The thread for all Bulbagardeners 21 (or whatever the drinking age is in your country) and over to discuss alcohol and drink-making.

Let's start with everyone sharing 1) your favorite drink to order at a bar, 2) one drink you have created/know how to make, and 3) one or more that you would like to make.

1) I like cosmos if I'm at a fancy bar, but if not I'll usually go for a Malibu and coke.
2) "Adult Dr. Pepper" - my personal version is 1 part amaretto to 3 parts Coke (Diet Coke works fine). I recently perfected this and I am so proud!
3) One of these awesome Pokemon cocktails - particularly the ones for the Charmander family.

GOOD GOD YES!

We needed this thread.

Okay, I'll start y'all off with something a little sweet.

Matt's Patented Christmas Cocktail

Warning: This tastes like Christmas. But it will fuck you up if you keep drinking them (because you don't taste the booze nearly as much as you should)

Ingredients:

4 parts Coffee (hot)
3 parts Baileys
2 parts Kahlua
2 parts Peppermint Schnapps
Chocolate Sauce
Candy Cane

Ingredients:

Start with the Schnapps. Next add the Kahlua. Followed by the Baileys. Pour the coffee over the top. Stir with the candy cane (to get the candy cane flavor moving). Garnish with chocolate sauce.

Serve with candy cane still in the drink. Enjoy :)

YESSSSS

1. JagerBombs. I don't go to bars very often, but when I do, JagerBombs. Always.

2. I make mixed drinks all the time at home. Pretty much whatever alcohol I have + whatever juice/pop I have.

But one of my favorites lately is Rockstar Coconut energy drink + Pinnacle's Pineapple vodka. It's a fucking Hawaiian vacation in a drinky~ I added some Smirnoff Mango vodka to one last night just to see if it added anything, and it waaaay too drinkable.

Go figure that HiPS and I are the first to post in this thread

The Last time I officially had alcohol at a bar was a good 5-6 years ago

As for an alcohol making recipe I call mine a Shandi

Ingredients

Small to Half small glass of Lemonade
Tiny to small glass of Beer
Pour into an empty glass
Stir with Spoon
the result depends on how much lemonade/beer is used

(I love that this is so many of the people from the brony chat - I felt like we were discussing alcohol a lot in there, that's why I created this thread!)

Matt, your Christmas Cocktail sounds delicious. So many of my favorite ingredients!

But it also makes me sad that Christmas is so far away. So for something more summery, I like the watermelon martini recipe in this post:

Autostraddle said:
Ingredients per martini
4 1" watermelon cubes
1 basil leaf
2 oz. vodka
ice
Cut or rip the basil leaves into itty bitty bits. Put all of the ingredients into a shaker and shake the living hell out of it. Ok now stop. Strain everything into a chilled martini glass or, if you're accident-prone, a plastic cup from the kids' meals at Red Lobster.
Garnish with your lips. Repeat.

But I don't have a shaker. Where do I get one?

Caribou Loo

1 part Bacardi 151
1 part Malibu Coconut Rum
2 parts orange/pineapple juice

Simple, strong and delicious

Booze thread? YES

I'm a huge fan of the Tom Collins, or scotch with ginger ale and bitters. Oh, and B52s are the best thing ever.

But if there's one thing I'm known for, it's alcoholic ice-cream floats. After much experimentation, I think the best combination so far was one part vodka, one part triple sec and two parts coca-cola with a scoop of toffee flavoured ice cream.

So guys. On a whim, I bought this Cake flavored vodka. I took a sip of it, it tastes more like the icing (kind of vanilla-ish) than actual cake.

Any thoughts what might be good to mix it with? I might make a milkshake with it later if I'm not feeling too lazy, but idk~

Also, when I was at the liquor store, I saw "Adult Chocolate Milk"

SOON

I don't know if I could stomach cake-flavored vodka on its own--that sounds like it would be too sweet for me. But mixing it into a milkshake sounds like a good idea.

And adult chocolate milk? Do want.

I know I'm not legal but this stuff sounds good :<

A cake-flavoured White Russian would be pretty amazing. Have your cake, and drink it too!

I second this notion.

Both of those (the cake vodka and the "adult chocolate milk"*) look delicious, Carly. You should send some to me! :loopy: (kidding)

*What is in it that makes it "adult"? Like, what kind of liquor?

omg a white russian. yes. I may try this~ Thanks guys :D

I'm not sure what kind of liquor it was. It was with the Kahlua so I imagine it's something along those lines. It was only 40 proof so I can put it in my coffee on days I don't have to work

http://www.adultchocolatemilk.com/ There's a website for it. AND A SONG. THEY WROTE A SONG ABOUT THE ADULT CHOCOLATE MILK. It's a chocolate milk party!!

Omg @Insanish Danish; you are bb you can look but don't drink we don't want to corrupt you :'(

I'm not sure I'm what you'd call bb exactly XD I will be legal in a year after all. And besides, it's not my fault some of these drinks sound tasty!

Out of those brony cocktails, the Pinkie Pie one sounds the most appealing to me. Mmm.

White Russians are so good.

Anyone like Long Island iced Teas?

I've never tried a Long Island iced tea, which kinda makes me feel ashamed considering where I live and all. :sweatlol:

But today I went to a party and I've discovered that I really like ginger ale and vodka. That's totally my new go-to drink for whenever I go to parties in the future.

Long Island Iced Teas scare me a little, it just sounds like the sort of drink that gets you incredibly fucked up.

Anyway, I almost bought either Malibu or Creme de Menthe today but I decided against them because I am trying to save money.

(Which didn't keep the website I tried to order from today from charging me three times. :banghead: but I digress...)
