So, now that it aired on TV, I feel the need to ask what everyone thought.

I thought some of it was good, but other parts were just a mistake. I loved the robot and the Superman V Superman fight. I also loved the Kevin Smith cameo, but that's been done. He's going to be in every Superman animated feature forever, making fun of giant metal spiders.

I dislike the inclusion of Doomsday. He recieved top billing, but was only in the hour and a half feature for a good twenty minutes, and was only used as a plot device. He could have been used for so much more, and it dissapointed me.

I COMPLETELY missed this. And I was eager to see it. Oh well, I'm sure they'll reshow it eventually.

Wasn't he ORIGINALLY only used as a plot device? Just some random character who beat the crap out of the JLA (not even the GOOD JLA. I'm talking the mid-90s JLA, made up of Fire, Ice, Guy Gardner, Blue Beetle, and Booster Gold) on his slow trudge to Metropolis, where he killed Superman?

Well, yeah, but I was looking forward to large amounts of build-up leading to an epic final battle, not a short scuffle in the beginning of the movie.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that found the Doomsday fight to be thin considering all the focus the advertising put on that fight.

Is it me, or was the movie edited at a few points? I find it odd since the movie wasn't any more violent than an average episode of Naruto.

I was surprised to find myself liking the Toyman redesign, I still like the Superman Animated series/JL version better though.

Luthor was pretty cool in this movie also. Though him killing Mercy seemed pretty out of character, not to mention unnecessary. I guess it was a quick and easy way to cement the whole "Luthor is evil" concept.

It was cut in a bunch of places that I could tell, and the only scene I saw before the movie aired was the initial Luthor/clone beating. I suppose continuous fist-to-face violence and villain slaughtering is just too much for children to handle. Or something. Who knows.

Lex did the same thing in Smallville in one of the more recent eps, though. I think the toons and movies are trying to sneak in some Smallville characterizations here and there.

It did seem kinda edited. I think they have it streaming on netflix, I will have to check it out later.

I agree, the short fight at the start could have been something so much better.

I saw it on DVD a few months ago.

I really liked the movie, but I wasn't too fond of the Superman redesign. I mean...cheekbones? Why?

Other than that, though, I really digged it. This movie actually *earned* its PG-13 rating (unlike the unedited Batman Beyond Return of the Joker, which seemed really, really tame to me) and managed to juggle four villains without really shafting any of them.

In the DVD commentary, the creators say that they basically added that scene because they were trying to make the film live up to its PG-13 rating. And what better way to do that than a random killing?
