The Brock-shipping Thread

This thread is dedicated to my favorite character on Pokemon! :crush:

We see him flirt with a girl in almost every episode. Why not discuss your thoughts about who you'd like to see Brock with eventually in the anime?

Rules:

1. Please no bashing, spamming, or flaming.

2. There is a Brock club, but this is different because it focuses on shipping only. Same-gender shipping talk is allowed, but try to discuss shippings with girls mainly, since they're what Brock-o focuses on the most! :XD:

3. Please stay on topic and nothing blatantly inappropriate!

I hope this is a successful thread! You can post really anything, including fanart, fanfiction (nothing past 30 pages), pictures, etc., but like I said before, stay on topic, don't spam, and don't post anything inappropriate.

Also, keep in mind that I'm sort of new to Bulbagarden, heh heh, so I have to admit, I'm a little nervous about creating a new thread, but it should be fun.

Breedershipping is pretty cute too!!! <3 I guess I'm also a muilti-shipper here! :lol: I have a tendancy to like and accept many ships! XD So I agree with everyone with how *insert shipping here* is cool! XD As long as I know the characters, and my brock loving does not help me with this!

I always called Brock x Lucy Luckshipping.

My Brockshipping days started out as a joke, actually, but I grew to find them quite appealing. My two absolute favourites are Kitchenshipping (Delia x Brock) and Luckshipping (Lucy x Brock).

I know Kitchenshipping sounds completely implausible, but watch those Indigo League episodes carefully. SOMETHING was going on, I swear!

Luckshipping, however, is my absolute favourite. It's second only to Advanceshipping in my mind, and I adore it. It's so frustrating since fanart and fanfics of it are so rare to come by. I was so angry at the writers for not letting Brock stay with Lucy; he'd run his course in the anime and I felt it was time he was dropped from the main cast, and this was the perfect opportunity. He liked her, she liked him; it all made sense. He could leave the show with grace and style and finally get the woman he deserved and who actually liked him back. Ugh, I could vent about this all day but I'll stop here.

I think the main reasons I like Luckshipping so much are in its similarities to the reasons I support Advanceshipping - they both like each other (though it is clearly much more blatant in Brock and Lucy's case), they both share a great deal in common (Brock being a former Gym Leader, Lucy being a Frontier Brain), and I think they would just make for a really healthy relationship. Lucy is quite shy and reserved, and so Brock's up-front approach helps to complete the two of them.

I thought it was really adorable how Lucy blushed every time Brock came close. Those episodes were perfect, save for the fact that he kept getting dragged away and they never became canon, but oh well T_T;

I often toyed with the idea of starting a Luckshipping thread over at Serebii, but it always seems like such a forgotten 'ship. I remember at the time the episodes aired in Japan it gained a lot of popularity, but it was very short-lived. One day I'd like to write a Luckshipping fic and give it the attention I feel it deserves.

Yeah, me too. I first started out as a devoted Breedershipper; then when I saw "May, We Harley Drew'd Ya!", I started to be a fan of Pewtershipping (well, that's what I call it), a.k.a. Brock and Solidad, for a short time. I still like it, but Breedershipping is meant to be! :crush: Stupid Zane, lol. If he wasn't in "Beauty and the Breeder", Brock and Suzie would've probably won the contest (who did win, anyway?) and fallen in love. *Sigh* But no, they wanted to keep the running gag that Brock can never get a girl. It is kind of funny with Croagunk nowadays, though. :lol:

I'm also a fan of Pikeshipping, Mangashipping, and Sissyshipping (Brock/Wilhemina- from "For Crying Out Loud!").

No, it's okay, vent, vent! Lol, it's just that I like long posts and we need some more material! I'm glad that my thread is getting attention already, I thought it wouldn't! Luckshipping is actually my second-favorite Brock shipping, and I agree, along with Rocketshipping and Questshipping, it's one of the most obvious shippings in the anime. You should start that Luckshipping thread; there's a lot of people who DO like that shipping the most; give it a try! =D

I just hate it when there's people who don't really give much thought to shippings with Brock in a fanfic and pair him up with either NO ONE, Officer Jenny, or Nurse Joy. Sure, it's the running gag of the series, but I like it when people change it up a little, don't you? =)

Personally, I find it interesting that Croagunk had no reaction whatsoever to Holly... Were there any other cases where Croagunk seemed not to notice...?

...and also I like LuckShipping, and when it comes to the manga and games I'm a GymShipper.

In the anime I support PanatikoShipping which is Brock x Commander Mars. Kinda weird I know but I have a couple of other reasons to suport it other than its cute.
1. Mars is my favorite villain (besides Jessie and James of course).
2. I would like to see Brock turn her away from evil *imagines it*
3. Their personalities seem to balance eachother out.
Also, I kinda like Brock x Temacu but not enough to support it.
So...yeah...that's it...bye!

Bouldershipper (w/Ash) in mind, Hollowshipper (w/Paul) in body, Jimshipper (w/James) at heart. I just...cannot imagine him with a girl. Shoppingshipping (w/May) isn't terribly far....oh.

--off the aesthetic scale, but it doesn't hit as right when I think about him with Surge, Jaco, Croagunk, Reggie, Harley (omg! <3), Saturn, Brodie, Tracey, or Max. They're just....waiwai~!

I KNOW, RIGHT? Seriously, something was going on. I blame Mr. Mime for getting in the way (I remember when I watched it as a kid I always wanted Brock to kick that thing out of the house and take its place ^^;;; ). I'm glad nobody's started throwing rocks at me for my liking of this 'ship; it's usually not a popular thing to go around talking about ^^;

Ha, well, we have this thread for now, so that's good enough for me. The reason I didn't want to vent is that I know it'll turn into me complaining about the direction the anime has taken (which I personally don't approve of), and so I don't want to offend any fans of the DP series, that's all. But yes... <_< I can't forgive those writers for breaking both Brock and Lucy's hearts in one episode >_>

But hey, maybe one day they'll see each other again and get back together at last! ^^

Ugh, I totally agree with you. Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy are even worse than pairing him with nobody, because it's like they didn't even try. Those characters are gags, not people; you might as well pair him up with an inanimate object (which I'm sure people do, actually) instead of putting him with Nurse Joy or Officer Jenny.

Breedershipping... Is that Brock x... Suzie? The girl with the Vulpix? I'm not entirely sure of her name. I can definitely see why that has some traction in the community, but it's nothing I personally ever had much of a reaction to. I always imagined it was more of an idol/wannabe relationship and those don't usually tend to end well in my experiences.

As for Gymshipping, I actually think there was some minor evidence towards it during the early Kanto episodes, but it unfortunately faded away. A shame, as Misty and Brock actually complimented each other quite well (though I think she was a little too loud for him at first).

I'll be sure to keep an eye on this thread, and if anyone finds any good Luckshipping fanstuff please let me know ^^

That's an interesting shipping as well (Panatikoshipping). Was there by chance any time when Brock/Mars communicated in the anime (not that there has to be- you should see some of the shippings that people make up... )?

Brock/Temacu (Amorousshipping): Ah, yes. My favorite episode of the series. I'm not a big fan of this shipping, but it's one of those ones that make you laugh just because if how similar they are! :lol: It was sad, though, to see that she fell for the doctor at the end instead. And the part where she feel for James was hilarious!

Haha, that's perfectly fine. We discuss all types of shippings on here. But Bulbapedia also once said that "shippings" don't necessarily have to be romantic. Therefore, most of the ones you mentioned, namely Boulder, Hollow, Jim/Brocket, and Olderbrothershipping (Brock/Reggie), I agree with, but it's more that they have more of a special friendship connection (especially Brock/Ash), rather than something romantic. But that's just my opinion. I'm so glad more people are commenting! Haha, sorry. Anyway, by chance, who's Brodie? I never watched all of the episodes...

I like Mangashipping, too- but strictly in the manga. In the anime, they had no real connection- unless turning him into a doll was some sort of affection- but then again, she turned Misty, and her mom, for that matter, into dolls as well.

Glad you understand; it's so annoying when you have those Truth/Dare fics, with improper grammar/spelling/punctuation (sorry, I'm an English freak, lol), that contain Brock and NJ or OJ. Soooo annoying...but it's funny in the anime!

Breedershipping, along with Luckshipping, is probably the most popular of all the Brock shippings. If you think about it, Suzie was one of the only ones whom Brock never actually directly flirted with, and even thought of her outside an episode that contained her. But everyone has their own choice of shipping, and Luckshipping is actually cuter, although I like Breedershipping a little better. :crush:

I like to think of Gymshipping as an extremely strong bond, a brotherly/sisterly/best friend bond that's just as strong without Ash. But it has a lot of potential, and they both have very similar personalities. I miss the original trio. *Sigh* :-(

Okay, I will . There is some fanart, but there's only a few pictures. You can get a lot of shippy pictures from the anime episode, "Queen of the Serpentine!", considering the amount of times that Lucy blushed, aww. :crush:

I really liked Florinda, too; even Misty noticed when she said, "Looks like Gloom and Bulbasaur aren't the only ones getting together," or something like that. But then some guy always has to come and ruin it. *Sigh* It always happens... :-/

Brock and Duplica are awesome, and they compliment each other well, but I think Ash and Duplica have a better chance, plus, they're closer in age. But still, Brock/Duplica, especially in the infamous "Imitation Team Rocket Motto", are a good shipping.

What about Wilhemina, guys? A.K.A. "Sissyshipping"? A lot of people, including me, sometimes, seem to forget and/or skip over her. You know, the girl with the pink dress and long emerald-colored hair who lost her Marrill? Here, I'll post some pics:

There was a pretty obvious romance between them as well. I wish Ash hadn't said that they had to leave at the end- she invited them to stay with her at her house! Grrrrr...this would have worked fine if they'd have stayed for a few days...ah, well.

I like shipping Takeshi with a Nurse Joy. I feel that he needs a sweet girl with a good understanding of Pokemon breeding. Plus, Joyling and Brockling genes are so powerful, I'm very curious about seeing what would come out of a mixture of those genes! Surely it can't be only extra Joylings.

that would work too, if only the writers would bring back more of those one-shot characters. There were some very interesting ones that Brock liked

Hey, Snake! What's up? Haha, I like the word "Joyling" and "Brockling" lol. In the anime, this is a cute shipping, and it would be better if it was the Pewter City Nurse Joy. I just don't like when people are writing a fanfic, and they have no one to pair Brock with, so they randomly choose a lame subplot for him and pair him up with NJ or OJ. That can be annoying sometimes, but in the anime, it's funny and cute. :crush:

Lol about her clothes. I kind of wish she'd worn something else, though, like jeans or a skirt, instead of a pink dress, but the umbrella made the outfit look cute. Yeah, I know, I wish those characters would come back, too. =)
