The Emotion Pokémon Indeedee will make its Pokémon GO debut during this event.
Event Bonuses and Activities
The following event bonuses will be active throughout the Psychic Spectacular: Taken Over event:
- Additional Candy for Nice Throws or better.
- 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period.
- Increased chance for Candy XL for Nice Throws or better for Trainers level 31 and up.
- Lunatone and Solrock will both appear in the wild during the event globally.
- Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons
- Trainers can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration
- Pokémon caught via one-star and three-star Shadow Raids during the event will have a wider variance of Attack, Defense, and HP.
Trainers will be able to purchase an event-exclusive ticket for the Groudon Shadow Raid Weekend for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency), granting the following additional bonuses between Saturday, September 20th, at 6:00 a.m. to Sunday, September 21st, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time:
- Trainers will be able to receive five additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (for a daily total of seven)
- 50% more XP will be received from Raid Battles
- 2× Stardust will be received from Raid Battles
Field and Special Research
Free event-themed Field Research is available for this Team GO Rocket Takeover. Trainers completing the Field Research tasks will receive Mysterious Components, Charged TMs, and Fast TMs, amongst other rewards.
Trainers will also have access to a new edition of the recurring Special Research Story involving Team GO Rocket. By completing this Special Research, Trainers can earn a Super Rocket Radar to locate and battle Giovanni, who this time will be taking control of a Shadow Incarnate Forme Tornadus. This Special Research will be available to claim until the end of the current Pokémon GO: Tales of Transformation Season on December 2nd at 9:59am local time.
Paid Timed Research
Trainers will be able to purchase event-exclusive Timed Research for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency). Completing this Timed Research will award Trainers with:
- Two Premium Battle Passes
- One Super Rocket Radar
- Encounters with event-themed Pokémon, including Ralts, Gothita, Wyrdeer, and more

A Psychic Spectacular: Taken Over Ultra Ticket Box will be available on the Pokémon GO Web Store for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency). This box includes an event ticket for access to Paid Timed Research, and three bonus Silver Pinap Berries.
Additionally, a Groudon Shadow Raid Weekend Ultra Ticket Box will be available on the Pokémon GO Web Store for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency) and includes both a Groudon Shadow Raid Weekend Event Ticket, and a bonus Premium Battle Pass.
