The Academy of Magic and Abilities (Non Pokemon RP)

Hello all, I am back with a new RP idea in my head, I hope this one gets off the ground with more players and success then my last School RP (Amberstone Academy). Now think of this Academy as a cross between Harry Potter and every single Magic School you have ever heard of.

On the planet Earth, the human race goes on about their business, working day and night for a family and to live a normal life. It seems all good but the mortals are blind and oblivious to an entire different world on the same planet. A world where witches, wizards and people with powers exists. Where vampires, werewolves, goblins and everything that mortals believe is a fairytale, is more then real lurking in the darkness. And they are oblivious to an Academy, suited in the heart of America hidden deep in a rainforest, a place with only a few towns around the rainforest. The Academy of Magic and Abilities, known as Witchborne Academy, despite it's name it's only home to young witches but to people with many races and powers, to wizards and witches to people who have powers on their own, and don't need to chant anything to make something happened.

Students around the age of 13-18 are trained in the Magic Arts and all things related to the magical worlds, some are born right into it while others only just found out about their supernatural powers. They are trained to become stronger and to fight against the darkness, because they are what stands between an oblivious race and total annihilation of all things mortal.

Witchborne Academy isn't the only academy like it, there are a few smaller ones across Americas, and main Academies across the globe suited in Australia, Japan, China, Russia, England and other places, hidden away from the mortal eye. However Witchborne is known for creating it's most powerful heroes and legends, and hiring the best of the best staff.

Elves and Humans are the most commonly found at the Academies, due to the nature of Elves they are hidden well away from mortals, and their only choice of schooling are the ones such as Witchborne. Both Humans and Elves can be a witch, wizard, Mage or any magic user but most Elves are mostly Mages, while Humans dabble in the other areas of the Supernatural.

But not everything is good and pure. Outside of the Academies are dark beings, that would love to corrupt the students. Creatures such as demons and vampires, werewolves all wanting to destroy the force of Good and take over the mortal realm. Although the Academy can be safe, there is an Dark Overlord who lunges attacks against Witchborne Academy, and hundreds miles away is an Academy for the Dark Arts and evil.

That is the story. Your character is invited to Witchborne Academy and may be a teacher (20+) or a student (13-18). As a student they can be new or old to the magic world, taught by their parents or other parental figures. They can be a witch or a wizard who casts spells and rely on them, along with a wand.

They can also be a Mage, which relies on a Staff and they control most Elemental powers, able to create Frost, Fire or Electricity.

Students can also just be supernatural beings with powers beyond their imagination, and the powers can be anything (As long as it's not overpowered. Remember these are students still learning).

Teachers however can be more powerful then students (Not enough to Godmode though) and be more experienced.
Obviously if you want to be a different sort of class then a Mage, Witch/Wizard or just with a power then you can.

Each Student and Teacher has a creature, known as a Guardian who will be by their side (Think like Pokemon) and fight with them. It can be mostly anything.

Students: Anything small or not too dangerous (So no Lions, Tigers etc). Most Students however start out with a Cat or a Owl, but you can still choose.

Teachers: Pretty much the same as students but can have slightly different guardians, still no Lions, Tigers, Bears etc but have like Dogs, Eagles and in some places Foxes, Raccoons etc.

Headmaster's Sign Up (Mine)

Name: Kathany Moonscape
Age: 35

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Bisexual

Personality: Kathany is known for her great skills in running as a school, she plays fair and nice, acting as a mentor to all the kids. She has a good personality and is seen helping others, especially when it comes to the animal kingdom. However she also hides a fierce side, mostly against her foes and is more powerful then she looks.

Appearance: Kathany is about 6 foot tall with long light blond hair, that covers up her longish Elven ears. She has light blue eyes like the sky during the morning on a sunny Summer day, Kathany has white porcelain skin, she normally wears dresses in pink, white or other light colors. She is sometimes seen as an Elven Goddess of the Academy, which she loves as it fools the dark forces into believing she's a sweet innocent girl. She also looks younger and some say about twenty one then thirty.

Kathany also holds a long staff, which is white and shines a bit, at the end Fire and Ice crackles around it and is about 14 inches, it can be used as a wand as well, shooting magic out of it.

History: Being an Elf, Kathany was born in an Elven Community, suited in the Amazon Jungle. They were known as the Moonlight Clan, often giving thanks to the Moon Goddess. Her parents were Catherra and Xaveston Moonscape, they were the more famous family and everyone praised them. Due to this Kathany grew up in a good environment and knew how to hunt, use magic and even blend in with the mortals by the time she was thirteen. However tragedy stuck as a mysterious clan known as Darkspear destroyed most of her home, killing half of her clan. Her parents managed to get Kathany out there with her mentor Amber Starstruck who was seven years older then her, however her parents did not survive. Her mentor Amber got her to America and took her to Witchborne Academy, where an elder human wizard once ruled. Wizard Jenkins was a famous wizard before he died, so he took Kathany in and she grew up being his best student.

Kathany obtained a Guardian Pet, but this one was different compared to others, it was an Eagle however it was white as pure snow, there was no other coloring, Kathany never knew why this was but named it Scarlet, due to it's eyes being an unusal color shade of Scarlet red.
Eventually the wizard died and in his will, asked Kathany at the age of twenty three to become the Headmistress.

She accepted and lived on the legacy becoming a powerful headmistress, she asked her mentor Amber to find recruits and she did while Kathany stayed behind. By the time she reached 25 she was a powerful Mage and Witch even, who didn't take crap and would always protect her students first.

Classes: Kathany is a Headmistress, but she teaches Introduction to the Supernatural World.

Guardian Pet: Scarlet the White Eagle with Scarlet eyes.

Magic: Kathany is a Mage and can use the Elemental of Fire, Lightening, Ice and Water, she is pretty skilled although she is still trying to master the Wind Elemental. She also dabbles in Witchcraft a little so she can cast a spell on depend.

Personality: If one were to describe Ciel in two words, they would be Glitter Goth. He is quite upbeat and cheerful but is into darker things such authors, movies, and manga. He enjoys art, Writing, music, (He is a gifted Violinist.) He is very loyal to his friends and will show anyone kindness at least once but if this kindness isn't returned, he will give a cold shoulder. He hates prejudice against pokemon for superstition or appearence and this will set off a horrible temper which can scare off a Hellehound. appearances, you can choose to be a different sort of race if you like)

Appearence:

History: Ciel was born with a peculiar gift. He can sense when disaster will strike. He has no memory of a family and spent most of his life growing up in an orphanage. His first vision was of the caretaker being murdered for being unfaithful to her husband. Because of these constant visons of disaster he became rather depressed. At one point in his life he spent a month in an asylum because when ever told someone about these visions they would think he was crazy. Through out his life he figured out that if he warned someone about these visions the outcome would still ocurred and that they had to figure out what would happen for themselves in order to be saved. Since learning of this, he takes the roll of an observer only steering people into the right direction with settle hints.

Guardian Pet: A small black puffball with big eyes, a white cotten tail, rabbit ears and small stubby arms and long rabbit feet. His name is Cosmo. (Looks like the animal in my avatar).

Magic: Psychic (Capable of sorcery but not to the same degree as mages or witches. They are more well known at predicting the future, communing with spirits and granting wishes.)

Personality: Raven is peculiar person often acting being both very wise and very whimsical. She never truly reveals her true intentions and prefers to act as an observer. Raven believes that all events are inevitable and fate can only be changed if one relises it themselves. Raven also beleives that there is no such thing as evil nor good. That both exists in the hearts of others and that those concepts are just mere shallow terms that only feeble beings who lack proper understanding of the world and others. She is often seen smoking a small pipe

Appearance:

History: Raven is world known around the magic community for her predictions that almost never lie and her ability to grant even the largest of wishes. Raven was born into a small family that often struggled with money. She was one day looking for a way to earn money for her family when she happened upon a shop in which she met psychic who sensed her abilities. He taught her the principles of being a psychic but she surpassed him in skill within two weeks.

Name: Edgar Night

Sexuality: Bisexual
Personality: Ed is made of porn. As in, he is a hentai doujin given human form. Fortunately, this does not affect his personality. He is an otaku, but that's more because when he arose from a pile of trash, he was buried under a huge pile of manga. He's very cynical - It's hard not to be when your first moments of life were spent in a dumpster - But he can be kind if he wants to be.
Appearance: Ed was originally a porn manga. But now he's human, and looks like a fairly normal teenage punk. He's pretty average as far as height goes, at 5'11, and weighs 160 pounds. While he's fairly thin, he is somewhat muscular as well. He usually wears a pleather jacket (He doesn't think it's nice to kill animals for clothes) and an anime T-shirt underneath, in addition to stressed denim jeans and combat boots. He has a long mane of black hair on his head, and his nose is slightly off-sides from when his spine was bent once when he was in book form.
History: Ed was originally a copy of a hentai manga, owned by a teenage wizard who never learned to use magic. His owner eventually left for the academy, while Ed stayed at the wizard's mother's house on a bookshelf until he was thrown in the trash. He was sent to the dumpster, and there he stayed, the magic he absorbed through contact with his owner stewing, transforming him, animating him, until 16 years after his creation and 15 after being thrown away, he cut his way out of the trash with nothing but a newspaper and a set of tentacles. He felt quite rejected and alone, but saw a flier for the academy. He had nowhere else to go, so after a shower at the YMCA, he journeyed there.

Guardian Pet: A gerbil named Sampson.
Magic: Edgar is a Tsukomogami, a form of demon that comes to life after coming into contact with a magic-user. Edgar is a manga that was owned by a wizard. As such, he can control paper. He can strengthen paper and sharpen it's edges to make it cut like the finest sword. He can also sprout tentacles to strangle opponents or wield more paper swords.

Personalityaemon isn't easy to put into words. He does tend to be quite an asshole, has a very short temper, easily gets into fights, and has been known to snap into random fits of rage. He is highly unstable; it's a wonder how he hasn't gotten himself or someone else killed. When around strangers he often acts as though acknowledging their existence isn't worth his time. After he gets to know people, their relationship can go one of two ways. He will either despise them and take hits at their every flaw or rarely become their friend and treat them as part of his "pack".

Appearance: Daemon has straight, jet black hair. It reaches down to his nose often covering his dark brown eyes. He has moderately tan skin from his Filipino heritage and stands at 5'10 with a muscular build. He wears a black zip-up hoody and a dark grey t-shirt underneath. He wears baggy, dark blue jeans and black skating shoes with white soles. On his wrist is a spiked dog collar bracelet and around his neck is a silver chain ending in razor sharp wolf tooth. When he transforms into his animal form he becomes a large wolf with pitch black fur and golden eyes. When in his hybrid form he become a large anthropomorphic wolf with a human like torso and wolf legs.

History: Daemon grew up in the mortal world, for the most part oblivious to his powers. He was always a loner, watching the other kids from afar, picking fights, and constantly getting into trouble. He was constantly picked on by the other kids, but he finally snapped in fourth grade. He made the other kids fear him and became the top of the food chain. People then rarely stood up to him, the few that tried were put right back in their place. In seventh grade he had finally met his match. A boy who had just moved to his neighbourhood. After half an hour of having his ass handed to him, he transformed into a wolf/human hybrid. He proceeded to attack the boy, just stopping himself when the kid was next to death. His parents were both proud and disappointed. They were proud his son had finally realized his powers, but they had hoped it wouldn't have been in such a violent way. They soon moved into nearby werewolf community knowing it was too dangerous to keep their son around mortals. Although they weren't werewolves they were accepted all the same because of their shapeshifting abilities. He was enlisted into the academy by his parents, who hoped it might help him gain some control.

Guardian Pet:A miniature hellhound pup. Only the size of the average chihuahua.

Magic: Daemon is a common shapeshifter. Limited to only his base form and one other, normally chosen by genetics. He can transform into his base form the other form and everything between the two. He is gifted with umbrakinesis, the control over shadows and has some form of link with alternate realities. His personality often changing to match alternate Daemons throughout the multiverse. He can although rarely form some kind of portal between them into his own.

Kona- I really don't know what to make of your character O.O, the academy doesn't really accept demons but if they do, they are on a oath not to kill or harm a person at the academy and to learn instead. So I am just gonna say Accepted.

Majin- Much like above the academy doesn't always trust werewolves but they will be under oath, and not allowed to use dark magic either, they do believe however a Werewolf can be tamed considering it's only three nights of a year they are transformed. So Accepted

Kona- Yeah with the Magic part you said a form of Demon. Golem does sound better although I don't know too much about them to be honest.

Interestingly, Golems are Jewish in origin, as opposed to Norse, like most fantasy settings. Originally, they were created by rabbis, and given orders through pieces of paper put in their mouths. I believe that it was Mr. Gygax who introduced it to what is considered the standard fantasy setting. Most of his stuff was ripped from Tolkien, which was itself ripped from Norse mythology. I think.

Name: Candace Royce (nickname Rose)

Personality: Rose is an enigma to say the least. She is mute, and very shy. When put in a situation where she must be around other people, her shyness truly comes out, and she does everything in her power to avoid contact with people. She hates being forced to be social, since she cannot speak, and has no idea how to convey her thoughts and emotions, aside from facial expressions. She hates fighting, due to being a pacifist, and never gets angry, due to her inability to express emotion. She constantly forgets things immediately, but will remember hours later.

Appearance: Rose has a pale complexion, dark red hair, and blue eyes that are constantly glazed over. Her expression is always comically blank, as if someone hit her a week ago and she's still trying to figure out why. Her expression only changes when she gets stressed out, in which she constantly grimaces, and her face turns a rosy pink color, which is where her nickname comes from. She is rather short and skinny, standing at a mere 4'9". She wears a white and red dress that extends to her knees with a rose brooch attached, white stockings, red shoes, a white and red cap, and a white and red scarf around her neck.

History: Rose was born in the mortal world, as a supposedly normal child. Just days into her infancy, she was dropped on her head, and the resulting concussion damaged many parts of her brain, including speech, facial expression, and memory, while also enabling powerful magic abilities that she wouldn't discover until her adolescent years. The kids in the neighborhood were repulsed by her inability to talk, her constant blank expression, and forgetfulness, and treated her like a broken toy. Her inability to socialize left her devastated in her early years, and she spent nearly all her time wondering why she was the way she was. The time she didn't spend brooding, she spent reading books of all kinds, learning to embrace the peace and quiet her condition gave her.

When she got older, she was forced to mingle amongst her peers, and was quickly placed under a great deal of stress, being asked questions and taunted mercilessly by those who were befuddled by her condition. The mental stimulus she got unleashed the pent-up emotions from her earlier years, which combined with her current anger and stress and took the form of a powerful psionic energy burst that injured most of them. This further alienated her from her peers, and she became intrigued with her newly-discovered powers. When her parents found out about the incident, they enlisted her in an academy that could help her with her issues.

Guardian Pet: Great Horned Owl.

Magic: Rose is able to project psionic energy in various forms, mostly in widespread waves or focused blasts. She can also project it in different elements depending upon her environment. This requires a great deal of focus, thus is very slow and predictable by the stance she takes when focusing her power. The power required usually exhausts her completely, so she plans her fighting style accordingly.

Appearance:She wears a purple bandana on the top of her head and a giant sword on her back. She is always wearing jeans and that purple bandana.
History:She didn't know she had magic but when she found out then she thought her prayers have been answered because she was in a family where the boys are doing all the work and the girls did lady things. Kyomi was tired of the lady like life in England and wanted to go on an adventure so when she found out she had magic she ran away and went to the academy of magic and abilities.

Name: Tobias Moon
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight
Personality: Tobias is a fairly lazy person, much prefering to wander around outside or read than go to classes, but he is extremely loyal to his friends and likes peope who don't judge others for how they look.

Appearance: Tobias is very tall at 6'3" and so skinny that he looks like he hasn't eaten for a month (he always looks like this, no matter how much he eats.) He has jet black hair that sits atop his head in an unruly mop as well pure black eyes and skin so pale it looks sickly. He also has black lines crisscrossing the entire left side of his body, as if he had somehow cracked. He is never seen without his trademark black baggy hoodie and worn-out jeans. He tends to slouch.

History: an "Agent of Darkness" who decided he didn't want the job, Tobias was born to spread chaos and destruction throughout the world, but decided at a very early age that he really didn't want to. Instead he traveled as much as he could and stayed away from any large population centers, because people saw him as a freak and he was afraid that they would hurt him. With no friends other than his animal companion, Tobias never really learnt what a friend was, which stopped him from going insane from lonliness. When he eventually learned of the academy he applied in the hopes that he wouldn't be seen as such a freak there.

Guardian Pet: a black lab with solid red eyes, Chaz has been taking care of Tobias since he was very little and always sticks by his master through thick and thin. He is surprisingly friendly and can often be seen lying across his master's feet as they sleep.

Magic: as an "Agent of Darkness" Tobias can control shadows. This only works, however, when there are a fair amount of shadows, meaning that he gets a lot weaker in bright light.

History: Louise was born in one of the wealthiest families in the kingdom of Tristain.She attended Tristain Academy of Magic while she was still living in Tristain,but soon transferred to this academy of Magic and Abilities.While she studied at at Tristain Academy,she was called "Louise the Zero" because of her magic failure.But she only failed casting magic because she is an extremely rare void mage.Now she transferred,she is goaling to master other forms of magic.
