well since I'm going to start wi-fi battles soon i wanted to know what some experts think of the team i plan on using for platinum wi-fi battles. here is my team.

Umbreon
ability: Synchronize
nature: careful
EV's: 6 ATK / 252 SP. DEF / 252 DEF
item: Leftovers
- payback
- toxic
- wish
- protect

i choose umbreon because it's my favorite pokemon. i decided on making it the usual umbreons you see, but i think it will work well.

Dragonite
ability: inner focus
nature: adament
EV's: 6 HP/ 252 ATK / 252 SPE
item: Leftovers OR lum berry
- outrage
- dragon dance
- thunder wave
- fire punch

next is dragonite, also a favorite. it is the typical DD - NITE with the usual move set expect i used fire punch instead of earthquake because some steel types aren't affected by it, and fire punch takes care of it.( with the exception of empoleon and some others)

Tyranitar
ability: sand stream
nature: adament
EV's: 100 HP / 252 ATK / 100 DEF / 58 SPE
item: Leftovers
- earthquake
- stone edge
- pursuit
- dragon dance

then i choose a DD - TAR with typical move set, not much to say except its a good physical sweeper.

Skarmory
ability: sturdy
nature: impish
EV's: 100 HP / 58 ATK / 252 DEF / 100 SPE
item: leftovers
- drill peck
- roost
- taunt
- stealth rock

i choose skarmory because i need a defensive wall since i already have umbreon as a sp. defense wall. skarmory is gonna be my lead pokemon. taunting and stealth rocking away and drill peck for stab and roost to keep it nice and healthy.

Sceptile
ability: overgrow
nature: timid
EV's: 6 HP / 252 SP. ATK / 252 SPE
item: leftovers
- leaf storm
- rock slide
- synthesis
- hidden power [fire]

now we have sceptile as the speed demon. i tried to give it a good move set but i wasn't entirely sure what best fits. since leaf storm cuts sp. attack i gave it rock slide. i was thinking of x-scissor but i was like nah.

Starmie
ability: natural cure
nature: timid
EV's: 100 HP / 158 SP. ATK / 252 SPE
item: leftovers
- rapid spin
- surf
- ice beam
- recover

i didn't know who my last pokemon was going to be then i thought long and hard and decided that i wanted a starmie. i've never used a starmie before, but i think it will make a good rapid spinner and and alternative sp. sweeper to sceptile. like roost on skarmory recover will keep starmie nice and healthy. also i prefer ice beam to psychic because it has more type coverage.

there you have it Team Ezekiel. now i didn't know what items goes best with which pokemon so i really wanna hear your opinions on that. also opinions on move sets ev's and natures. also alternative pokemon suggestions. all comments will be welcomed even criticism. so let me know what you guys think and i would love battle you guys soon!

begone with the rock slide on sceptile. Give it focus blast. The team looks fine for the rest, but you might wanna test it on shoddy battle.

I'm not too familiar with shoddy but i looked it up and its great. so far i had one battle with this team and it came down to my sceptile and a houndoom that had did 1 nasty plot. i used rock slide but it didn't die plus added damage when it switched in too stealth rock from skarmory. i think your right with the focus blast. and it ended with a OHKO flamethower =P

Switch The Skarmories defence EV training. (Switch Defence with Special Defence)

No, don't switch Skarmory's EVs from defense to special defense (though I am not sure why your spread is the way it is aside from those EVs, might want to explain that a bit). Skarmory is a physical wall, and when you see a very threatening special attacker, you're supposed to get the hell out (as I'm sure the OP knows).

At a glance, this team is raped badly by Infernape (and Lucario, to a lesser extent)- four of your team members are weak to him. Granted, you have Starmie, but if you lose that early on and you face a late-game sweeping Infernape, it's not going to be good. This team also seems like it's going to be Ice Beam weak - you might want to test it and see if you have a problem dealing with that.

These are all great Pokemon, I just don't think that they're going to work together very well, so you may want to plan better to cover some weaknesses. Also, I'm not sure that your Umbreon is going to make a good lead, if that's what you're using it for. Umbreon is more for team support, and he doesn't do that by leading. With that set, suicide/trick leads will easily set up on you. The only thing that can work in your favor is if you are leading against a leading special sweeper, which will probably force a switch - but you in no way benefit from that switch, as you have nothing to either boost Umbreon's stats in some way, or set up your own team (Stealth Rock, which Umbreon can't do anyway, or stat boosts for your own team). If you really want to lead with Umbreon, you are better off going with something that messes up leads... perhaps a Taunt/Curse set, OR some kind of Baton Pass set. Still though, I think Umbreon is better suited for support later in the game.

sorry for the misunderstanding umbreon is not my lead skarmory is. and on the topic i gave it full 252 DEF, 100 HP just so it can take 1 or 2 more hits, 100 SPE just to be a little fast, and 58 on ATK just so drill peck would hurt a little more. if you see a problem with this spread plz let me know i too think i could spread a bit more effective. yes my team will have problems with infernape and actually 5 of my members are weak to it if it knows stone edge. ice beam isn't too problematic just really on dragonite and sceptile. as far as all of them working together. i think their great, I've tested them on shoddy battle and had only 4 losses opposed to 9 or 10 wins. i think if my predictions and strategies improve this team will do great.

Ahh, so sorry I missed that part. Hmmmm... I'm not great with EV spreads, and I especially wouldn't know what to suggest on a lead Skarmory. They just seemed different to me, so I wondered if they were specifically tailored to deal with certain threats. I could see that working as a lead, though I'd worry that Skarmory wouldn't be fast enough to get Taunt out first before he gets screwed over. Well, you would know better than I would how to play it, so if you're not having problems so far, great.

Did those 4 losses result from Infernape? It's great to hear that you've won a lot, but this team just does not deal with Infernape very well. I'd say at the very least, replace one of your fire/fighting weaknesses with a bulky water or something. I kind of like the idea of keeping Sceptile though, since without him, it looks like your team would have a hard time dealing with offensive Swampert (have you had any problems with any Swampert sets?). Oh, and Skarmory is Ice Beam weak as well, just keep that in mind.

I noticed you have leftovers on almost everything and want item help - I think Starmie and/or Tyranitar could do really well with Life Orb. I want to recommend a choice item somewhere, but your sets don't really seem conducive to that. Since you have two dragon dancers already, you may want to change one to a choice band set. Just a suggestion. Who has a harder time switching in and setting up for you?

yeah skarmory is a great lead. i almost always get the stealth rock set up.and yea taunt has had some losses in speed match ups. and those four losses were not because of infernape. in fact i've seen only 3 infernapes thus far, and just simply switched to starmie and ko'd it with surf. also sceptile is a beast. I'm serious i've won many matches because of him. his leaf storm causes alot of damage and when facing registeels or metagrosses i switch into sceptile and use that sweet HP [fire]. rock slide has worked very well too in back up of leaf storm sp. atk loss and it does 2x to 4 of it's 5 weakness( poison being the exception ). i've fought some swamperts and they were no problem for me, i would switch in sceptile and either 2 things happen, either leaf storm OHKO or they switch out. with the items leftovers has been good in account of it cancels out the damage my team would get from tyranitars sandstorm. and surprisingly tyranitar has had an easier time setting up the DD.
