Anyone around here like techno, electronica, house, etc?

Right now, my favorite groups are Lasgo and Darude, though I'm starting to get interested in Ian Van Dahl and Cascada...

Apparently Depeche Mode is considered electronica, and they're one of my favorites.

Techno is my favorite genre of music. I like Aqua, ATC, DHT, Cascada, Dune, Bad Boys Blue, and a bunch of stuff from DDR.

Well,Squarepusher has been my favorite anything electronica since '99.The man is just a musical genius IMO.And he's an amazing bass guitar player to boot.

Other than that, can't say I'm really knowledgeable about the genre.I mostly have favorite songs instead of having favorite artists per se.I only know Darude through "Sandstorm",and I do like some of the more mainstream artists like Paul Van Dyk or Paul Oakenfold.Other notables are Aphrodite ("Summer Breeze") and AK1200 ("Drowning").

Although I have to say I'm *really* digging Pendulum at the moment, these guys may become my 2nd favorite electronica artists. With the exception of "Taruntula",Hold You Colour for the most part is a very good album. Some of my favorite songs include "Slam","Plasticworld","Sounds of Life" (really good...),and "Hold Your Colour" just to name a few.

I also like Sandstorm. I haven't heard some of those songs, I'll have to download them.

Neku, can you give me reccomendations for some songs I should listen to? I can give you a list of my current mix if you'd like some songs that I reccomend, though to warn you I listen mostly to Happy Hardcore and Happy House.

Bang!- Shooting Star
Deejay Bee & Overflow- Sunrise
Fragma- Every Time You Need Me
Hit'n'Hide- Space Invaders
Ian Van Dahl- Castles in the Sky
Nakatomie- Children of the Night
Snap- I've Got the Power
Utah Saints- Something Good
Venga Boys- Sex on the Beach
Megumi Hayashibara- Breeze
Megumi Hayashibara & Okui Masami- Sleepless Nights

I'm especially super obsessed over Space Invaders and Sunrise right now.

Anything Cascada is good, but "Neverending Dream" is my favorite- it's upbeat and really, really catchy, but gets overlooked because of "Everytime we Touch"- although if you can find an original version of that- not the album version- you'll be hooked on it, since it's got a far faster BPM. "Kids in America" is pretty nice too, as far as techno covers go.

Oh, and "Love Paradise" by DJ Sammy.

Lasgo's awesome too.

The only ones I've heard of on your list are Hayashibara and Ian Van Dahl (who is also awesome.) The US needs more decent techno acts. And what is "happy hardcore/happy house"?

And Nomekop, Darude is definitely worth a look. Most of their stuff is instrumental, so if you've got a low tolerance for pretty female vocals, it's excellent. I'd also recommend Darude to those new to trance/techno, since it's not too heavy.

Look up the songs on my list and listen to them and you'll know what happy hardcore and happy house are. But for another way of explaining it...you know DDR? Pretty much all the songs in that are happy house. Cascada and DJ Sammy are also happy house. Try listening to Sunrise by Deejay Bee and Overflow, that's happy hardcore.
