The CW has formally announced Legion of Super Heroes and The Batman for its upcoming Kids' WB! season, putting the shows back-to-back beginning at 11 a.m. in its Saturday morning lineup.

Here's how the network describes the Legion show, which will air at 11 a.m.:

"One thousand years from now, a group of teenage super heroes travel back in time to recruit the greatest hero of all, Superman, and enlist him their fight against evil in the 31st Century. While their intentions were good, their time travel skills were not, and Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl, Brainiac 5, Phantom Girl, Bouncing Boy and Timber Wolf end up going too far back into the past, accidentally retrieving the young Superboy instead. Together, this unlikely Legion of Super Heroes bands together to defend the rights of all free worlds and uphold the laws of the newly formed United Planets. That is, if they don't kill each other first.

"Legion of Super Heroes combines humor with high-stakes, grand-scale super heroics to create the ultimate sci-fi, super hero fantasy for kids of all ages. Each episode of this fast-paced, character-driven action comedy will pit Superboy and the Legion against otherworldly threats and adversaries who challenge the team on both super heroic and emotional levels."

Here's how the network describes The Batman, which will air at 11:30 a.m.:

"The Batman features the most complex and intriguing character in comic book history in action-packed super heroic adventures, melding the renowned character's extraordinary physical prowess and super-sleuthing skills with a new range of experimental Bat-gadgets and an amped-up Batmobile. The series premiered in fall 2004 and picked up Batman's story in his mid-20s, when he's just finding his way as a protector, defender and Caped Crusader, while balancing his public persona as billionaire bachelor Bruce Wayne.

"In the upcoming third season, the Dark Knight continues his relentless quest to rid Gotham City of its supervillains, but he's not alone. Robin joins the team, and the fabled Dynamic Duo is also occasionally joined by Batgirl. Harley Quinn, Black Mask, Killer Moth, the Everywhere Man and a brand-new Clayface join the rogues' gallery of villains, led by the Joker, Penguin and Riddler, who ceaselessly torment Batman and Gotham City."

The Continuum on Tuesday caught up with supervising producer Duane Capizzi, who confirmed that Robin will be Dick Grayson.

"Robin will be young and scrappy," Capizzi told The Continuum..

Capizzi also confirmed that Paul Dini is the writer for the Harley Quinn episode.

"The new season will have lots of surprises, particularly for fans -- it will be awesome," Capizzi said.

In related news:

* The Batman won two Daytime Emmy Awards, for Outstanding Special Class Animated Program and Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing - Live Action and Animation. It was one of only 10 shows to win multiple awards.

* The network has announced the air date for this season's final two episodes of The Batman: "The Icy Depths" on May 6 and "Gotham's Ultimate Criminal Mastermind" on May 13.

I put a spoiler tag in there because there is a HUGE spoiler for the Batman announced. Nice to see we'll have a full hour of DC cartoons on CW.

The spoiler is sort of old news, but the confirmation is nice, as well as the confirmation of who it is.

"Brand-new" Clayface? Are they going to use the Matt Hagan Clayface? And if so, what happens to the Ethan Bennett character.

There were multiple Clayfaces in the comics, though I'm not sure if they were around at the same time.

If Dini's involved, I may just watch it, despite how much I hate that show.

Don't worry, he's writing the script.

If nothing else, I'm interested in how she'll look animated in The Batman style. The animation in that show is absolutely gorgeous, and if her character design is decent enough, the visuals alone will be reason enough to watch the episode.

Killer Moth? As in Killer Moth from Teen Titans? I guess WB will be using character from that now that its over.

*Need Control Freak to appear*

As soon as I saw the name Control Freak up there, I instantly loved the thought of him clashing with The Batman. I so want him to appear now. :-D

I also want Scott Menville to voice Robin.

Actually, Habunake, Killer Moth was originally a Batman villain.
