Team Flare Arc Theories

Hi, I'm new. But I've been watching the threads for a while just waiting for a good conversation about the Team Flare arc, and while I've found some good comments, I really wanted an indepth thread dedicated to it...so I'm making one.

Okay, this plot is soooo thick when we think about it, but I've recently had to rewatch some episodes to remind me of how deep it is.

Let's break down this set-up.

Objects that may play a role in this arc:
Mega-stones/Key stones
The Sundial at that one city with the seventh gym...
The Megalith Team Flare took from the Hoenn region
Team Flare's crazy weapon
Those blaster weapons Team Flare used against the cores--powered by Mega Evolution energy
Alan's Keystone (In the most recent episode it did a weird shiny thing...could be nothing)
Alan's "Infinite Energy Device" as named by ~ Blazing White Yang

People that may play a role(other than the main trio+Eureka)
and of course we know Alan/Manon/Lysander and your everyday Team Flare grunts...

I want to specifically mention some others in Olympia's prophecy:
Team Rocket
Platane, as the one who shows the way

Steven(I reeeeeeeeeally want to have him reappear)

Lucario (possibly hypnotized by Malamar?~theory by Rath)

I want to add to this list/eliminate things as the discussion develops.

Questions/Speculation:

What is the importance of the Sundial? Is it related to the Megalith? Are they like a keystone/megastone pair?

What if the Malamar is actually James's evolved Maika? Or, how would evil Malamar be involved?

How is Mega evolution energy related to Zygarde? I think it's obvious the Megalith's energy is the same as Mega evolution energy.

What is Team Flare's plot? We know he wants a more beautiful world.

Some say the league would get interrupted by Team Flare. I see that happening more than Ash winning in my opinion.
 
Hello! Welcome to the boards! The big theory going around this board right now is that Team Flare is going to crash the Kalos League. Some of the supporting evidence comes from the fact that not only Team Flare hasn't been defeated before the league, but the fact that Alain and Malva have been present. Alain is a Team Flare bodyguard of sorts and Malva is a full fledged Team Flare member, reporting on the league. The other part of this theory comes from the fact that Squishy/Puni-Chan is right here. If Alain or Malva were to spot Squishy/Puni-Chan, one would imagine they would alert Lysandre, triggering the attack.

I do not believe that Team Flare is going to crash the League based on what we know so far. Why will they need to crash the League? The Black and White games at least justified it. N was going to use the League to announce the world of his intention to separate man and Pokémon. Team Flare is just after one Pokémon, Squishy. And Squishy is with Bonnie, not Ash. They attack the League, it very likely that it would simply cause confusion and chaos, enough for Squishy to slip away into the shadows. In order for Team Flare to go after Squishy effectively, they need to isolate it in a secure location. That means separating the Kalos gang from the crowds. And that would be more effective after the League.

Plus, I'm sure Lysandre would afford to wait a bit before initiating the attack. He is monitoring Alain's progress and surely Alain's performance against Ash and his Ash Greninja would be useful information in the future. Especially if Alain loses.
 
A few days ago, I made a theory on what's going to happen at the end of the league and the start of the team Flare climax a few days ago on the broadcast data thread, so I'm reposting it here.

*The camera pans on the excited crowed during the start of the finals, it passes by Shota, Trevor, Tinero, Bonnie, Clemont, Serena, and Shauna. Punichan is seen watching from Bonnie's bag or on her lap on the large TV screens in the stadium*
Malva: *Sees Punichan on the TV screen* ! *Knows what Team Flair is doing, but doesn't reacts about it and act like she "didn't" see it since she doesn't want to expose Team Flares plans. Unknown to her, Diantha is suspicious of team Flare*
Diantha: *Sees Punichan with Ash's group, talks quietly to herself* So they have a Zygarde core with them. As long as it stays with them, team Flair is unable to do their plans, but it'll be a matter of time that they'll capture it....*Focuses her attention to the league while keeping the upcoming crises in Kalos in her mind*
Jessie, James, and Meowth: *Sees Punichanon the TV screen, quietly talks among themselves*
Meowth: Looks like that Punichan are still with the twerps!
James: It'll be a matter of time that we can capture Punichan and send it to the boss!
Jessie: How are we going to be able to take it from them?
*James is about to talk, but Malva urges them to continue going around, so they have to continue following around and filming her. Meanwhile at Lysandre labs, Lysandre and Xerosic watches the TV to monitor Alain throughout the league and sees Punichan on the TV screen with Bonnie*
Lysandre: *Smirks* So that's where Z1 has been hiding, with that little girl. We haven been looking for you in quite a long time....
Xerosic: How are we going to be able to capture it when there's are thousands of people there?
Z2 (Blue Zygarde core): *Watches the TV and the two as it listens to them talk. Has a feeling that they're up to something again, but can't do anything about it since it's still trapped in the containment chamber* ;
Lysandre: We only need all 5 cores in order to have our plan in full motion, and the plans have been delayed enough already. *He and Xerosic leaves the room to go talk to the Flare executives what needs to be done, even if they have to ruin the league itself*
 
Given the new episode titles, it seems that the time for Squishy and Z2 to merge into Zygarde Complete is coming up soon. When Zygarde does reunite though, I'm betting that the memories of the time that Squishy spent with Bonnie and it being responsible putting Chsepie in a coma will cause Zygarde to fully betray Team Flare in favor of keeping Bonnie safe. By the end of this, I bet that Bonnie and Zygarde will stay in touch and eventually take over their dad's job as defending Lumiose City, as well as all of Kalos!
 
Wanted to put this here as well since it's relevant. Oh and I totally wondered if Alain's keystone flashing a few episodes back meant anything!

Super Fierce Fight 2: Team Flare's plans are revealed!

Up until now, Team Flare has operated in secret. But we will finally learn their true goal! Let us first examine what they've been doing so far.

The members of Team Flare:
The key figures in the organization are these two!
Lysandre: The director of Team Flare. He attempts to use the powers of the Zygarde Core called "Z2" for the sake of his own ambitions.
Xerosic: A scientist researching Z2 and Mega Evolution Energy. A loyal subordinate of Lysandre.

Malva: Works as a reporter at the Kalos League. She seems to have some sort of connection to Lysandre.

Three Mysteries:
What are the actions and incidents Team Flare have been responsible for so far...?

1 - The capture of Z2: Z2 is another Zygarde Core that looks just like Squishy. It has been caught by Team Flare and Xerosic has been using its powers for his experiments.
2 - Mega Evolution Energy: Thanks to Lysandre, Akain has been gathering Mega Evolution Energy through battling. Opponents that have mastered Mega Evolution all seem to be extremely powerful.
3 - The megalith from the Hoenn Region: A shining stone that hides enormous energy. Team Flare discovered it underground in the Hoenn region and took it away in order to research it.

In one of the upcoming episode screenshots, I noticed a picture of one Zygarde core (blue) in one one tube, and there's 4 other tubes in the room and a grunt is looking through one of the tubes. The picture isn't clear, but we'll get a better image in the future. What do you guys think? I doubled the picture's size to make it a bit clearer.

I know I saw that! To me it looks like those cloning tubes we saw in the first Mewtwo movie waaaaaaaaaaaay long ago. Probably they just have all other four cores they need. The only other thing I can think of is they are biologically engineering an army of Megas....but it's super intriguing!

Why they need an army of megas even though that have Zygarde himself? All they need to capture is Puni-chan and they can have Zygarde complete doing whatever they want.

Judging by Mega Lucario's placement (it appears to be fighting Ash-Greninja), either Team Flare has a Mega Lucario, or Xerosic and his Malamar hypnotized Korrina and her Lucario into doing Team Flare's bidding.

I think that Lucario was placed there to fill up the empty space. The bottom portion doesn't really help explain Lucario's placement on the top.
 
Although it does seem location will play a part...though I would be really surprised if that part is on the bad side, Malamar's involvement or otherwise.

What is Team Flare's actual goal? Cause I don't get what they're trying to do. In the game, he just wants a more beautiful world.

That all sounds about right. In the game I think he was trying to destroy the world (people) to make it more beautiful. Not exactly sure how that logic works. It's like stopping war with more war. People have tried it lots of times and it just encourages more war.

Also, I'd like all of Team Flare and Team Rocket to team up together to do a big Broadway style rendition of Rocky Horror Picture Show and/or Phantom of the Opera, and everyone must be in drag. Jesse and James play the main parts. It will be fabulous. Fantastic. Fantabulous!

Haha, that would be really funny.

I really hope there's a little more to his plan...Lysandre seems smarter than the leaders of Team Aqua/Magma, so I'll be a little disappointed if his evil motivation runs along the same lines. I wouldn't mind a little more...depth. But that's one reason why I like Alain--he's been given a lot of character development for an antagonist in this series.

By the way...in the games, isn't the Headquarters for Team Flare located in Lumiose City?
 
OMGOSH I JUST NOTICED SOMETHING!

I'm watching episode 14 and Lysandre and scientist-what's-his-name are talking and...Those blaster guns they use against Zygarde? They are powered by Mega Evolution Energy! So...is Mega Evolution energy what they will use to control Zygarde in it's 100% form?
 
If anything, that cover implies Ash, Alain, Trevor, and Sawyer working together against Lysandre. The mind controlled Mega Lucario owned by Korrina is an interesting thought. Lucario does show up in the broadcast data and so does Malamar, so its an interesting theory.

As for Mega Evolution Energy, I think that theory sounds pretty solid.
