I'd like to note before-hand that this rpg has some elements of a pokemon game that I posted about on pokemon community. It's not a rip-off since I'm the author of both. I even use the same screen name. This post is also a lot more detailed from the short plot I posted in the RPG thread, so it's going to look a lot different at first.

Description: The pokemon world is in trouble again. It seems the line to try to rule the world is forever long. This time, though, it's going to take a lot more than one protagonist to save the pokemon world, because whoever's doing it has his hands in a lot of cookie jars, so to speak.
The pokemon world has been hit with a new strain of pokerus, only this one is far from helpful. The new strain has the same effects on pokemon as the Poison status does, only it effects all pokemon, even wild ones, and is so contagious that only a few minutes of exposure can infect a pokemon with it. While a pokemon CAN be healed at a pokemon center to full health after being infected, the pokeflu (what the new virus is being called) doesn't go away and will evenually wittle the pokemon's health down again. The virus has spread all across the pokemon world in record time, with only a few remaining uninfected do to isolation. It won't remain that way for long though, because even people can carry the virus (they only suffer mild effects though). The worst part is, it was man-made, but nobody knows that part yet. So who made this atrocity?
Well, that's up to the players to find out. But upon their arrival in Pallet Town, they find out why. Each player has been teleported from their respective normal lives to the pokemon world, and the good Professor Oak knows that the only pokemon capable of doing something like that is Palkia, Master of Space, and that the only reason Palkia would do something like that is if it was in grave danger and wasn't capable of returning to his own dimension to escape it. Some human must be behind it. The players must travel to Sinnoh to find the man and stop him to get back home...or not. ;)

Sign up here if you want to play. More plots to follow for players who want to stick around in the pokemon world.

Notes: in case the pokedex is mentioned at any point, both Nidoran have the same pokedex number now. I see no reason to keep them seperate. Since the only way pokemon develop is through evolving (i'm not talkin about getting bigger, i mean stuff like changing shape) it follows that Kangaskhan should have a baby-type since there's no way "small and purple" becomes "huge and brown" without evolving in the pokemon world. Kangaskhan's baby form is Ghengy (Ghengis+Joey, a baby kangaroo, named in the same fashion as Kangaskhan, kangaroo+Ghengis Khan). It evolves through friendship.

New regions and new pokemon aren't allowed unless they are fully developed and their use is unanimously agreed upon.

This sounds interesting. Any template I should follow to post myself as a character? Also, what starters will we be choosing from? All generation's or just R/B/Y, since we're being greeted by Oak? (That's more for other interested parties than myself, since I already know who I'm going with)

I'm interested in joining as well. Same questions as above apply.

awsome. wasn't sure if anyone would join. Here's the template:

Name: (you can use a fake one but I'd like you all to act like yourselves so we can consentrate more one the story than character development)
Appearance:
Age: (this will effect how NPCs treat you in the game. if you're 18 and incompetant you're going to look worse than someone they expect to be incompetent, like a ten-yr-old beginner.)
Starter Pokemon: (either Bulbasaur, Squirtle, or Charmander for the first three that sign up w/ the template, after that I randomly pick for you off Bulbapedia's list of the pokemon Oak keeps in his lab--pokemon like Caterpie and such)
What you were doing when you were teleported to Pokeland: (this will be your rp sample)

Here are the pokemon that will be available for late-comers (to keep things simple I'm only gonna let up to 5 people join, otherwise we'll be all over the place with posts. You also have to be approved by moi to get in:
Kakuna (taken)
Pidgey (taken)
Caterpie
Metapod
Rattata
Tentacool
Poliwag
Weedle
Meowth (taken)

To be fair, here's my template (will finish later. gotta run):
Name: Coral
Appearance: Short in stature, red curly hair, medium body weight, in a t-shirt, jeans, and flipflops
Age: 18
Starter Pokemon: I'll pick after you guys pick
What you were doing when you were teleported to Pokeland: Endless bibliographies, a faulty printer, and work on Sunday, plus church, which only left Friday and Saturday to get everything half-way done and hope the teacher would give her an extension because of her workload and freakin uncooperative computer. Sigh. Another day in the life of Coral. all this crap to get done and no time to do it in. That's what she got for trying to take highschool AND college classes. She was going absolutely nuts. The only time she had with her white DS lite was to set the alarm on it for school every night. It sucked. Every once in a while she just sat there and yelled when nobody else was home to let her frustrations out. it was during one of these times that everything around her kinda went blank. no, not black, blank. As in, totally and absolutely beyond any realm of perception. And then suddenly she was standing in the middle of Pallet Town.

Name: Jay
Appearance: Average height, medium length (for a male) dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, light complexion, dark-rimmed square frame glasses, navy blue shirt, forest green shorts, and brown non-flipflop sandals.
Age: 22
Starter Pokemon: Charmander
What you were doing when you were teleported to Pokeland: Clack clack clack.

The sound of repeated tapping of the keys was the only sound in the room, reverberating softly in the ears of the bleary-eyed young man. Barely awake, a foreign presence lightly applied pressure to a portion of his brain, which beckoned for him to return to sleep and rest away the day. He refused, of course, preferring to spend the morning on his beat-up, elderly laptop. Numerous documents and webpages remained open as he switched between his writing, browsing his favorite websites, checking his email accounts, and other assorted tasks. Next to him sat his other primary method of entertainment – a small, black Nintendo DS, complete with a certain Emerald-Colored Cartridge in the GBA slot.

He stifled a yawn as he diverted his attention to the clock, which read 8:29 AM. Too damn early. He wouldn’t call himself an insomniac, but the brown-eyed lad hated wasting time on sleep.

Of course, none of that mattered a few moments later as a strange and unusual feeling overcame his body. It was almost indescribable, something beyond the realm of human of thoughts and words. It could be likened to the sensation one obtains when a part of their body ‘falls asleep’ – a numb, unusually cold sensation that slowly spread from his legs upwards. But that wasn’t it. There were other things associated with this feeling. For one, separation and expansion. Yes,, it almost felt as if his ‘conciousness’ was no longer in his head, but all around him – as though his body was no longer contained to the chair but had, in fact, expanded to include all of his immediate surroundings And lastly, there was a real, honest feeling of a farewell to what he’d always known. Of saying goodbye to the mundane world he’d grown up in. A moment later and he was no longer there.

(Can I join? Maybe you could let more then five people join, after all, I've seen RPGs that get along fine with twenty or more players)

Name: (I'll use my pokeverse name to keep things privite) Lelsey.
Appearance: As a human she had brown hair, but in the pokemon world, she was blue hair. She wears a tye-die bandana, a red summer top and blue jeans.
Age: 12
Starting pokemon: Meowth.
What you where doing when you where teleported to Pokeland:

The light flashed on a dirty DS light as Lesley trained her Meowth, Nugget, on her
Pearl version. The Meowth was newly hatched from her Persian Mulgar. Suddenly, a light flashed from the sky outside her bedroom window. The sky was opening up to reveal what looked like a thunder storm. The next thing she knew, the world was absorbed by a blinding white light. Then everthing went dark.

@Gythion: Approved. Awsome description.

@GSC: This is supposed to be a direct transfer from the real-world to the pokemon one. Hair color doesn't change and certainly species doesn't.
(I've NEVER managed more than 6 in a single thread before--and i've been doing this years. How do you manage 20??)

Lynn creed, I'm trying to keep my appearance to myself. And when did I say anything about Species?

"As a human she had brown hair, but in the pokemon world, she was blue hair. She wears a tye-die bandana, a red summer top and blue jeans. "

You make it sound like you're not human anymore. And it's fine if you want to use a fake appearance, I'm just saying that you wouldn't have blue hair in the pokemon world. It would be brown, like you described.

Wait, do you count as a member? Because if not I'd like to be member #5 (if you're still doing the 5 person total thing)

As far as I know she counts as a member (not sure if she changed her mind about joining), but that doesn't stop you from joining. You'd be the 5th person to post here. Go ahead and apply. :)

Name: Joe McCord
Appearance: Of average height and slightly wide build, I have long-ish brown hair (trying to grow a ponytail) My face looks like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v252/42631/LuxordHead.jpg. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v252/42631/Me.gif Add to the clothes in the picture a Trenchcoat (not like the Matrix, like this one: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v252/42631/MeasLuxord.jpg) and instead of a black dress shirt, make it a red sweatshirt. I also wear sunglasses on my forehead.
Age: 19
Starter Pokemon: Pidgey, I suppose (I wanted Charmander, dangit)
What you were doing when you were teleported to Pokeland: "Alright," Joe muttered as he turned on his DS. "Lent's finally over, so I can get back to training you guys. Rae-chan'll probably wanna shine my badges, so I'll save them for her." As the title screen came up, he did a slight double-take. "Hold the phone... I have Diamond, why is Palkia on the screen?"

As he reached for his "Ultimate National Pokedex" to see if it was a documented glitch, the screens on his DS began glowing brighter and brighter. He got his book in a tight grip just moments before he vanished, his room returning to it's usual darkness...

Name: Gray
Appearance: Shaggy black hair almost covering equally black eyes. He wears a loose fitting jeans and a T-shirt covered in the latest trends.
Age: 14
Starter Pokemon: Kakuna

The sound the bustling middle-schoolers once again filled the halls, signaling the end of another long week of school. and seemingly in the center of all of this chaos lies Gray; however, the chaos was nothing new for him. With the upcoming weekend on his mind, he boarded the school bus for the short ride back to his house. With a few words muttered to the bus riders, he exited the bus walked through the front door of his house. After exchanging subtle greetings to his parents, he headed upstairs to his room, all part of his normal routine. Gray's life was full of routine, unquestioned, unchallenged routine, and he never imagined it any other way. As soon as he walked in, he jumped on his bed and flipped on his T.V., just like every other weekend; but this day seemed different. He didn't know how or why it was different, but he couldn't help but feel that it would affect the routine that he'd been practicing for months. It was this very notion that compelled him to look out his window, and as he did, his routine seemed to vanish along with everything else in sight, swallowed by an odd, white light that carried with it an odd feeling of bliss and confusion, all at the same time.

Gythion, The Ancient Minister, and Megidrazard, all of you are approved. Still waiting on the application fix by GSC Junky and the application from Harry Blue5. once I get those we can get rolling. Until then, here are the "rules" (if you disagree with any of them feel free to tell me. I run a democracy here, but I'll pull rank as gm when needed):

There are no HMs. If a pokemon is capable of flying and carrying your weight too, I don't see why it would need to be taught to do so. I also don't see the point in teaching, say, a Scyther how to Cut when he has freakin blades for arms, and I don't see why a fire type trainer couldn't just burn the bush down. If it makes sense, go ahead and do it. You don't need an HM to make a pokemon do what they should already be able to do.

The 4-moves limit was probably to preserve memory space in the games. In the anime I've seen pokemon use like 6 moves (a guestimate) in the same episode. So just go ahead and add the moves instead of replacing them. I mean, if a Sandshrew has a pile of sand in front of him I seriously doubt he's so retarded that he can't remember how to fling it at an opponent just because he learned roll-out a level ago.

Speaking of that, SOME moves that a pokemon can't normally learn in the games will be allowed at my disgression. If I'm battling with an Electrike on a beach I'm pretty sure it would take about 3 second to teach him to turn around and kick sand at an opponent for Sand Attack. On a related note, if the move is something a human could pull off (sand attack, headbutt) you can go ahead and teach it to your pokemon if it makes sense. Like in the episode where Misty is trying to teach Togepi Headbutt.

One more thing about moves: If you're battling inside and there's a clean floor it makes no sense to be able to use Sand Attack. Likewise, unless you're in a cave or on a mountin Rockslide doesn't make a lot of sense either. I'm letting you guys add moves instead of replacing them, so I'd like to not hear any whining about this: if it doesn't make sense, you can't use it.

I'd prefer it if every pokemon center and police station didn't have a Jenny or Joy clone, but that's my preference.

All of the above are pretty much just suggestions rather than rules. If you don't like the changes just tell me and we'll drop them.

This rule I'm gonna be kinda strict on though:

For this rpg there will be what I call a "post order". Here's what I mean:

GSC Junky begins the rp with the first post (for example), I post next, then The Ancient Minister. If there's only 3 of us, that means it's GSC Junky's turn again. We'll go round and round like that. Why? Well, if two people are on and the third can't post until tomorrow, it keeps the first two from running off with the rp. Nobody likes to come back to a thread where your character has been ignored for a week and nobody knows what s/he's been doing.

Exceptions: If my character says something to GSC Junky's character, it dosen't make sense for her character to wait five minutes to respond. So, if one character directly addresses another, the other can respond immidiately no matter who's turn it was. But after that person responds we go back to the turns thing.

So what happens if someone's out for a while? If someone's out for too long we'll skip them at my disgression, and/or write them out (kill their charrie or g-mode them out of the storyline) if neccessary.

Oh yeah, nobody's allowed to g-mode (if you don't know what that means pm me).

So what happens if there's a long conversation between two characters where they would be addressing each other over and over? Do we still skip everyone else's turn? A max of three posts back and forth (that means total, not 3 for person A and 3 for person B), then we go back to turns. This is to allow for the other people in the rp to post interruptions to the conversation if they want, or for me to interrupt with an event. If no one wants to interrupt or join the conversation that's going on, you can continue your conversatoin and keep skipping turns.

Any questions?

sorry for the double-post, but as GM I need to get things organized.

I have no way to contact Harry Blue5 to remind him to post an application and it appears that GSC Junky has changed her mind since she's ignored this thread for a few days. As such, this rp is open to 2 more players.

Will there be any roleplay in this thread? (there haven't been a reply in a few days...)
If it's gonna happen, i'll join.

I was planning on it. Go ahead and sign up. If no one else signs up by Wednesday we'll start without a full sign-up)

I was wondering, Lynn-san, since several of us were holding DSs when we were teleported, would we still have them with us? Or would all we really have be the clothes that we were wearing.

Name: Matt Leingod
Appearance: http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh35/Meggido360/fum4.jpg (not too far off this image just different clothes
Age: 19
Starter Pokemon: Squirtle (can i still choose squirtle? if not whatever you choose will be cool)
What you were doing when you were teleported to Pokeland:
As he arrived home from his job he decided to get his DS out and start playing Pearl until he wanted to figure out how to beed a Munchlax so he turned mhis computer on and a bunch of strange numbers and shapes began to appear on the computers screen. At this point the DS started to make odd noises, and starting to get worried he turned his DS off and then back on again. When he did this Palkia appeared striking a response from the young man, "What the heck? Palkia isn't supposed to be on the screen yet, and why isn't he just a shadow he's in full color. And what in the world is wrong with this stupid computer!?" He said hitting the computer trying to make it work better. when his fist came in contact with it the screen solidified and a picture of a Palkia appeared. "What.....in.....the.....world?" He said his head creeping closer there was a voice though he couldn't under stand it it seemed to be coming from his.....computer screen?
He reached out and touched the screen, at the time of contact a bright blinding flash engulfed the boy and the surroundings, when the light faded only the warmth from his body was left coming off of the seat in which he had been sitting no light just darkness and no DS.
