Jesus! I wish I'd never been given my Pokegear to begin with! The only person who ever calls me is Joey!

Me and my friends have all noticed that a MASSIVE amount of the phone calls we get are from Joey, the first trainer to give you their number.
To add insult to this grievous injury, the only damn thing he ever talks about is either how amazing his Ratatta is (Apparently it's better than most Ratatta!), or how that Caterpi he was trying to catch JUST got away.

Please tell me we're not alone on this. Share your Joey-fueled rage here.
 
I just got the game tonight and I've already made 2 Facebook statuses about Joey

"Joey, we are in the Johto region. There are Hoothoot, and I am sure you can defeat them. Do not call me."

"Joey, your Rattata is in the top percentile of Rattata? That still makes it a Rattata. Do not call me."

See? Irwin is a cool guy. I've gotten a call from him once. He didn't say anything important, but it was a nice break from talking about level 3 Pokemon.

Does Irwin have the same creepy dialogue like in GSC? I know he no longer says the "dropped my balls" line but I heard his calls in GSC were quite crazy.

Thankfully I haven't gotten any calls from Joey...yet. Oh well at least you don't have to pick it up. I wish you could delete people from your list but unfortunately you can't.

He's not that crazy anymore.... unfortunately. Still, when he calls he's the only one who talks about interesting things and not how his Voltorb are top percentage. But he's still shows a crush in you from time to time.

About Joey, come on you people!!! He was THE FIRST NAMED TRAINER in the franchise. As pathetic as he is, he holds that honor and thus deserves our respect *bows to him*.
 
But Joey's Rattata is in the top percentage of Rattata!

I'm going to Ev train my Rattata, and raise it to level 100, just to take revenge on him.

The calls from Liz about her Nidoran are very disturbing though.
 
I haven't added anyone named Joey, but I get similar pointless phone calls from other people.

I try to only add people who tell me when certain Pokemon appear, like in the original games.
 
Surely you can choose to just let it ring? That's what I love about HG/SS...plot important phone calls instantly come up, non-important ones you can just let ring.

Question about that. If you let it ring do events still happen? IE being given stones? I'd have thought Gina would have found a Leaf Stone by now.

Yeah I hate when Joey calls non stop. It's annoying. And he lines are boring after awhile. God I might even delete his from my Poke Gear.

So he's the opposite to Lyr/Ethan, who call you to say their Marill evovled but meeting them shows it's not true? Pretty curious fact...
