Anyone here have any tattoos? How do we feel about tattoos, do you like them or do you think their pointless?

If you're going to share any of your tattoos, please make sure that they do not break of the forum rules or show sexual parts of the body.

I personally don't see myself getting any, never really had the interest or desire. If I was to get one, it'd have to serve some sort of function outside of just looking cool. Like an important message on my body if I'm found passed out or dead :p

I would never be interested in a permanent tattoo, but I like looking at them, especially video game or nature inspired ones. The most I would wear for tattoos would be henna or temporary tattoos. I'm actually looking for some cool temporary tattoos right now, hehe.

I myself quite like the idea of tattoos, and want one myself. The only problem is that I have no idea what I want to get a tattoo of, though I do have one or two ideas.

I have a friend with two tattoos, and he's told me that one of them has a meaning and the other doesn't. He was telling me that he doesn't feel like you need a reason behind every tattoo you get, which I do agree with. There's nothing wrong with getting something just because you like the way it looks, in my opinion, but I know a lot of people who believe you need a reason behind every tattoo.

Personally, I would not get something inked on my body if it didn't have a meaning.

I feel like a tattoo wouldn't suit me honestly, but I can definitely appreciate how amazing some tattoos end up looking. But in the rare case I do decide to get one it would be something that has a meaning to me, but as well be something I'd never want to forget.

I wouldn't get one and the main problem is how they look weird over time and when you become an old person (unless it's a military tattoo then it still looks ok).

As for tattoos it honestly depends, some are really gross (the design, not the actual tattoo as some look gorey) but others can look really good. A sleeve is very nice. However this is for men, genderless and tri-gender.

I'm not sure about women as women tend to go for coloured ones and they fade after a few years and can look quite bad. I think it depends where it is, what it is and the colours used for women. And different tattoos go with different body types.

I have a few, but no real desire to get more. Every one I have means something important to me.

I like the idea of tattoos. There are countless examples of really cool ones out there... but there's also countless examples of really crappy ones, be it the execution, the message they send, etc. I agree with Life and his friend that one doesn't need a deep or meaningful reason to get a tattoo, but at the same time I would encourage one to spend some time thinking about what they to get before going through with it. A week at least to see if the idea still seems good.

I thought about getting a tattoo in the past, but could never decide on what I would want to permanently ink on my body. I also opted to spend my extra spending money on books and videogames, so the idea fell to the wayside. In the future I may get one, but as of now I have no set plans.

I've known i always wanted tats since i was about 4. I find them very sexy. I'd be completely covered if i had more spare money. Most of them have meanings.

Shortly after it was done. Yes it is a tribute to Netherrealm Studios, the current makers of the Mortal Kombat franchise.

My neck tattoo says FACE. Yes it has meaning and no you don't get to know.

I'm one of the few people in the world with a 'subtle' facial tat. IRL it blends into the eyebrow better than the picture quality here can show.

I'm thinking of getting a tattoo after I turn 20. I just don't know what I want a tattoo of.

Personally, I love tattoos and I'd love to get at least one, but I am too much of a wuss to go through with it. Maybe one of these days I'll woman up and get one.

As for what I'd get, that's another story...

I currently have one tattoo. I got it about 6 years ago. It is something very personal and meaningful to me.

I think I might end up getting a tattoo, but I keep freaking out every time I think about it. Maybe me and a friend could get tattoos together or something.

I like small, simple and monochromatic tattoos. I'm not a fan of extense tattoos but I'm not anyone to judge.

3 years ago I got Maxwell Equations inked in my back when I passed Electromagnetism after failing a couple of times and struggling with personal problems. I found on internet an amazing amount of scientists who got tattoos about their research fields.

I have one, it covers around 80% of my right arm (not including the forearm, mind you). I 'made' it back in 2011 and I think is pretty cool, although the appeal dies really quickly, so be sure you really want one, otherwise you might eventually regret it. It hurts like hell, by the way, although I believe this heavily depends on one's tolerance to pain (seems like my tolerance level is really low - or maybe not, since I endured the excruciating pain for 3 to 4 hours?).
