Takeshi's Castle anyone?

Don't know if this has been said before, but anyone like and watch tht Japanese gameshow, Takeshi's castle? IMO, it rules! Looks bit painful in some aspects. I watch it everynight here at 12:30am before I go to bed. My favourite games in it are:

Skipping Stones - looks painful, saw someone do a bellyflop onto a hard rock. Wore if you run fast, and slip.

Bridge Ball - Saw a woman get hit in the face about 4 times in a row with the balls, ooch.

Tug Of War - Have a slim chance of winning... Trying to pull a large cow or a tractor, no hope of winning there.

Sumo Rings - That loos intresting, except maybe when someone gets the fat sumo guy or Animal, but I saw a scared gilr once just move out of way when Animal charged at her and he fell out of ring, he was not pleased.

That one where you have to stand on the moving board, jump over thw whale, onto the lege and over the whale and back onto the ledge without falling in water, saw some guy go under the ledge with board in one show, fell off though.

anyone else like it here?
 
I havent watched the japanese version with japanese voices

but i have seen MXC which is Takeshis castle with english voice overs

absolutely hilarious
 
I've only seen the MXC parody dub Spike TV does, but its hilarious. I'd really like to go on the show myself, even though some of the challenges look almost impossible. xD
 
I love both versions, I've got MXC Season 2 on DVD
 
this is a good show its sortoff like unbeatable banzuke very entertaining

In the UK it's called Takeshi's Castle and has an English voiceover (Craig Charles, hilarious).

I loved the specials they did about General Lee losing his yellow boots and he ended up dying at the end o_O I also loved the special where Count Takeshi and his warrior people went around all the tasks and cheated through everything XD
 
hehe, yeah Craig Charls is strange on that... "as my ol dad used to say..."

Love his "redicilous replys" is it true about the mud being shipped from a pig farm in Southern Japan?

And I remember one that Animal was having fun on the one where you have to ride in the cup to the water and get to the other side, hehe.

Never saw the general losing his boots though. Saw the cheating one, that was great.

I'd love to be on that show, looks painful though, and I wear glasses, so thats a no.

He is the best thing about the British version. I watched him on Red Dwarf long before I ever watched Takeshi's Castle
 
Craig Charles did the voice-over?
I thought he just did Robot Wars and Sushi TV ...
Can't say I'm surprised though.

Craig Charles has done all kinds of stuff - sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf, Robot Wars (like you said), the UK voice-over of Takeshi's Castle and now he's even appearing in soap Coronation Street. Those are the four main ones imo. Funnily enough, I think he's referenced each one of those four in some way as he's gone on.

Anyway, on-topic: Love this show. It's just a shame they don't make it any more.

- There was that woman who got hit right in the face from a landing soccer ball (It's the game where the contestants have to catch a ball- in the mud)

- Haven't there been 2 contestants who cheated on the maze games?

A German contestant on one of the international episodes shoved the ball up his shirt on that one.

Was it a guy dressed like an airport employee (or something like that occupation)
 
I've only seen the MXC version. I've always wondered what the non-altered Takeshi's Castle was like. MXC was so heavily cut and the dub was just non-stop made up stuff and dirty jokes.

On the episode I have on my MXC DVD, General Tani allegedly* talked about some contestant's chest size. I think his nickname for her was "42 inches"
* I say allegedly because I've heard that the subs for the TC eps are not very accurate

On the full Monsters episode, Sonomanama Higashi had to help a contestant (or 3) on one of the games because of the costume and the contestant(s) required 2 boards to make it through the game
