Team Magma and Aqua Club!

I have seen around and I have not seen a Team Magma or Aqua Club. Theres Team Rocket Club but no Team Magma and Aqua. So I am going to start it 'kay.

Rules :
1.Talk about Team Magma and/or Aqua.
2.You can ask question about the two teams.
3.You can like one team or both teams.
4.Have fun^^

Ahh, Aqua and Magma. Loved by some, detested by many.

People got so used to Team Rocket's "I'm evil for the sake of being evil" that anything less just seems odd. I mean, they're not entirely unmotivated, but their concept of evil is almost... random. The anime does a lot more with this, as does the manga - but the games just depict them as an army of simple crooks.

GSC did this a little better - Team Rocket was now devoted to a purpose instead of just doing things for the sake of doing them. However, it was kind of a stupid purpose, it basically boiled down to "Help, Giovanni, we can't run this team because we're the worst admins ever :("

On the other hand, Magma and Aqua are motivated - they have a purpose, not just "I STEAL!". Sure, it's a strange purpose, but it's better than no purpose at all, I think - at least, if you're at all interested in Pokemon's story, which many aren't. Also, the conflict between Aqua and Magma was well-done.


Outside of the games, though... the anime absolutely butchered Team Aqua and Magma. While Team Rocket has incredible personalities like Domino, Butch, Cassidy, and Professor Namba, Team Aqua and Magma had a few admins who were basically just there to call the shots. Of course, I haven't seen the Kyogre/Groudon bit yet, so this may be unfair, but I will say that those episodes had better be something else if they're going to save Magma and Aqua's image in the anime.
 
From Team Magma I like Bannai(sp?) do you know where I can get a picture of him.
 
ahh... Team Aqua... Using Dark and Water pokemon in a team.. But i have one question.. Would Team Aqua always win.. since Water Beats fire..

That is a very good question I will say maybe because you don't know if they have one pokemon that knows electric moves to beat them.
 
I've always prefered team aqua just because I've always prefered water types. It may also be because I played Sapphire first. Also them using Walrien is a plus since they're one of my favorite pokemon. The only thing cooler about Magma is their hoodies. I just never liked how in the gamesone is bad and the other is "good", and then vise versa for the other version
 
It isn't a simple case of good and evil. Both teams are misguided into thinking what they are doing is right. As their goals are in direct conflict with each other, they naturally think that stopping the other is an act for the best.

This is probably best shown in Emerald when you are up against both teams. Maxie realises the error of his ways and then says so to Archie. They are both in the wrong but neither realise it until the legendary they are after destroys the balance of nature.
 
I've never really cared that much for Team Aqua, but I am a Magma fan. It could be because I love fire pokemon, even though I don't really care for Numels and Camerupts (I'm more of an Arcanine/Houndoom kind of girl), but I do like Mightyena. It could also be because Maxie is kind of...well...Professor Sebastian-y. But whatever the case, I think TM is pretty cool. And they have cool uniforms. Actually...I really like the Aqua uniforms...on second thought, I guess I like Team Aqua, too, but I like Team Magma more. But I don't know that they're really evil...Archie is just doing what he believes is best for everyone, and the same thing goes for Maxie.
