What has surprised me, when I've read some of the synopses on Bulba about the upcoming episodes, is how similar the Team Galactic in the anime is to the one in the games.

It sounds like he has the exact same goal to recreate the universe with himself as god, and he will try to do so by capturing the Lake Trio, constructing the red chain thingie, and calling upon Palk and Dial.

From what I've read, they are also hinting at the Spear Pillar. Probably not news to alot of you, but I just think its cool how the anime writers are sticking closer to the game stories.

I see Ash taking on the role of the player in Diamond/Pearl games, defeating Cyrus and TG on the Spear Pillar. Epic.

How do you guys see the remainder of the TG arc in DP finishing out? Similar to games or not? Predictions?

Not sure when Movie12 is supposed to occur, in terms of between which episodes of the anime, but maybe the group will witness Arceus in the movie shortly after they defeat Cyrus in the anime on the Spear Pillar???

TBH, I'm not sure that the dragon trio are going to play a big part in the Ginga Dan's plot, considering how much they've dominated the DP movies. I think that they'll get as far as the pixies, but are maybe stopped at this point?

The "Spear Key", or whatever that thing is we first saw at the Solaceon Ruins, is not in the game, I think. What is its purpose?

I'm anxious to find out how they handle this. Space and time is quite a complex system, even for a plot. And we know how Movie 4 turned out.

When is the Galactic plot resolved in the games? Between the 7th and 8th Gym? I don't remember.

It's been awhile since I saw the Steel Island episodes, but I believe they were using it to scan Mt. Tengan for the Spear Pillar.

Yes, I think you are right. Plus, with a name like Spear "KEY" it probably somehow allows access to the Spear Pillar in Mt. Coro

You go to Galactic HQ after beating Candice; from there you go right to Mt. Coronet. You cannot access Sunyshore City before that.

There will probably be a 30+ episode gap between Candice and Volkner like there was between Gardenia and Maylene, though.

A 30 episode gap? WTF? How long do you expect Sinnoh to go on?

We have confirmed titles to DP120 and we're not even at Candice yet. You think we're going to be up to DP150 and not even at the 8th Gym yet?

I think those of you expecting some big epic finale for Galactic are setting yourselves up for a massive fall. While I expect them to be handled better than Aqua/Magma are, they will probably still be resolved in a 2 or 3-parter.

Seriously, what is going on here? You guys think Sinnoh is going to go on for 200 episodes?

Toss in the Sinnoh Battle Frontier and it's entirely possible, if they keep it loosely where it is in the games (they say on Battle Island that it isn't part of Sinnoh). And that way they could do the post-Cyrus Galactic plot with Heatran.

I'm not to sure if 4kids was working on the show they'd let him get away with the idea of being a god PUSA probably would though

Actually 4kids would've allowed it as well, they just would've adjusted the wording a bit.

"If I obtain the power to control time and space, I will RULE THE WORLD!"

Yanno, something like that. PUSA will probably say about the same thing.

Heh, we're not gonna see them in Movie 12 and everyone with a reasonable knowledge knows that.

Y'know, everything is going to end at Mt. Coronet. After that, we're probably never gonna see them again. However, I DO hope that they give them some bigger appearance prior to then (with Pluto being involved and Handsome chasing after the group). They already handle the Team better than TM/TA (whose handling sucked even in the games. Their legend was awesome but the team characters were not) but it's not enough to satisfy most fans (including me). But we're close to Lake Acuity, there's a fair chance we'll see something related to them in future months (the writers just have to hurry up a bit).

As I said, they could get rid of Cyrus at the Spear Pillar (possibly using the Distortion World, but given that it would be almost identical to movie 11 it's hard to say) and continue the Galactics under Pluto through the inevitable Battle Island arc.

Yes. It would be awesome if they did it so, as it was in Platinum. But knowing the writers, they'll probably want to get rid of that difficult-to-handle plot.

But I have my thumbs up, still...

If that sad Darkrai Vs. Cresselia episode was any indication, its that the writers can still do anti-climatic nonsense and not care.

When you have a 10 second battle with Pokemon glowing and bumping into each other, you know they weren't even trying. By far the worst legendary battle of the entire series.

No matter how much the writers have improved, the Galactic plot is bound to be anti-climatic in some way. You guys have your hopes too high.

Maybe so Scott85, but Team Galactic is the first evil team that feels truly epic (I mean Cyrus wants to create a new universe where he's a god for crying out load), but yeah the writers can definitely screw this storyline up.

Which would be a shame :-(

It would be a shame if that happens. :( But I will know it would happen.

If they follow the games, it's Snowpoint to Veilstone to Mt. Coronet to Sunyshore. You tell me how they cover all of that and have Ash beat Volkner within only 10 episodes. I'm waiting.

(watch him dodge this question)

I'll watch them do it in less than 30.

Sinnoh is not going to be stretched out forever. Even Johto, the longest damn saga we had to sit through, was 157 eps long.

We have confirmed titles to DP120. Movie 12, the last DP movie is in July, by that logic the leagues will probably happen toward the end of this year.

What makes you think the writers have this big finale for Galactic planned? If you actually counted up their eps, Galactic has actually appeared less than Magma/Aqua did so far.

Pokehunter J was only ever in 3 episodes. The writers are not focusing on the villains anymore this saga than the previous. It just feels differently because of Sinnoh's odd pacing.

Just watch, I bet the Galactic finale, whatever it is, is only a 2 or 3 parter at the most. Thinking otherwise will lead you to a massive disappointment. Need I remind you of that sad Darkrai Vs. Cresselia ep?
