after reading the Time Magazine Quotes again, its got me to thinking about the famous Pokemon Topic again: people claiming, "I don't get it (Pokemon, that is), why is it so popular?" Personally, I feel if you are paying attention, there is no way not to get why it appeals to kids, gamers, and its fans. So no the big questions:

  • Why do you like Pokemon?
  • Why do you think others may like Pokemon?
  • And why do you think people don't understand why people like pokemon?
Personally, I like it most for the exploration, and non-linear eliments of the game, as with the natural themes in it (because I'm very much into Zoology)
 
* Why do you like Pokemon?
Cuz I like cute creatures, and I like RPGs. Combine them together = win.

* Why do you think others may like Pokemon?
Some do it due to the fads, some for the simple RPG structure, and some for the competiveness of multiplayer fights.

* And why do you think people don't understand why people like pokemon?
Cuz said creatures are cute, and the TV show makes it seem so kiddy my parents and siblings make fun of the fact that I play it (I'm 22 years old).
 
I enjoy this fantasy world containing fairly clever places, people and creatures.

Also, exploration is hella fun.
