I just noticed, what is the purpose of tagging people in threads?
 
Tagging probably sends them a notice that they've been tagged. Dunno how to do that though...
 
At the top of a thread under the location where you are, but I don't really know what the use is of tagging but it has it use I think.

Oh, I see it now. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it just sends the user you're tagging a notification about the thread. Like if you just wanted to show them the thread.

Yup it does, but you could also get their attention if their help is needed in a thread.
