Alright, I watched the final fight with Team Galactic and the build up to it was so great, I had high hopes and...then the commander's Pokemon get their butts kicked with ease...Seriously! Why? Jupiter I can handle, since she was ambushed by Cynthia's Garchomp but come on, Purugly and Toxicroak got owned! I mean after building up that big rivalry with Crogunk, it ends with one sneak attack hit? And we don't even see Cyrus battle.

Am I the only one disappointed by this?

I agree and we didn't see any of chaos that could have resulted from having two legendary like we did in the first DP movie.

This is sorta about the build up to and hype to the final battle, since they connect, not just one episode.

No, you're not the only one let down by that. The only "battle" was Croagunk vs Toxicroak, and it was less than five seconds long.

We don't even know if anime Cyrus has any pokemon! This is especially strange since he's supposed to be, in two other continuities, one of the top battlers in Sinnoh (...ok so those others are DPA and the card game, and the card game barely has a canon outside of "here are some cards", but hey).

The whole thing was a real letdown. Sure it was better than the Aqua/Magma finale, but that's not saying much. And I got the impression (and I think I said this in the other thread) that the writers played up to the "I seek an entirely new world solely for myself. If not, it could never be the complete and perfect world." part and decided they knew enough, and didn't get to the "Why should I run and hide from the world and have to wait quietly? My aim is to rid our world of the vague and incomplete thing we call spirit. By freeing ourselves of that, our world can be made complete. That is my justice!" part. To say nothing of his LAST LINE, "One day, you will awaken to a world of my creation. A world without spirit." which basically says in no uncertain terms that there WILL be other people in his world, including people he FREGGIN HATES.

Nnnnngh. I know there's many and varied ways to interpret a character (I'm especially fond of Religious Maniac Eusine, for instance), but there's some takes that just smack of Did Not Do The Research. I know anime=/=games, but there have to be standards or they might as well just make everyone from scratch.

It was Disappointly Awesome, which basically means that it was pretty cool to watch, but there was a lot more they could've done to spice up the finale.

I agree with that, Cyrus should've had some Pokemon to battle with. I was kinda hoping to see Paul and Berry involved in the final battle as well, your rival is important at this part in the game, can't say for the Manga cause don't read it, but still, they're not even involved in it in the Anime. I realize Dawn is there, but I think she's there in the game too (or her male counterpart).

No offense to the writers, but they should've added an extra part so there could be a final battle with Team Galactic and they actuelly get defeated instead of just get sucker punched and beaten in a few minutes.

I was also hoping to see Paul, for the realization that if he keeps festering in his hatred for everything, he'll end up like Cyrus. Maybe someone will call him out on that.

I also wanted Cynthia to DO something. All she did was subdue Jupiter without a battle (and even then it was more Garchomp's doing) and yell at Cyrus for a bit. Then she managed to completely go against her previously established characterization by doing absolutely nothing while he went in the portal. Come on! It's as I hold, punching him in the face would have been win/win/win--She would have stopped him, it would have been without breaking her "I care for everyone no matter how big a dickweed they are" persona, and both she and the fans (yes, even the Cyrus fans) would have found it incredibly satisfying.

This. I couldn't have said it better than this. The episode was awesome and fun to watch, but it would've been better if they'd done more to it. But hey, it's loads better than past episodes in previous sagas, IMO.

I understand entirely. I'm not saying it was a bad episode, just it disappointed me.

Yeah, the Galactic final battle seemed kinda disappointing. I was expecting more of a battle between Brock's Croagunk and Saturn's Toxicroak. That's all.

Not really. Maybe a few things could have been done better (and perhaps a four-parter), but overall, it was spectacular. Handled way better than the Aqua/Magma conclusion and easy to see that everything was planned right from the beginning.

That was not hard to top... but then again, I feel that we're giving too much crap to the Team Aqua/Team Magma conclusion... at least they got one, whereas Team Rocket... besides that Lugia mini-arc and the Lake of Rage... buildup that just went nowhere...

I was VERY dissapointed...Team Galactic got their butts handed to them.

The graphics in the episodes were epic thought!

My biggest question is Charon...where the heck does Charon go? I mean you see Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter get arrested but it's like Charon just vanished into thin air! As far as I know they're not going to do the Stark Mountain part in the anime so...what happened???

Personally, the Japanese version of this trilogy of episodes was much better. I watched it three or four times subbed... And a few others ones...

So I couldn't wait until the English dub came out and sadly, I was disappointed by the dub. While the script stayed the same (for the most part), the emotional tension that was in the original was sorta lost. In fact, in the English dub, it felt more contrived for me.

Anybody else seen the original Japanese version?

However, even so, I still liked it a lot especially for a pokemon final battle. It reminded me of Sailor Moon's finales... Without the deep backstory to make you feel for the bad guy...

Still, in the Japanese version, when that girl screams out for Cyrus, you feel it, she's really calling out to him and wanting him to be with her...

And the hell of it is, in the video game, he HAS a deep backstory. Well, I suppose YMMV about the depth of it, but it makes you understand why he snapped.

And yeah, I saw it in Japanese. I saw it LIVE in Japanese. And the group I was watching it with over Keyhole, when he started towards the portal, the whole group started going "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SOMEONE STOP HIM!" And when it closed, we were dead silent for about ten seconds. We were stunned.

I was actually pretty satisfied with it. While I would have liked for each of the trio to have faced off against a Team Galatic member, overall it was a pretty strong finale. I didn't want a battle between Dialga and Palkia because we already had enough of that in movie 10 and I enjoyed how the way each of the kids helped calm the duo corresponded with their respective legendaries. Brock used reason, Ash used force and Dawn reached out with her heart.

I didn't expect too much out of the Galatic finale either so I was delighted with the way it played out. I expect them to step up their game with the next season though.

that was how I felt. That ending just left me stunned..: on the English version, I didn't feel much and I laughed when the chick screamed out his name. Lol.

In the Japanese version, he didn't really need a backstory as he felt like a cult leader... Making these young teens, the same as Jessie and James, follow him in an even worse path than Rocket Gang's.

Also, in English and Japanese, I loved Hunter J's dramatic death. Beautifully executed scene... Everything about it... It felt eerie.

As evil as she was, I felt kinda bad for her although she well deserved it.

I can't wait for the next season's evil gang... Each season gets a better bad guy with a better plot...
