The Harbor Tragedy

The Harbor Tragedy

It was another fine day in Castelia City, and the two Zuru Parents decided to take their son Timothy for a walk. "Where do you want to go, Timothy?" asked Jasmine. He responded, "Let's go watch the boats!" "Alright, Timmy, let's head over to the harbor!" And the three of them went on their ways.

The Castelia Harbor was about 10 minutes from their quaint alleyway home, but the heat made it feel like longer. Rusty was used to this, but Jasmine was sweating more than a Cryogonal being melted. But they soon arrived at the harbor, and they watched as the boats went by. It was nice and cool by the water, too. But when Rusty was looking at the corner, he saw something. "Hold on, I'm gonna see what's happening over there." When he walked over, he was horrified. A Lucario and a Machamp were beating up a Linoone right in front of her Zigzagoon children. "Ha, these things are weak! Pickup this!" exclaimed the Lucario. The Linoone had blood all over her face, but she was determined to protect her young. Then the Machamp said, "She's not backing down. I guess I'll hit it where it hurts; all right kids, it's clobbering time!" The Linoone let out a desperate yell as the Machamp was heading towards the innocent young. Rusty decided he couldn't watch anymore, he punched the Machamp right up his back! Both it and the Lucario turned around, allowing the Linoone and kids to escape. "Augh, what the hell? And who are you?" The heroic Scrafty then looked him straight in the eye and said, "I'm Rusty, and I'm going to teach you sick bastards a lesson."

By now Jasmine and Timothy had heard the ruckus and had come to see that Rusty was now square-against a massive Machamp. "Oh, a Scrafty, eh? The name's Brute, and this Lucario over here is Otis." said Brute. "You people think you're all tough and such! What a joke. I've never lost a battle before in my life. And if you're wondering why that Linoone was beat up, she looked at us the wrong way. Anyone who looks at us wrong suffers!" Rusty still could not believe this mentality, and was ready to strike. But Machamp turned his eye towards Jasmine. "Oh, look, the Scrafty has a girlfriend! And, oh, look, a little baby Scraggy of theirs! Alright, Otis, hit him where it hurts!" At this second, Rusty realized their true motives and tried to rush over to protect Timothy, but it was too late. Otis used ExtremeSpeed to warp to Timmy, and then he punched him up into the air. Jasmine screamed out in terror, but was soon kicked to the ground by Otis. He then shot a purple Aura Sphere at little Timothy, and the boy hit the ground hard. "There, that should finish him." said Otis. Rusty ran over to his son, and looked down at him. Timothy was still moving, but he was in a lot of pain. It was then that Rusty noticed Timothy had been hit by a Toxic Aura Sphere, and then Timothy said "Daddy… it hurts, daddy… I want to see mommy's face too." Soon after that, Jasmine got up and ran towards him. With a hug, she said "Oh, Timothy, it's going to be all right." Rusty looked up at Jasmine and then realized she had a huge gash on her face. She wasn't even bothered by it, though, all they both cared about was Timothy's help. With a cough, Timothy said "Thanks, mommy and daddy. I can see the boats, coming right now…" And then Timothy eyes closed. Rusty was still in a massive state of shock, and both him and Jasmine started to cry. The skies turned dark and rain started to fall, though even the heavenly rains couldn't match the grief that they felt. Somehow, they could still tell that their son was alive, but he didn't have much time left. Rusty cursed the skies and the air for allowing this to happen, and then, in a quiet voice, told Jasmine "Take him to a Center, find help, anything. Just make sure that he lives." With tears still down her face, she gently took Timothy and ran to the Center. Then, from the distance, Brute yelled "Ha! How pathetic, you care about that wimp! And forcing your wife to find help, what a joke!" Rusty then looked up at Brute and, after about five seconds of staring said "You selfish, heartless, unloving mad man, I love my son more than anything in the world. But the reason I didn't go is because I want to make sure none of you or your friend's atoms exist ever again." Then Rusty rushed forwards, and then jumped up at Brute.

The battle had begun, the battle of Rusty's life.

Rusty started off with a Brick Break, but Brute blocked it with his bare arms. Brute's two other arms then punched him in the face, and Rusty flew back and incredible distance. He braced himself for impact, and boosted forward on the building's side. Rusty's teeth began to sharpen, as he was preparing for a Crunch. It hit Brute hard, and left an open opportunity for him to hit. He then smacked Brute with another Brick Break. Brute slid back, and then the pressure changed in the air. He screamed, "Those tactics will do you no good!", and smoke started to gather around him. Rusty realized this was Revenge, and he got into a defensive position. Brute charged forwards, and Rusty tried to push him back. They slid back over thirty feet, literally creating sparks in the ground. Brute was panting, and Rusty then smacked him with a Poison Jab. Luckily, this attack did poison Brute; but Otis, after seeing this, rushed over and leaped into the air. He then started to glow a pinkish-red, then shot a wave at Brute. "Heal Pulse, I should've known" said Rusty. All the bruises Brute received were nullified, and then he said, "Nice job, Otis! As for you, little twerp, you're going down!" Then he rushed forwards so fast that Rusty couldn't even see him. The second later, he was hit by a DynamicPunch, straight to the chest.

When he got up, part of Rusty's crest was cracked, but that didn't deter him. He went for another Poison Jab, but Brute didn't even flinch at it. Brute then rushed towards Rusty, and started to rapidly punch. Rusty was merely a punching bag to him. After about 10 seconds of continuous punches, he finally stopped. Rusty, battered and bruised terribly, puked up tons of blood. Damn, I have to find a way to stop him, he thought. He then looked over and had an idea. "What are you gonna do now, wimp?" said Brute. "I'm going to beat you, that's what" responded Rusty. He then ran away from Brute and towards Otis.

Otis quickly realized what he was planning and charged up a Dragon Pulse. Rusty sharpened his teeth again and went for a Crunch. Except this time, it was on Otis' paw. Otis shot the Dragon Pulse while he was still gripped on, and Rusty used the poison from his throat to absorb it. He then ripped off Otis' paw with his mighty grip, and Otis immediately screamed out. Blood poured out from where his limb once was, and Rusty spit the decapitated body part into the ocean. Otis then shouted "Dam… dam… DAMN YOU TO HELL!!!" He ExtremeSpeeded over to Rusty and began to kick like crazy, but Rusty was able to evade these strikes. "You're far too slow" said Rusty, and he then grabbed Otis by the neck. With a mighty crack, he killed off Otis. Rusty, with blood all over his body, turned his head towards Brute. Brute still had a massive look of shock over his face. He had lost his one partner, all because of his negligence to even care about his defense. And with only two words, Rusty sent a feeling of fear and anger into Brute:

"You're next."

With that, Rusty rushed forwards to Brute, but Brute quickly came to his senses and held back the hit. He had a more desperate look into his eyes, but didn't seem to show much sorrow towards the lost of his friend. But he was getting stronger, much stronger. "You were able to take down Otis, but you don't have a chance in hell for defeating me!" His four fists then started to spin and spin, and then he propelled himself towards Rusty. These spinning punches hit Rusty repeatedly, over four at a time. After about 10 seconds of the beating, Rusty then fell backwards. He was immobile for about five seconds, but got up and rolled to the side just as Brute dashed at him with a Mega Punch. They fought and fought and fought, but both were completely even to one another. With blood and many bruises all over both of their bodies, Rusty, while repeatedly panting, said, "We can't keep this up for much longer. Let's finish this up once and for all." "All right, let's do this." said Brute. They both slowly stepped back, and at the same exact second, they lunged at each other. Rusty went into a headbutting pose, ready to hit him with Head Smash, his last-resort move. Brute's fist started to glow; he was going for four DynamicPunches at a time. These two almighty attacks connected, and a cloud of smoke shot out. When the smoke cleared, there was only one victor.

"Nice… shot…" Rusty said, and he had multiple bruises and many broken limbs.

"You…two…" Brute said, but he was much worse. With massive amounts of blood coming from his broken ribcage, he fell hard to the ground.

Rusty then hobbled slowly away, but then Brute shouted out, "Wait." Rusty turned his head and saw a look of sentiment in his eyes.

"Before I die, I need to tell you something." With tears coming to his eyes, he shouted, "Don't… don't… Don't let your kid end up like us!"

Rusty looked shocked. He then stood and heard Brute's story.

"My original trainer… he was vicious. He hooked me as a newborn Machop up to these horrible machines that gave us immense power but caused me terrible pain. He slaved us to death, ignoring any status effect in the gain of 'perfect stats.' One night, I tried to escape, and he sent his two Houndoom to beat me to death. But one day, I evolved all the way to a Machamp, and you know what I did? I killed him. I threw his body out the window, but then realized my actions. The only way I knew from then on was violence, and I started to beat up on other innocent Pokemon. I originally had a group of over four, and Otis was the last one. I had become so attached to violence that my terrible actions had passed on over to the other members of my team. I never thought Otis would actually harm any of the kids, I just used the phrase 'Hit 'em where it hurts' to get the parents to fight more. But when Otis actually attacked your kid, my eyes were opened up, and I realized that my violent actions were absolutely deplorable. When fighting you, my inner deception was trying to get its one last grasp onto me, but it did me no good. I regret never doing anything right in my life. You can kill me off right now. Just do it, I have nothing left."

Rusty looked at him, and he felt his sentiment. It was then he decided:

"No, I won't kill you off. Your ribcage is barely functional anymore, I'll just let the Mandibuzz finish you off. If you manage to live, never return anywhere near me and my family ever again."

Brute responded, with fading breath, "I see it that way, then. But let me leave you with my word of warning again: don't let your son end up like me. He's a good kid, treat him with respect…"

Rusty then stood there, and with a saddening look on his face, said:

"I will."

He then slowly stuttered away as the harsh rain hit Brute's motionless body.
________________________________________________________________________

3 days after the incident, both Rusty and Timothy were released from the Center. "I can't believe your boy survived and recovered this fast; that was a brutal attack." said one of the Audinos. Rusty was on crutches and had a couple of bandages and a black eye, but otherwise, he was back to health. The doors to the back flung open and there was Timothy with Jasmine behind him, running forwards. "Daddy, you're alive!" He jumped up and hugged Rusty right in the big chest, and ignored his broken arm and multiple stiches. Rusty looked at his son and held him deeply, remembering Brute's final words: 'He's a good kid, treat him with respect.'
With tears flowing from all parts of the family, Rusty said:

"I'm so happy, Timothy…"

Rusty goes to the Carnival

Rusty goes to the Carnival

It was another boring day in Rusty and Jasmine's house. Everyone on their block was at the Pokeatholon Dome to watch the Murkrow race, which all Scraftys have a hate against. Rusty was eating some chips on the bench, and Jasmine was watching over Timothy.

Timothy, who was more awake than any of his parents, asked Jasmine "Mommy, what are we gonna do today?" Jasmine responded, "Well, your father isn't doing a thing, so why not talk to him?" "He never wants to do anything with me, he says everything I do is boring", Timothy proclaimed. Jasmine then had an idea come to her head. "Tell you what, I'm going to make sure that your father will get to know you better!" She then called out, "Rusty, come here a minute." With a loud groan, he came over. "What do you want now, honey?" She then slapped him in the face. "You never do anything with Timothy, you're too busy lounging around after fights. Why don't you get to know him better? Why not take him to a carnival or something?" With the mention of the word Carnival, Timothy shot up and shouted "Carnival! Carnival!" Rusty, without any real choice, said, "Fine, I'll go." Timothy's face lit up and he got all ready all by himself.

About an hour later, they had arrived at the Nimbasa City Carnival. Timothy was overwhelmed with pure joy and awe; there were so many attractions, which one to take first: the Ferris Wheel, the Neon Roller Coaster, the Clown Show, or the Mirror House? Rusty, wanting to be done as fast as possible, said, "Alright, Tims, which ride do you wanna go on?" Timothy then decided, "I wanna go on the Roller Coaster first!" The two of them went into line, and after 10 minutes, got on. The coaster took incredible turns and almost went upside-down. Timothy was having a lot of fun, but Rusty was feeling queasy. After the ride, Rusty ran to the trash can and puked poison all on it. He felt much better after that. He then said. "Okay, Tims, I think we've had enough fun already, so…" But then Timothy said, "Look daddy! Let's go on that ride!" It was another roller coaster, except it was made of wood and it was outside. Rusty groaned, "Ugh, that ride looks the same as the other one." Timothy then complained "But everyone is riding it! Can we go on it, please?" With a large sigh, Rusty said "Oh, alright; but I'm only doing this for you, you know that?" With Timothy dragging Rusty by the paws, they darted off.

On this ride, Rusty didn't even get queasy. The two of them went on many other rides as the day went buy, and Rusty was even starting to enjoy himself. At the end of the day, they had been on all but one ride: the Ferris Wheel. "Hey, we haven't gone on that one yet! Can we ride it, daddy?" Timothy said. "Sure, son, but this is the last one for today." Rusty responded. About five minutes later they boarded the wheel. Halfway to the top, Timothy said "You know what, daddy? I was wrong about you. You do care about me and I've had lots of fun today." With a hug to his dad, he said "I love you, daddy." Rusty then looked at his only son, and thought about all of the ignorance he had to him. With tears his eyes, he embraced Timothy's hug, and they watched as the sun set, together.
