I'm sure this has been asked before but I really haven't found any info on it and have been curious for some time. What exactly is that thing supposed to be? Is there any real-life equivelent or is it something that they made up (for WHATEVER reason)

I also think I saw a long time ago a scan where it showed Ruby's closet and he had a bunch of them. (I think) If anyone could provide me with that scan I'd be greatful.

Infact I've been meaning to find a scan of Ruby's mother in PokeSpecial too, so if you have that I'd also like it. :p

It's a hat of some kind. The reason why Ruby wears it... well, one is two hide the scar, and two is to play down the resemblence to Senri. Maybe. He was wearing that hat before he even got the scar or started hating his father.
 
I realise it's a hat, I just have never seen anything like it before- I'd assume they'd base his 'hat' off of something in real life which is why I ask.

And he has a scar, where?
 
I think the scar is on the right side of his forehead.

He got it when he protected Sapphire from a Salamence when they were young.
 
I can take a picture of the page with my digital camera, but I don't have a scanner. Would that be good enough?
 
Sure, I'm not looking for High-resolution scans, just pictures that I can see what's happening. ;p
 
Sorry they're so bad. I had to rush because the batteries were dying, and I don't have any extras.
 
So is it just a bandana wrapped around his forehead and the white thing is his hair? Or is the white thing part of the hat?

This has always confused me as well.
 
Edit^:No, he has black hair. if you look at the covers/some scans of PokeSpecial you can see that his hair is a different color. The reason it confuses so many people is because it's a weird hat, which is why I started the topic asking what it was. :p

The trash can in which he's throwing away his new running shoes. He soon takes them back out.

I'd really like a scan of his mom, or one of his scar if you have them.
 
I think it's just like a beanie that's got a little spikey thing on the top, or his hair is pointing it up.

Awesome, thanks. Does Ruby's mother have a name, and do you have a shot of more of her? (mostly for the clothes she wears)
 
The only other shot from Volume 15 is when she's walking around, and she's chibi like in that shot. She doesn't wear anything special at all - she's not even important. o.o

But I'll ask Nicoleb.
 
Well, even a chibi shot would give a clothing reference. I'm kinda gathing information about Ruby from PokeSpecial (as if it wasnt obvious enough already) for something I'm working on, so I want to find as much information as I can.
 
i was always wondering about the hat too. can we see the closet scene again. it's impossible to see in the other pictures. im glad to finnaly see his mom. i dont think there's an equivalent
 
I'ts just a hat..yea it looks weird ,whatever he likes it. End of story X)
