Notice how ever since the Decolora Adventures arc & really just the entire BW saga started TRio isn't that interesting? I know or at least think the writers are trying to move away from the seriousness they had in the beginning of BW but just how the TRio just used to interact with each other. They used to fight over the last cookie, Jessie was bossy, James liked bottle caps & Meowth had fantasy's about the boss when coming up with plans etc.

TRio (Team Rocket Trio) in my opinion in DP was to obnoxious & hyper but they were the more interesting. I hope we get that for XY anime.

=D

To me, the TRio being serious was a nice change in pace and a chance for them to display their skills as criminals. It was interesting and pleasing, but ever since they went back to their old selves, it just hasn't been interesting.

TRio becoming serious was interesting, but wasn't handled well. Whatever happened in TR VS TP, after these episodes the writers just couldn't make Team Rocket and TRio more interesting. I seriously want them to become the DP TRio again because they were funny and Ash's pokemon got more screen time. I hope they're handled well in XY.

I agree. It was cool how they were serious and actually became a threat to Ash & co. but since the TR vs TP arc was cancelled it was like TR became serious for no reason and all of that was for nothing after the Melloetta arc. I hope in X and Y they become more of a threat but have more personality then they had in BW.

Team Rocket has been old since Sinnoh. They're even more stale than Ash, but I did like when they were serious a bit. Initially I hated the idea, but after seeing the alternative again...the serious TRio is better in BW.

I didn't mind the serious TR, but they had almost no personality. A character can be serious and still be interesting, but with Musashi and Kojiro, everything about them was bland. As characters, they used to be full of life and energy and they even had real, touching moments that made them all the more human. Serious TR could have maintained that and kept their serious attitude, but as it is, they went from colorful and filled with life to lacking personality. The thing is, TR definitely needed a revamp at the end of DP, because there they were stuck in a rut, and having them take on a more serious roll could have worked, but there wasn't really any development for the characters. That's a common problem with the anime in general, but it's about as jarring as seeing Pikachu go from taking down a Latios to losing to Tsutarja a few episodes later. I generally like BW, but I wish the writers had made this a gradual change in the characters - i.e. they start out bungling a few missions, but progressively grow to become more skilled at it - and found a way for their personality to really shine through because they can be good at what they do and still be a source of humor and comic relief.

While I do think they should be more interesting in the XY anime, I honestly feel they've gotten stale at this point, so I feel like the writers should retire the Team Rocket trio soon (or at least take a much needed break from them) and let Ash encounter other antagonists for a while.

Yeah I can agree. They're annoying in DA.

Agreed. Honestly they've been pretty annoying since reverting back, and this is coming from someone who loved the goofy Team Rocket. I hate to admit it, but really the serious Team Rocket gave them character development and was a step in the right direction. The problem is that it was sacrificed for the characters' personalities, but in theory it was a great idea that BW implemented when you think about it for a while. It just needed more effort on part of the writers.

BW was trying too hard to have them be serious to the point where they were just emotionless ultra serious agents (for which TR was not meant to be that way!) and DA is trying too hard to make them funny to the point where they are utterly useless and 80% of the episodes they appear in plus they literally get shoehorned into every episode. It's like they are just there to blast of basically.

During Episode N, they were great! They were serious like some fans wanted and goofy like most other fans have wanted as well. DP TR were great! They were funny most of the time, but they didn't get shoved into every episode and they were actually useful in 90% of the episodes they appear in.

if it does this maybe the start of a beginning of the end of an era

The other day I was talking with someone on Skype, and he was saying how the Pokemon franchise was going to be entering it's renaissance era, so I do consider it the beginning of the end of an era, and the start of a new era for the franchise. I constantly hope that the anime has a rotating cast of villains, because when you use the same antagonists over and over again, it just gets tiring, it's like if Batman only fought the Joker and nobody else, wouldn't that get boring after a while, that's why I want more villains in the anime.

They stopped being interesting since mid-Johto. :p (imo of course)

I liked how they turned "serious" and badass and not shoe-horned into every damn episode because God willed it. This made them a bit blander, but to me, it was a fresh breath of air after having their same ol' song and dance for years and YEARS. I also liked how most of the episodes in BW had more time to focus on the episode's plot rather than wasting minutes on TR failing at catching something and then being blasted off. After 15 years of that, it's sure to get pretty damn dull!

I don't have any opinions on SUPER WACKY DA! TR since I haven't watched that arc yet.
