Recently my little sister managed to snag a copy of the final Tenchi Muyo series "tenchi in tokyo" from ebay. I had watched the original series and found it to be extremly funny and interesting with special mention to my fav char Mihoshi who was so adorable... Anyway next came two of the movies tenchi muyo the movie and Tenchi in Love.
I found tenchi the movie to be very enjoyable Kain was an extremly good villan and the reaction Ryoko first got when she walks into the school yard was so funny. Tenchi in love however while it was interesting was very strange for my liking i mean Tenchi and his almost Grandma? no thankyou.
So needless to say i was looking forward to seeing this series and for the most i highly enjoyed it. Despite the lack of fight scenes (excluding the first episode, Washus saki had me in stiches) the series managed to grab my interest. I fell for Sakuya hook line and sinker she was so loveable. The whole series had me unable to turn away from the comical blunders of the girls trying to find part time jobs (million million million!) To Ryoko's big date my only one complaint would have to be the ending.
After Yosho and Washu put this huge enphasis on how much tenchi dislikes violence however must fight to destroy yugi what happens? One bitch slap and i cheesy "its alright to feel alone" speech thats what! Yes i am aware of the importance the emphasis held however you'd think they'd promote the final battle i little better then that!
All and all the series was a good one excluding the final battle scene i am not ashamed to admit i almost cried when Sakuya told Tenchi to leave her and go fight Yugi anwyay what was everyone elses opinion?
