I remember watching E3 on G4, and Satoru Iwata said that he had a team working on a Smash Bros. for the release of the Wii. I'm assuming most of you have or at least have played SSBM, which is awsome. My friend and I were thinking of some new characters they could or should put in. That's the main thing I'm concerned with, because I'm sure the music and everything will be excellent. Anyway, here are my suggestions for new characters.

Pokémon - Deoxys (transforming would be awsome), Lukario

Zelda - Cell-shaded Link/Zelda/Ganondorf (it would be cool if cell-shaded Zelda could transform into Tetra with a sword or something).

Metroid - Dark Samus, and possibly the six guys from Hunters.

Mario & Crew - Wario, Waluigi. I don't think Daisy's needed, as Peach has a color scheme exactly liker her's.

Donkey Kong - Diddy, Dixie (DK2), Kiddy (DK3), Tiny, Lanky, Chunky (DK64).

Fire Emblem - Eirika, Ephraim, Ike, possibly Eliwood, Lyn, Hector, and Lilina.

Star Fox - Crystal

Kirby - Maybe King Dedede or maybe some characters from that Kirby N64 game.

Animal Corssing - The male and female characters. That would be so cool to have a Smash Attack with an axe or something.

Kid Iccarus - Pit. He's cool.

Pikman - Captain Olamar and his brother Louie.

Aside from those, there a lot of Japanese-only Nintendo characters that I think might be cool.

I'm also thinking about what moves they might have on the new controller. It'd be cool to have multiple beam options for Samus, four Deoxys forms, and the DK crew being able to use their weapons in DK64. Ganondorf needs that sword and fight like he's not some souped-up verson of Captain Falcon.

As you might can tell, I'm a big fan of the game, and I think it'd be cool to hear what you all might think would make the Wii's release game incomparable.

This is supposed to be a launch game for the Wii, so I'm betting we will have screens of it by next week.

I think they need the Odama ball as a item. XD

I agree that some moves should be updated, along with other changes such as changing the appearance of Peach's umbrella to reflect her new DS game. Giving Ganondorf his swords from Wind Waker would also rock.

Pokémon: Keep the Pokéballs but makes changes to bring in 3rd and 4th generation Pokémon. Have a trainer as a playable character.
Mario: Replace Dr. Mario with Paper Mario.
Zelda: Keep both Links, but base Link on Twilight Princess and Young Link on Wind Waker.
Sonic: (Assumng Nintendo include this franchise, and there's nothing stopping them.) Bring in Sonic, Tails and Shadow.

I saw an official site on this, and they are making Deoxys a character.

Most legendaries (except for playable characters Mewtwo and Deoxys) are in the pokeballs, so this should be exciting.

There's already an official site? Can you provide a link?

I think the person is lying, never trust a guy named "-"

I can just see it--Giovanni smashing Mewtwo down.

Looking at the above, what I would really like are transformable Deoxys, Paper Mario, and the other hunters from Metroid Prime: Hunters.

Characters from other companies would be cool too. (I'm looking at you, Capcom. :p) Heck, Sega, Square Enix, and so on could join in the fun too.

Wistful thinking...

Paper Mario was one I haven't thought of. That's a good idea. I like Dr. Mario, though.

I'd also like for Link to use Light Arrows. Ganondorf has that awsome sword in SSBM if you win with him (he swings it around and goes Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!, then puts it in front of him) So much potential, but like I said, they made him a souped-up C. Falcon. Cell-Shaded Zelda to Tetra like I said would be cool.

Samus should use her Light/Dark beams at least. Her weapons from Hunters are awsome and should make up for the ones in the first Metroid Prime. She needs the Boost Ball and Power Bomb also. Maybe even the Spider Ball so she could climb up walls! And we need her with different suit options. Phazon, Dark, Light, Gravity, heck, even the Fusion Suit. The Varia-only option is getting old.

I can also see Pikachu and Pichu with Volt Tackle. They need to go ahead and make Raichu a character. They might as well put in the final family member. Even though he isn't like a main Pokémon, he would be cool. Think of HIS Thunder attack and Volt Tackle. I'd love a Wigglytuff, too. Can you imagine Deoxys-FR using Psycho Boost or Superpower, then switching to Deoxys-E to use Extreemspeed to get out of the frey quickly? SWEET! And if things get hectic, you could have Deoxys-LG, who would be more heavy and a bit slower, so the attacks won't send him flying. I guess Deoxys would be an average of all three.

Maybe they could make Jessie, James, and Meowth as Super Smash Brothers for the game.

Please God no. The four or so they had represent PKMN in SSB:M was more than enough.

I don't think they have too many characters to add--it's not like they've come out with any new huge francises between SSB:M and now.

Oooh... How about Team Rocket?
Domino. She'd play like a combination of Kilik (from SCII) and Link (SCII/SSBM), with all the tulip weapons (staff/bombs/darts). On the other hand, the chances of a onetime anime character making it into the game are about as good as Meowth's Party ever moving beyond "tech demo" status. :eh:

Still, she's got "playable character" written all over her.

Don't doubt him. He said there's a site for SSBW. He CAN'T be lying, because he said there was one. Common sense, guy.

Personally...I do wonder if we'll see an influx of third-party characters. The likes of Sonic and Knuckles would be interesting, but as I recall...there's a new Sonic franchise game coming out for some new-age platform other than the Wii, which really oppugns the idea of a dream match like Mario versus Sonic reaching fruition...

Actually the Wii is getting a Sonic, albeit a different one.

And you actually believe "-"? Or were you being sarcastic.

Either way, we might see some screens tommorow. This IS my most anticipated game coming out (Next to D/P)

I'm not surprised that the Wii is getting a Sonic game, but my point is that...hm...unless I'm mistaken, all the SSB characters have been Nintendo-exclusive characters. If Sonic is appearing on another console, then a shadow of doubt is cast upon Sonic and his kin appearing on SSB.

As for the latter statement...I'll let you interpret it as you will...

Guess you were sarcastic...

Yeah, but I agree with you. As much as it would be a nintendorgy to fight Fox McCloud with Tails, I doubt it will happen.

Hm...yep...the only two announced Sonic games I see are all Nintendo-less, so to speak. XBox 360, PS3, PSP and no signs of a Nintendo iteration...I'm gonna say that Sonic and co are definitely out of it.

Still...Wario, Toad and Daisy are hopefuls for the new game...

Actually, they did announce they are planing a Wii Sonic game. Nothing else is known though.

They should really do without 2 characters that I can think of. Pichu, because it just sucks and can't do very much, :p, and Sheik. Sheik may be good, but you have to admit that she almost has no weakness, and was barely even a character in the Zelda games.

But I'm all for a wave of new characters that should be in the game. Definetly Diddy Kong, since he should have been in SSBM, and maybe even Toad. Sure Toad makes a cameo as Peach's deflector, but having him as a character could also be interesting as well. :p

They need to keep Shiek. It's weakness is that she lacks a solid KO move, unlike Zelda. Shiek and Zelda are exact opposites, and switching between them is the key to victory. Zelda and Shiek, along with Samus, Pikachu, Peach, and Marth are my best characters.
