and also a couple dozen Shinou Pokemon.
 
They'll have all the Shinou Pokémon to work with since the game isn't released until next summer and D/P is released in two weeks.
 
Don't forget that Smash Brothers Melee didn't have any Ruby/Sapphire pokemon either, so any of those are up for grabs as well.
 
The dog from Duck Hunt should be in this game.

Also, the Regginator should be the ultra random secret character, like Mr. G&W was in SSBM.

No, the head made the list for most wanted characters, so it wouldn't be that much of a surprise now.

How bout Phoenix Wright or the doctor or nurse from Trauma Center?
 
I don't think enough attacks could be conceived for Pheonix Wright. Other than yelling "Objection" as he makes a direct hit.

It should be an item that, when you activate it, you aim the Wiimote at your opponent like the NES ray gun, and you try to shoot them ala Duck Hunt. If you shoot them down, the dog runs out, grabs your opponent and holds him/her in the air.
 
It would be cool to have the Master Chief from Halo, even if he is a third party character...
 
I'd kill to see Meowth as a playable...

Wasn't Deoxys a rumored character, at one point?

I'm not sure about that. It would be cool to have the Down+B move like Zelda's Transform, except you morph into a random deoxys form, each with it's own moveset.
 
Master Chief has no chance of getting in.
The reason is that it was stated that in order to appear in SSBB, a character had to have been on a Nintendo platform for at least one game.
Rayman, Sonic, and Megaman are the names most bandied about in talk of third-party characters.

True, that.
Meowth is awesome.
And would totally work.
Another criteria, I would assume, is whether the character would actually be feasible. To give an example: Bomberman is feasible, Phoenix Wright is not.
It's easy to see why.
While we're on that, Bomberman should totally get in, as a nod to the arcade games of yore.
And there should be a Tetris Stage. Because that would rock so much.
