Hello everyone!

We're starting up a group for fan-fiction writers on BMGf. If you're serious about writing and want CONSTRUCTIVE criticism (You MUST be able to handle criticism. Absolutely no whining D:) from other writers that know spelling, proper grammar and other things that make a story not suck, then we'd love to have you join us. If I can get enough members then there's a possibility that we could make this into an actual usergroup. Other possibilities include starting a LiveJournal community and partying it up in the [HASHTAG]#NandosHarp[/HASHTAG] channel from time to time.
Before I go on, I want to stress that this is a community to help people grow in their writing and to help people write that piece that's been floating around in their heads for a while. A lot of people suck at writing, but that's mostly because of lack of guidance. That being said, here's a few ground rules:
1. Absolutely NO flaming of any kind. We see enough of that around here. Let's keep it civil, ok? This rule is non-negotiable.
2. You need to spell and use correct grammar. This is a writer's club after all. This rule is non-negotiable.
3. As I said before, NO whining. There is a lot of bad fanfiction floating around and I suspect the people who write those fics might want to join. That's fine guys, but if you aren't serious and can't write properly, you're going to get a LOT of criticism. You will not be flamed, but you will hear a lot of things you do not like. Suck it up. Earn respect by polishing your stories. Read some books on creative writing. Ask for advice and pay attention to it when it is given to you. If you write below a middle school level, work on your skills and then join up with us. This rule is non-negotiable.
4. Please don't post entire chapters of stories here. This rule is negotiable. Let's see what happens and what people want to do first.
5. Have fun! :3

If we are able to get a usergroup established, you will need to PM Nando or myself if you want to join. Thanks guys!

If I may make a suggestion: instead of posting entire chapters or portions of stories, just post a link to the story or chapter.

I agree, entire chapters all in one thread could get kinda messy.

Hopefully we can get the usergroup set up...

We'll focus on getting the word out for now. I have a feeling we'll do fine. :3

Awesome. Since it looks word like might be getting around, I'm gonna set up a a set of guidelines for people who want their fics looked at.

1.) Specify what you'd like feedback on
2.) Specify what section of your piece you'd like us to read. I know I personally won't really have time to read through chapters of a fic in one sitting, but if there's a section, a paragraph, hell even a sentence you want someone to look at I think that's a much easier feat. :3

And that's all. I don't want to many rules XD If you want to critique a piece, read the rules I posted at the top of the page... basically don't be an asshole. I'm not saying sugarcoat everything you have to say, but at the same time, don't take your bad day out on someone's fic. :)

Yay! Welcome aboard. :3

I read your fic. It kicks ass! :D There were a few typos here and there; I'd recommend running it through Word so that spellcheck can pick them all up for you. Keep writing!

Well, I beta read for Jordan, so I do what I can.

Just came to annouce to the group, I posted chapter 8 of my fanfic just a few minutes ago! :D

I noticed that "nothing" was spelled "noting", but otherwise, fantastic work! :D

I posted the preview of my next chapter.

Hihi. I was lured here by avatar flattery and promises of free cake.

I just started a parodic fic, which can be found here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3906786/1/Pokemon_The_Lost_Novel. I already corrected some spelling errors, but I felt like I was changing voice quite often. It was partly intentional, but I'd like feedback on whether it's noticeably and, if so, whether it works.

Bahahaha! I love it. XD The complimentary trainer gift basket made me laugh. I didn't really think the voice change was a problem. It worked well. I also noticed in your profile that you are a barista :O I work for Starbucks XD

Alright, it looks like we have a nice little group here! So, as most of you may know, Nando and I are trying to get a usergroup for Bulbagarden fanfiction writers with this thread. Archaic has said that if we get enough people together and put together an icon (like the chat Palkia, the Ash, Brock and Misty club icons, the Rocket "R" and so on) he would consider putting together the usergroup for us. We now have 5 people we can consider solid members, which is better than I originally thought we'd do. We haven't been PMing invites which pretty much means we're going to be growing based on word of mouth. I think we'll do fine and I think slowly but surely we'll continue to grow! :D

So our next order of business is the icon. Jordan, Nando and I thought a quill pen would be a good symbol for our club. BP and Blaziken, what do you think? Is anyone here artistically talented? We would need a small symbol with a transparent background to present to Archaic.
Thanks dudes! Keep writing! :D

I work for Starbucks too! ^.^ Which means I drink way too much egg nog...

How do usergroups work? I'm obviously quite new to this Bulbagarden business and I have a lot to learn about such things.

I'm in! My big ongoing fic is Obsession, a backstory for Jirarudan the Collector (you know, from the second movie). I love writing about him because I find him fascinating. You can read the fic here http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/showthread.php?t=463. Yes, the thread dates back to 2003, but there's only 16 chapters and a lot of them, especially the early ones, are less than a page long. And yes, I'm aware that some of the early chapters weren't very good, but hey. I wrote the first two not thinking I would ever expand them, and now it's taken over my life.

I'm trying to get chapter 17 out by the end of the month. It's my own personal NaNo.

Haha word :D I love workin' for the 'Bux. Also, the usergroups are groups of people who are fans of certain Pokemon Characters (we have groups for Ash, Brock, Misty and Team Rocket). We also have groups for regulars of the Bulbagarden Chat (Our logo is a Palkia), The League of Neutral Posters and a group for donors.

Welcome aboard, Blackjack! :D

I need some ideas for a Hoeen fan fic. Can someone help me?

Are you writing a trainer/journey Hoenn fic, or a shipping story, or what?

Also, *points to link in sig*, my fics are here and on FFN. I would appreciate feedback on my characterizations; I tend to think they're flat and one-dimensional. Any advice, criticism, or free cake would be appreciated. :)
