Heatran (M) @ Shuca Berry
Flash Fire
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid (+Spe -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Explosion
- Stealth Rock
- Earth power
Basically, my strategy is to use Stealth Rock first and get that set up. Generally, the only time that I will Fire Blast right off the bat is against an ignorant Scarf Skymin that thinks it can Earth Power Heatran and OHKO. Well wait a minute...Shuca Berry...DENIED! Skymin won't even come close to a OHKO, while Heatran scores a guaranteed OHKO with Fire Blast.
Lucario (M) @ Life Orb
Inner Focus
252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly (+Spe -SpA)
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Crunch
- Extremespeed
I chose Crunch over Stone Edge or Ice Punch, simply because everything else can easily take down Gliscor or Gyarados, so there's really no reason that Lucario needs to sacrifice coverage on shit like Cresselia and Dusknoir.
Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 198 HP/252 Atk/60 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit
Pretty much just a standard CB set. Scizor is just such a great pokemon. Once I have eliminated the opposing Zapdos / Magnezone / Rotom, scizor can plow through a team with bullet punch alone. Scizor makes a great check to Mamoswine, Weavile and Metagross.
Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Recover
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
Starmie is very helpful. The ability to counter pokemon like Gyarados and Infernape, who really cause my team hell if played correctly, as well as spin away Stealth Rock (and other entry hazards), is a godsend. Lacking Ice Beam is sad, but all the other moves are practically mandatory.
Venusaur (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Power Whip
- Earthquake
- Sleep Powder
Venusaur forces switches in two different ways: first, it can directly force bulky waters and grounds out with the threat of a LO Power Whip second, the opponent may try to play around Venusaur's Sleep Powder by switching around and baiting Sleep Powder onto a status absorber.
Honchkrow (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Insomnia
EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Sucker Punch
- Superpower
- Roost
Honchkrows immunity to Sleep Powder and resistance to Grass also makes it a good switch-in to Venusaur, who is a common Raikou counter. Honchkrow also brings a second priority attack in the form of Sucker Punch, which lets it check many powerful but frail sweepers like Sceptile, Magmortar, Alakazam, and the multitude of rain sweepers.
done post how think the team is ^.\\
