All at max potential and only using region teams no older pokemon for any of them. And we are not using SM Ash for this because we don't know his max potential or his full team.
 
That would probably be between DP and XY Ash based off that list. Their battle strategies are the most interesting, and they're able to take a type disadvantage to their own advantage.

I'm not huge on when or who is strongest in the anime or in any anime, but that is my opinion of how it would go.
 
In terms of battling, I think it’s a tie between DP Ash and XY Ash, with the former being a better and more creative strategist and the other having more raw power.

However, if we’re talking about the character as a whole, I still think AG Ash is the best version of Ash, since he had a very dynamic personality and good strategies, as well as a balanced amount of humor.
