After the fall of Team Vassar, Kanto has achieved an era of peace. Even with pre-war tensions within Hoenn, Kanto has formed an alliance with its sister region, Johto, and things have never been better. That is, until, the formation of a mysterious portal in Vermilion City, which allowed several black, misty forms similar in shape to Pokémon.

The Darkmist Pokémon were aggressive, attacking anything and everything near them. Several trainers attempted to fend off the Darkmist Pokémon, but the weaker trainers were unable to, the stronger trainers with Level 50+ parties able to hold their ground against their Darkmist opponent. However, any attacks going through the portal were deflected back to their sources. Things were bleak until the portal began to collapse and the Darkmist Pokémon dissipated. People looked into the world beyond the portal and saw the Legendary Pokémon of Dimension, the Renegade Pokémon Giratina, which released a fearsome roar before the portal sealed.

Several months after this event, another portal opened in Cerulean City and released more Darkmist Pokémon, they too attacking everything in their path, with events playing out exactly as they had, with Giratina making a more visible appearance, causing many to blame it for the Darkmist Pokémon, since it was a shadow creature like them.

This time, New Silph analyzed the portal and began developing a way to open the portal and allow trainers to travel through without damaging our own and combat the Renegade Pokémon. They have advised many strong trainers to come to the New Silph Building in Saffron City, in order to assist against the impending Darkmist threat, before ‘Giratina’s Army’ they succeed in destroying the region of Kanto.

History: Ricky was born into the world an albino. This had destructive effects on his childhood. His parents kept him indoors and thus he never made friends. At ten he recieved a Riolu, and soon afterwards left to follow around the wanderer A.D., his only real friend. He has been involved in many activities since then.

Long brown hair and eyes, A.D’s appearance is very deceitful, as he appears to be fairly frail in comparison to most muscular guys, but beneath his coat is a muscular figure, stemming from his long travels. He is quite handsome, but often denies it, stating otherwise.

Clothing:
A.D wears a long-sleeved red and black coat and blue jeans with Kanto running shoes.

Personality:
Friendly, but shy. His battle tactics include random, but effective, attack patterns in order to throw off the opponent. However, this tactic is rarely seen due to his lack of want to battle. He has an odd obsession with strawberries, actually being able to sense when some are near him.

Due to his shyness, he will not approach people he does not know, but doesn't mind if people approach him. He will always speak his mind when asked on a subject, telling things truthfully, even when it isn't advised. When something perks his interest, he will observe it very carefully and look for anything out of norm, but if it doesn't, he will ignore its existence altogether.

Relationships:
He has a mother in Pallet Town and Grandparents in New Bark Town. His younger brother lives with his Grandparents while his youngest brother remains with his mum.

History:
He’s wandered so much he knows basically everything there is in the regions. He doesn’t really talk much about his past, though he’s haunted by something he did at 16.

Other:
Although he could be classed as one of the strongest trainers ever, A.D doesn't use his Pokémon's strength unless absolutly necessary. As he has been travelling for 15 years, his party's levels are Level 100.

The coat A.D wears has proven to be quite durable. It has seen everything A.D has seen and come out better then him, often coming out undamaged from even the worst of conflicts. This has sparked rumours that his coat is indestructable, with one person offering to buy the coat off him (to no avail, of course).

Black leather trenchcoat with wrist length sleeves and shin length leg cuffs, undershirt of the same colour as his eyepiece, black jeans with a dark cobalt belt and silver buckle.

Personality:Cold, efficent and ruthless, his very ethos is to get the job done no matter what. He usually keeps his emotions and personal feelings to himself, believing that "Enigma is the most effective part of the disguise". He has never actually related personally to anyone, and no-one really knows how he would act in such a situation.

He returned to Kanto, his first stop on his journey, to test a fossil he found.

Physical Appearance:
He is slim and rather tall. He has spikey brown hair and a boney face. His eyes are a cold shade of grey. He seems quite frail, but menacing at the same time. He is handsome, but girls often don't like him because of his attitude.

Clothing:
He wears a brown shirt and grey jeans. He wears red fingerless gloves and a bracelets, rings and a necklace, all made of pewter. He also wears black, clunky boots. His most noticable piece of clothing is his jacket. It is crimson, with black flames running up the sides. The bottom is ripped and tattered, and the sides are badly stitched together. This jacket makes him seem frightening to people.

Personality:
He doesn't speak to anyone much, but isn't antisocial. He likes to stay inside his mind, thinking up tactics for battles. He has been blessed with intelligence and tactical skills, and this is all he thinks about. He is serious, and doesn't laugh even when anything is amusing or exciting. He is very protective of his teammates and friends, and always seems to have a backup plan if his current attack tactic doesn't work. Some people get surprised when he says or does something clever.

Relationships:
He stays with his elderly grandparents in Blackthorn City when he is not travelling, as his parents have passed away. His sister has gone to live with his rival, Leon, whom she fell in love with recently. He has also made many connections with people on his travels, and has a good friendship with Claire and Lance. However, despite knowing so many people, none of these people know where he is half the time, or how to find him.

History: Kirk caught his first Pokémon at the age of nine, and started his Pokémon journey at eleven. For three years he travelled the world, capturing new and fascinating Pokémon, but realised his true passion was battling rather than catching. He entered many competitions with his Pokémon, and battled every Gym he could find. He trained his Pokémon non-stop until they were all more well equipped and powerful than tanks. His amazing battling prowess spawned a fanbase, who came up with the nickname "Bayonet". You already know all this. Recently he has performed a deal which has ruined his life cycle. If he doesn't settle it, his life will end. Also, he needs to save three beloved things, two of which are his Vaporeon and Houndoom.

Other: While A.D. is one of the strongest trainers ever, Kirk is one of the most skilled trainers ever. He is also an accomplished diver. He uses his tactical skills in all sorts of situations, so he can be useful in a jam.
