T-shirt a risk to air security

By ANDREW PARKER
September 11, 2006

A TOURIST was told to turn his T-shirt inside-out at an airport — as a picture of two guns on it was deemed a SECURITY RISK.

Dave Osborne, 21, was bound for Newark, New Jersey, when guards hauled him out of the queue for his Guns N Rollers T-shirt.

They told him the two pistols on the front could constitute a security risk and upset passengers.

He was ordered to turn his top inside out before boarding.

The design engineer from Lichfield, Staffs, said: “I am all for extra security but this was just plain stupid.”

Last night bosses at Birmingham International Airport apologised and said security guards “over-reacted”.

Freaking hilarious. Although I prefer the story about the Orthodox Jew who was pulled off a plane because his praying was upsetting the other passengers.

Those fabric 2-D guns are SERIOUS BUSINESS!

Remind me not to wear my Bom-omb Tee-shirt!

Sad.

Reminds me of the lady who had to take the toy gun out of the GI Joe...

A hippie kid with whom I went to high school had to change out of two t-shirts as ordered by the principal. One said "Drop Bush, Not Bombs," and the other had a picture of John Lennon with the phrase "Imagine Peace."

I can sort of guess at a reasoning for that, though.

Assuming there are some "pro-war" kids at school, the shirt may have majorly distracted them from their studying.

Not very good, but I can sort of see it all the same...

How dare someone try to promote peace?! War IS Peace!

Without War, how will we spread our magical freedom energies across the world?

same old, same old

It's the same thing every time...
Safety and Security (and Welfare) trump Freedom and Liberty every time... Need I say more?

Although I prefer the story about the Orthodox Jew who was pulled off a plane because his praying was upsetting the other passengers.
This increasingly socialist, globalzed society is ever getting more oppresive by the minute! Won't be long until we're all in a one-world dictatorship. (in fact, we could very well be in it already!)
