Hello, everyone!

I'm a 25-year-old who's been a fan of Pokemon since the debut in the West back in '98 when I was just 10 years old. Currently, I live in South Korea (in Uni, I majored in Japanese and Korean, and I plan on moving back to Japan sometime in 2014). I'm here "testing the waters" to see if these forums are a good fit for me. I'm mostly looking to meet others around my age who might be interested in Pokemon as we all gear up for the release of X and Y. I have a few friends, maybe 4-5 of them that will be getting X or Y, but I figured knowing 10 or 20 would be a lot more fun than just 4!

Anyway, if you're one of the older fans like me, and/or you're in Japan/Korea like me, make sure to mention it! If not, nice to meet you all!

Wow, thanks for all the welcomes! I'm glad to see more fans my age! Also, I thought I'd clarify my username so it can be easier to remember. It's a combination of "Leo" and "oculus", meaning "lion" and "eye". I chose those words because I'm interested in astronomy, and the sun was in the eye of the constellation Leo when I was born. I don't really subscribe to astrology, but I thought that was pretty cool.

So what is everyone into here? More competitive Pokemon battling? Just making a fun team? Catching 'em all? TCG? This past week I've been breeding for IVs on a Luxray, 118 eggs in and I've already got 2/3 of the stat I want at 31.

Welcome to the forums, Leocul! We have a lot of people with different interests, so you'll probably find a group of people that shares the same interests as you. Also, you might want this.

Heya Leocul! It's always great to see a new face around in bmgf, so I'm definitely happy to see you've joined here. :3 Out of curiosity, what is living in South Korea like, if I may ask? I'm in the US here (Florida, specifically), so what comes to mind when I think of Korea is just huge cities and a dense population, but I can be wrong, of course. xD But I'm sure you'll find people your age here that like Pokemon. One thing I've learned while being here at bmgf is that there's a very wide age range here, as this place is pretty diverse. ^^;

In any case, have fun posting around here, yeah? n__n

Thanks to everyone else for the welcomes.

Living in Korea is interesting, I don't really know how to describe it though... Things are just different, sometimes it's nice, like new foods that you don't see in the US very often or McDonalds delivering. But sometimes it's annoying and I miss the US, like the almost complete lack of any deli-meat other than sliced ham or the anti-Japanese racism. But, it's an experience.

Thanks! Actually, I'm not Korean, I'm American. But I currently live in Korea.

Oh really? :D There aren't that many Koreans in this site, so I was thrilled to see that you were living in Korea. I hope you like living in Korea!!

I enjoy it a lot (most of the time, lol)! ^_^
Do you live in Korea as well?

Oh, that's nice! I'm teaching at a hagwon now, but back in 2011 I came to Korea to study for a semester at Yonsei. I miss college life, but I really enjoy getting paychecks too... lol.
