I wanted to use some more obscure Pokemon in my Emerald playthrough... unfortunately I got myself stuck in a rut and accidentally picked a lot of choices that aren't very suited for the story mode. in addition they are taking a LOT of level grinding as well, especially since im only at mossdeep city.

here they are:
Canary (Blaziken)
Garnet (Sableye)
Chew (Vibrava)
Lancelot (Skarmory)
Lumina (Staryu)
Anemone (Lileep)

at the moment Blaziken is far and away the best team member. Lumina is in second but the lack of water stones at this point is hurting it.

i dont mind having to start over at this point but i do like these guys despite the struggles...if i do end up having to start over I will atleast save them before I do so.

Please forgive the lateness of my reply.
Running this Team through a Team Builder with their fully evolved forms, it's actually pretty good. Bug & Ice are the only glaring weaknesses, but having Vibrava to Flygon will help your Team tremendously. I would suggest training in the Desert if possible. If you can get access to Dive after beating Tate & Liza, you will do pretty well, since you can go to the Abandoned Ship and get a Water Stone. You can get Dive in Mossdeep.

As far as Tate & Liza, their Team have:
2 Weak to Ground (Lunatone & Solrock)
1 Weak to Rock (Xatu)
3 Weak to Bug (Claydol, Solrock & Lunatone)
All 4 are Weak to Ghost
2 Weak to Steel (Solrock & Lunatone)
3 Weak to Water (Claydol, Solrock, & Lunatone)
3 Weak to Grass (Claydol, Solrock, & Lunatone)
1 Weak to Electric (Xatu)
2 Weak to Ice (Claydol & Xatu)
All four are Weak to Dark

How I would run it is get everything trained up in the desert or another such area (I know the grind is hard), then going into the battle, Sableye, Skarmory, and Flygon can really help you here. Craydily is also not bad. I would recommend getting leveled up at least to Level 45 and use the Gym Trainers to train up.

Any further advice, DM me. Keep up the work. It will be worth it. Looks like a pretty solid Team actually.

my main problem is that a lot of these pokemon have very strange movepools so im not entirely sure what to Do with them, per se T_T i can see some potential fun though with stuff like cradily and ancientpower boosts, etc
thanks for the advice

I was thinking the same thing. Lileep and Sableye are pretty much useless when it comes to offense which means training them up to progress through the game is very slow if you wanna continue using them. They could work with stalling strategies using TMs later on maybe. Skarmory is also not the strongest attack but at least you can use Fly and Steel is of course a useful defensive type. Honestly your team is very lacking in firepower right now so prepare to spend a lot of time grinding to make it work. Blaziken, Flygon and Starmie are all very good.

Looking ahead it seems to me like the Elite Four might be a struggle depending on your levels, especially the Champions because Cradily would be weak to Wallace's Ice type moves. However, Starmie is so amazing you could probably solo most of the big fights ahead if you teach it the right TMs, or at least blow huge holes in their team. A trio carried by Starmie with Blaziken and Cradily for the odd Grass type coverage will likely let you breeze through the rest of the game with enough training and the right moves. The rest are interesting inclusion to try to make work for the novelty and challenge of it, just gonna take more time and effort to bring out their potential if you're adamant about keeping your team as is.

honestly it's a tough decision because i Do like the team conceptually but it's very hard to work with, especially since i never actually finished emerald as a kid T_T tempted to put the save file aside for now at least. there are a lot of other fun hoenn mons ive never played with...
