The Best Gym Battle?

With Ash now having all 8 badges in the Kalos League, its time we took a look at all of the gym battles that Ash has ever battled in and discussed what we think were the best of the best. As of now, Ash has traveled through and defeated all Gym Leaders in the Kanto region, the Orange Islands, the Johto region, the Hoenn region, the Sinnoh region, the Unova region, and the Kalos region. Out of all the 52 gym leaders that Ash has faced in these regions, which one do you think stands out as the best of the best?

For me, its Ash's battle with Olympia in the Anistar Gym. This was one of the only two double battles Ash had to face in the anime, despite it not being one in the games. It had a lot of interesting strategies thrown in and I like that it really made Ash think with the looming threat of the female Meowstic's devastating Future Sight, the male Meowstic's Prankster ability, and the female's Keen Eye ability. The battle was also very visually impressive and well choreographed. It was probably the most exciting gym battle I have ever seen.

I really can't think of a better written or choreographed gym battle of all the ones I've seen in 20 years.

Although ngl I probably enjoyed some of the fake-out battles of Kanto more for the wrong reasons...

Honestly, Olympia is the only one that falls to mind. It was pretty much flawless.

Nothing can beat Olympia's Gym battle. If you want to change their views towards the anime, show them this battle, i am sure this will change their views

Ash's first battle with Wattson. You could cut the tension with a knife during that fight. In all seriousness, while I do really like the Olympia battle, I'd probably have to go with Ash's battle against Crasher Wake or maybe even Maylene.

Also, if there's 52 Gym Leaders, Orange League Gym Leaders included, then you could watch every episode that Ash won a Gym battle every week for one day and it would last you a year. Dear Arceus. O_O

Gym battle with Clair as it is a Dragon type gym and the only one of that type he had faced.
