I found a thing which existence I've never been aware of.

This is the Map with anime locations.

This map artwork is nothing that we haven't seen before. I've even got a good scan of it (thanks to Pie). But the thing is, that this one is some kind of alternate version. It has a whole lots of markings on it. And it means that it has marked anime locations on it. The one that I have has only game and movies (1-10) locations marked.

This map is a very important artifact for us (and for Bulbapedia) because it'd give us the near-perfect image of the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh geography. We don't know where all those one-episode-only locations are located (especially in the first Kanto series, where they fucked the geography up completely). Thanks to this map - we can find it out.

All the shots of this map that I've found in the net are tiny and it's impossible to make anything of them.

Does anyone know anyone who has some access to that map? With it, we could make fanmade game-style maps showing the locations of anime-only towns and locations. It's a very big piece of Pokemon geography.

Well fuck. I can't get you. This is the movie 1-10 map with movie locations and Anime only town locations? If so, well fuck. That's the most useful info since......since nothing, this is the most important artifact in ages.

I can't read Japanese or order it off the site (it's in Japanese), so don't count on me doing that. Besides, I'm still on boycott anyways.

I'm not saying that I care about those anime-only towns that much. But it has always been bothering me that there are thousands of locations in the Pokemon franchise which locations are completely unknown to us. I'm simply curious how they're fit into the geography of game regions.

The info does have some use, especially for Bulbapedia.

I think that what Phantom Ruler Zorark was trying to say is that we've known about this map for years. The Kanto, Johto and Hoenn maps were included in the 2004 version released in promotion of Movie 7, and have been available on Bulbapedia since 2005. The 2007 version just added Sinnoh's map and a few anime-exclusive locations from Hoenn and Kanto. Despite the lack of proper scans, we've been aware of its existence.

I'm a bit surprised at you, Maxim. Where did you think the Bulbapedia maps were from?

I think Maxim was talking about maps that actually label the anime only locations (IE, Neon town, Gringey City, HopHopHop town, etc. etc.) rather than just the games or the Movie locations, which the Movie 7 and 10 maps did only label the games or the movie locations.

Seen that before, though I don't know how legit it is.

If all of these are based on real-life regions of Japan, wouldn't it be shaped more like Japan? Therefore, where would a fifth region be in there? Sinnoh is supposed to be the far north; Hoenn is supposed to be the far south... I don't follow.

There may be a disclaimer there: "Location maps are subject to change."

I'm a bit surprised at you Unown Lord, you're always analyzing everything very thoroughly. But this time you didn't even bother to read my post...

I did read your post, but it didn't even mention the fact that Bulbapedia has the exact same maps only with the anime-exclusive locations omitted; you only said that you had a different version of the map. I should have taken a better a look at those maps, but it didn't occur to me that they might only have partial information.

I will admit that I tend not to be very analytical about things that I don't find interesting, though. Anime-exclusive towns are not my cup of tea.

That's the official Japanese website, I would say it's pretty darn legit. Even if they specifically didn't make it, they're promoting it after all.

Also, there is a line of cloud-looking things between Hoenn and Kanto/Johto and Sinnoh, likely to show how they're further away.

Here's a slightly bigger version:

You can at least make out what most of the Pokémon are...

Oh, and here's one with the bottom bit still.

It seems that Hoenn's Battle Frontier island is clearly referenced on this map. That probably applies to the anime-exclusive Kanto facilities, as well, but confirmation would be nice.

Your signature makes no sense you sick bastard.
I was wondering if I was the only one who found it disturbing.

Well, if the clouds are there to indicate distance, then this map only confirms what we already knew.

Which makes me wonder where Gen V is going to be. Japan only has so many regions... perhaps they will make something up or spoof former colonies, like Korea (which I believe someone mentioned in the Gen V board region topic).

I wonder why the mods don't do anything about it since this is not the first time he's doing this and it's clearly done on purpose...
Anyway...
Is this map really showing all the anime-only towns? are you sure Maxim? you can't really read what's written on the small scene we got so it could be just the game+movie locartions... unless that page on the official site states otherwise, I don't see a reason to think this includes all the 3256235 anime made up locations

I do this because it is allowed, and it is a form of art.

All who don't like it can just step!

Piplup, why do you always seem to argue with people when they don't agree with you.

You seem to express your opinions way too biased.
