In case anyone missed it, Team Rocket (that is, Dub Team Rocket) took over the official Pokemon channel today as part of their latest 'plot' to capture Pikachu. As such, they released two videos (strangely reminiscent of the Team Rocket Radio Show that their Japanese VAs, tired of having no humour to work off at the beginning of BW, created).

Ok, this plot makes no sense to me but you know what? It was amazing to hear Dub Team Rocket speak like something resembling actual humans. No rhymes, and no constantly bitching about how much they hate each other but an actual genuine conversation going on... plus an interesting bit of introspection by James towards the end as he actually wonders if they've been wasting their time all these years.

Hey, actual halfway-natural sounding dialogue!

Also is this the only time the TPCi actors just did the "prepare for trouble, make it double" lines without any variation?

Those were great - so good to hear them sounding like normal people for once (well kinda... Meowth is still a bit too aggro but I'll take it!) Wish we could get this kind of content more than just once-a-bluemoon...

Some hilarious articles on the Pokemon.com page too btw (listed at the bottom of this article) as part of this as well:

She's been so successful in this realm that it's clear she could have a second career—she made it all the way to the semifinal round of the Sinnoh Grand Festival (“Coming Full-Festival Circle!”). A certain Twerp who wants to be a Pokémon Master has only achieved that placement in a major region's Pokémon League competition twice, and he's been trying for 20 seasons!

Why doesn't she quit TR and pursue contests?
She's not even successful at TR.

True, and recognising exactly that she did once try to quit, but found that when push came to shove she couldn't actually tear herself away from her friends. (One day they might even realise that they can leave AND still be together forever, but that's probably a way away...)

There's also a Pikachu that's good for contests in the games. James could probably try to League, but first, he would need his Growlie and getting rid of that psycho (Jessebelle).
Maybe then they turn their back on Giovanni (who, unlike them, is really evil) and try to make up for stalking Ash.

The tragic thing is that, as they've shown time and again over the series, the trio actually have a lot of natural talent when it comes to many of the other endeavours they've dipped their toes into. It appears that the only thing they're completely and genuinely inept at is the very thing they've chosen to devote their lives to.

Well, we know for a fact that Trio is still in Rocket-dan for status quo. DP proved they would do more than fine leaving the organization. However at least they have more recognition now than, say, back in DP when Sakaki didn't even remember their existence (lol!).

I still expect a big arc about Trio leaving the Rockets, it'd have to be tied to an end of the team as a whole though. That could start when they finally succeed in stealing Pikachu and giving it to Sakaki (Idk, always dreamed of that, what would happen in this scenario!?)

He would fire them for spending all of that time trying to catch a Pokémon he can find in the Viridian Forest.

I've always imagined that Team Rocket's final arc would involve the TRio finally catching Pikachu and successfully giving him to Sakaki who sees its raw power and decides to channel it... but then the trio realise that Pikachu is going to be badly hurt if not killed and team up with Satoshi to get him back and help bring down Team Rocket. After this, they say their goodbyes and then go off to do their own thing but still as a threesome.

Hell, I fully expect their final shot to be the three walking off into a literal sunset.
