Because Game Freak still has time they can devote to things other than Pokemon.

Anyone hear anything about this? I just randomly stumbled upon it while lurking the 'Tube, but it looks pretty zany.
 
I'm not huge on side scrolling platforms, but it looks pretty good graphics wise. So I'll give it that. :P
