Do you know what it's like to listen to a song when you suddenly hear a line and you think "That doesn't sound right..."?
You probably misunderstood that sentence (or you're listening to some weird music...). This thread has been created specifically for you to share these experiences with the world!

For instance, my most memorable misinterpretation of a line in a song is from Brian Adams's Summer of 69. I initially thought the first line of the song was:

"I got my first real sex dream"
._.

That doesn't sound right...
It actually is "I got my first real six-string", as I found out later. Well, what do you expect, with a title like that...

So now it's your turn! Tell everyone your misinterpretations of songs here!

I think my biggest misinterpretation was in "Dirty Little Secret" by The All-American Rejects. The actual line in the song is "I go around a time or two", but for the longest time (like years) I thought it was "I go around and tie my shoes".

It didn't help that pretty much everyone I knew also thought those were the words. :p

Katy B's Easy Please Me is the biggest one.

What I thought I heard:
Now one thing I can't stand is Africans
There's no way that we would ever get along

What I actually heard:
Now one thing I can't stand is arrogance
There's no way that we would ever get along

For a long time I thought the chorus to U2's "Sunday Bloody Sunday" was "Someday, Buddy, Someday".

I still dont know what it is, but the Harmony of Rolling in the deep still sounds like

"Tears of butter fall, ever had a wet dream"

A little... weird.
