Hello Workshop!

It seems like months since the first Summer Awards thread went up, and since then the Northern Hemisphere has quickly begun its annual celebration of beating temperature records and the Southern hemisphere has begun to freeze to death as the snow engulfs us all, but now, after all this time, I am very pleased to give you the results of the 2013 Summer Awards!

I am very pleased with the new systems instigated this round, allowing for less popular fics to get recognised through the self nomination, a tidier set of nominees moving on, and the judging was tidied up as well to ensure only the top fics went through. For our next Awards there will be some new change to allow people without their own stories to get involved in the nomination process, as we must value our readers as well as our writers, but more on that next time!

I will just quickly say that I was overwhelmed with the quality of the stories, some of the best I have had the pleasure of reading yet! I hope that this trend continues for the rest of the Awards to come.

But, without any further ado, I am very pleased to give to you the winners of the 2013 Fiction Fairground Summer Awards!

Thank you to everyone of our amazing judges! They put in more hard work than ever this time, reading more fics than ever before in order to guarantee fair judging across the board. They were absolutely brilliant, so a big round of applause for them! You have a right to ask the judges for feedback on your work, but give them a two week period before you start harassing them to let them post their views themselves. Also, a big thank you to harryheart for his tireless work on the banners! I wanted two Pokemon to represent Spring and Summer due to the former being scrapped as an Awards period, and harry was an expert at following my bizarre instructions so top points for him!

And least we forget the user voted Awards! Thank you to everyone that voted – sadly, not as many people as I would have liked did, but I am sure that can be corrected next time, and deserving people still won!

Oh, FE: DoD DID win! :D

I actually had a feeling it might lose. But WOOT, I got the award again! Kyuu, I really thought you might win it, seriously. But don't worry, you got BEST STORY, dude! So in a way, you still beat me! You should be proud!

Oh, but there's a typo on my banner. Kelleo has two Ls, not one. lol

But congrats to all the winners! :D

I was very shocked to win myself, especially as I haven't won in a story category for quite a while now! But I am very pleased to see Eight Easy Steps see some recognition, and for Alaska to win Best Character again was wonderful :D

Also, once the banner typo is fixed I will post them all to the Hall of Fame and I shall tally up how many badges people have now and post the list in the first post of the HoF so people can keep track :)
 
I really didn't expect to win, but I'm glad to see that I did! And with a story so dear to me; The Barefoot, Fighting Genius! is the story I tried to perfect the most, and this may come across as arrogant, but I can't help but feel relief that it wasn't all in vain.

Of course, that isn't to say that any other story is of a lesser quality, or doesn't deserve to win; The Barefoot, Fighting Genius! has been going on since 2011, so I'm sure one of you will kick me down from my throne in the next awards, but until then, I fully plan on gloating and ruling with an iron fist!
 
Congratulations to the winners!!! And to everyone else who participated as well. I really enjoyed reading through a lot of stories during the voting period, so you should all be proud of yourselves for publishing your brilliant works :) Hopefully some day soon I'll be able to post one of my own stories xDD
 
Congratulations to everyone who won! :D And to those who entered, too! There were a lot of great stories this summer (lol though this is my first time entering the fiction fairground) and it was super fun to judge! I found myself reading a lot of stories out of my judging category - I am just simply amazed at the talent here! Everyone deserves to be a winner!

When I saw this topic and noticed that I hadn't received a notification, I begrudgingly accepted that I had lost and went to check who had won in my place... I was in for a surprise when I found that my name simply hadn't been tagged, haha. Well, this really means a lot to me! It feels so good to receive some recognition for all the effort I've put into my story. Congratulations to all the other winners, and I'm sure everyone who participated did a great job!

Whoopsie! You can blame that one of my and an unfortunate typo! :p Sorry for putting you through that!

And I hope everyone follows @Nereus and @MuddyMudkip in reading all the brilliant nominees, whether they won or not! All the stories are deserving of a little bit of love :)
 
My experience:

*refreshes* Hello, notification!! Oh, spoilered? The suspense! Okay, so there were only two protagonists who got nominated somehow. IS IT FRITZ??? ...no? Okay, okay. That's cool. I won Best Alternative before, did I win it again?!??!!?!! No? Hm. Okay. Well, a lot of people seem to give Reika praise, so she's gotta be what I won for. No? So that's just leaves...Best Antagonist? Cool. If...unexpected. In a pleasant way, though.

So yeah, shoutouts to everyone who won, shoutouts to the people who took the time to read, shoutouts to hard work and dedication paying off, shoutouts to shoutouts, etc.
 
All banners are now uploaded in the Hall of Fame. Make sure you all thank @harryheart once again for his amazing work! And yes, some of the badges are missing, Blazaking and I are working on that and it should be fixed soon.
