Sorry if this seems a bit annoying, but it has been bugging me. Why can't the twerps ever see through Team Rocket's disguises? I mean in the Kanto region, I can understand, since their disguises were really good and they haven't known Team Rocket for quite some time. But now, they've all known them for a while and it's not like they try anything more revoltunary than put on a pair of glasses and different clothes. And more times than not, they often use the same exact disguises.

The same reason no one could identify the sailor scouts or the power rangers ... the audience should know who they are but the characters should be oblivious.

perhaps, but those characters don't have especially distincitive characterisitics about them. With Team Rocket they have the most distinctive hair in the show I have ever seen ands they have a talking Meowth for crying out loud. Not to mention the fact that those twerps fail to recogonize Team Rocket in several of their most obvious disguises.

Um...What? The Sailor Scouts I could understand, but why Power Rangers? They all had masks/helmets, so it's not really a valid of a comparison, is it?

You say that but I bet you don't know who THESE people are!

I cannot understand what you are saying. Anyone would be fooled by disguises like this. I mean, you can see something red that could look like a letter, I suppose...but there are 26 letters! Which letter could it be? Who knows?

...

I get the feeling the writers were feeling a bit lazy that episode.

the disguise always lead 2 a trap the writer make them fall into almost every single 1 of them make it worth watching

Yes, but wouldn't it be a bit more worth watching if the twerps at the very least were suspicious of the disguises. And Jorah, maybe those people in that picture are the new villans for Diamond and Pearl. I do wonder what happened to the good old Team Rocket.

Well I think it has to do with Team Rocket's lack of funds...
They don't seem to have much money and what little money they do have gets quickly spent on a scam or wasted on a machine.

I...I can't tell if you're joking or not... I mean, on the one hand, I can't imagine that you're being honest, since that's obviously Jessy and James, but on the other, I can't detect any sarcasm in that sentence at all.

Clearly, there is something in the water sources of the Pokemon world. Maybe Magikarps experience random power leaks that spoil the water. That's the only explanation for why everyone is too dumb to figure out that these are Jessie, James and Meowth in the costumes.

But it's probably just played up for humor.

I've got it: selective short-term memory loss. When dealing with traumatic events (like being picked on by TR, releasing a Pokemon, etc.), their brains seem to shut the cause of the trauma out, so they don't remember it unless something triggers their memory. That's why Ash never looks to reclaim any of his released Pokes, and why they refuse to recognize TR unless it's shoved in their faces. That's it exactly.

Or not.

DP59 says hi.

"Hook, Line and Stinker" had a great scene where Team Rocket are dozing off in a small boat, wearing shirts and sunglasses, not being involved in any scheme at all, when the twerps just randomly stumble over them... and don't recognize them.

What I find depressing is that they don't recognize Meowth.

"Oh, look! It's a short, furry midget with whiskers, a tail, and abnormally pointy ears, and he wants to give Pikachu a makeover! That's not suspicious at all!"

Also, where the heck do they find Meowth's little costumes? The only theory I have is that people in the Pokemon world also like dressing up their pets. But Meowth SHOES?

They find the Meowth shoes at the local Meowth R' Us stores. Didn't you know? I personally think that the twerps are developing memory loss at a young age.

I figured they picked up Meowth's outfits at the Pokemon equivalent of Petco, actually. (Because the one by my house has all manner of little pet shirts.) The ones there are mostly for dogs, but I honestly don't see anyone dressing up their little Growlithe/Houndour/Poochyena, not if they value their life and limb. Meowth clothes, though, I could definitely see people using those. Especially in Contests.

About the Power Rangers ... you're right ... I guess I wasn't thinking clearly ...

Why does Elmer ALWAYS fall for Bugs in drag? Unless he has some fetish about hairy women with long ears and a fluffy tail (snicker) ... I mean, even Daffy got tired of this joke.
