A Boulder, CO man was hospitalized after he was hit by a train while walking his bicycle across a railroad bridge in Boulder, Colo., early Wednesday, about six hours after he was hit by a car, local station KMGH reported. Police said it was the second trip to the emergency room in six hours for the man. He is reported in stable condition.

According to police, Robert Evans, 46, was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Tuesday night around 10:00 PM, while riding his bicycle at the intersection of Folsom Street and Canyon Boulevard in Boulder. Police are looking for the driver who left the scene.

Evans was released from the hospital at 3 AM and was heading back to his camp outside town when he was hit by the train. According to authorities, he was clipped by an empty Burlington Northern Santa Fe coal train. Since Evans was crossing a bridge barred to pedestrians at the time of the accident, he is facing a possible ticket for trespassing.

...and facing a ticket taboot...man, that's just...not good.

Hit by two trains? And they say that riding your bike is healthy...

No, hit by a car and then a train. Talk about bad luck...or being not all there in the head. Seriously, the car I can sort of get, but who doesn't notice a freakin' train coming at you?! Especially since you're crossing at a point that's barred to civilians. If it's blocked off, didn't he wonder if there might possibly be a reason for that? Sheesh...

I read it wrong. I thought it said he was hit by a train, then a car, then another train...

Talk about a bad day.
It reminds me of what happened to my friend. She was playing volleyball when one of the other girls spiked the ball on her left right eye. Then it just so happens a bee came by and stung her at the exact same place. And if that was enough. When she went out of the volleyball court someone from the tennis court hits the ball way out and proceeds to hit her again on that eye. So she was were stiches for along while.

This was on the front page of the Denver Post this weekend, it's weird seeing local news make national headlines o.0

This. I feel really bad for the guy, but the whole thing seems odd. Trains tend to make quite a bit of noise, you'd think he would've found some way of getting away in time. Or it could have all been prevented by not going somewhere he shouldn't have been in the first place.

Dang, though. Poor guy. Talk about an unlucky day.

That's just weird. Maybe the bike is the bad luck. He should ditch it and start taking the bus.
