Hey I got a serious issue I've been running a mega venusaur gengar and greninja in my singles team but recently thinking of switching greninja with another staller/tank of some sort, any advice?

Forretress, Ferrothorn (my favorite) or Curse Goodra are the first ones that come to mind, just from my own experience. Are you trying to stick to a specific typing? Physical or Special wall?

Not too sure still kinda new to competitive but I do have a decent understanding of all the math and time u have to put into training up for. Gengar is for sure gonna stay on the team but I may be willing to ditch even venusaur my ideal team would outspeed and power everything with good coverage all around but I know I'll prolly need a wall in there unless I'm missing something, is it possible to run a straight powerhouse team and be effective ( keep a winning record?

A friend of mine runs a Hyper Offensive team and seems to have a lot of success with it. He uses it in 3v3 singles battles. I don't know the EV spread he uses, but he has;

Talonflame (Adamant) w/Sharp Beak @ Gale Wings
Brave Bird
Flare Blitz (Gale Wings give TF priority Brave Bird and recovery w/ Roost and priority last ditch Tailwind)
Roost
Tailwind

Gengar (Timid) w/Life Orb @ Levitate
Sucker Punch
Shadow Ball (These Moves I'm not too positive on)
Thunderbolt
Sludge Bomb

Lopunny (?) w/Lopunnyite @ Scrappy
High Jump Kick
Dizzy Punch
Fake Out (For the switch into Mega)
?

I know it's not much help, because I don't have all of the info and I'm not the best at explaining things, but you could run Talonflame (with that similar set-up) in place of Mega Ven. Keep Greninja w/ his HA Protein bc it's an awesome ability and run him as either a suicide set trapper, special attacker or both. And if you don't plan on following any real set rules or Tiers you can make Gengar a Mega and pretty much demolish everyone.

If you need more help or more description you can PM and I'll do my best to assist you. Also can go into more detail as far as EV spread and such.

Hello, nice to see a new question mark face here!

When asking for team suggestions, it helps to specify what battle format you are playing in and to include a brief description of your Pokemon team (movesets, items, role, etc). You mentioned Singles, but there are several types of Singles formats, the most common during this time being 6 vs. 6 Singles or "Bring 6 pick 3" Singles (otherwise known as Battle Spot Singles, which is likely the format you are referring to). If so, it's important to consider all six of your team members, because not only does it give you more options but also makes your opponent have to guess which ones you will bring to battle. If you're looking for a bulky/tanky Pokemon to replace Greninja, Rotom-Wash or Azumarill with an Assault Vest would be great options that fit well with the rest of your team. If you'd like, you can also check out a list of previously successful Battle Spot Sample teams here to get an idea of what Pokemon/cores might work together as well as how a Hyper Offense or Balance team might look. Seeing how solid teams are built and function is a great way for new players to get acquainted with competitive battling and start them off on the path to building their own teams. It also helps to watch and play many many battles, as experience is the best way to improve.

Feel free to contact me if you're looking for more help with your team or battling in general, and if you want to have a practice battle with your team too. Good luck!

Yea so Idk where the pick 4 come from on battle spot it's pick 3 and I basically want to build a hyper offense and destroy all in path, I'm not really wanting a team support deal but is this viable? Can I climb the ranks this way... I literally considered running the top six on global link and seeing where that gets me

Oh yeah Hyper offensive is my jam. You want to run talonflame since it's really strong and it gets priority. Run it with life orb or banded, and remember that banded means 4 attacks and life orb means roost and a last ditch tailwind. I would suggest Brave bird, flareblitz, U-turn and the last one can be anything really. Now a great teammate is landorus-T. You want it scarfed, although ass vest and leftovers are also viable. On the scarfed I would recommend U-turn, Earthquake, rockslide, and knock off. I would also look into superpower over one of those attacks. As for a Mega, khan and salamence are the best, although you have more options. Mixed Mence helps you out with subs and khan just helps you over focus sashes. the build for these would be max attack and max speed on all of these. As for other pokemon I would consider Alakazam or gengar focus sashed. These both hit extremely hard and can outspeed mostly everything. Sub+ leftovers are also viable. Aegislash is great. And then just look for 2 more mons that can average out the weaknesses in your team.

Cool I was hoping to not run talonflame as I have grown to hate seeing it in meta but I'm trying to respectable in competition and maybe the championship series, I will start building this team soon as I finish yellow... should prolly finish O ruby too but can't find the motivation lol thanks for the tips
