This is a place for christians to come talk about christ, but no swaring, all christians, that meens ALL, as long as you know that jesus is youre savior, if you just want to make trobble than go away.

I'll join. I'm an excepting and open Christian, but one none the less.

Yay, new member, we need a topic, who introduced you to christ? For me it would have to be my grandmother.

Humm...I'm Christian by birth. It's followed me my whole (short) life. I remember knowing of God and Jesus from when I was about four or so. My mother is a very religious person.

I don't know. It's just always been a part of me. A part I don't plan to change. All the proof I need that god is there is right in front of me. Who else but him could have given us this wonderful earth?

I'll join. It was definitely my parents who introduced me to Christianity (I was born a Christian as well), but my grandparents are far more religious than they are.

Was anyone upset by "The Golden Compass"? I swear I will have that book removed from the stores one day.

The movie looked appealing when I saw the trailer for it, but after I heard about the controversy, I decided not to see it.

I have not seen it ether, what was so bad about it?

I don't know all the details, but something against Christainity. Possibly trying to destroy it or something.

What I heard (may not be accurate) was that the author wanted to challenge C.S. Lewis' Christian themes in the Chronicles of Narnia books, so he had one of the characters kill "God". I'm not sure how true that is, but that's what I heard.

*Gasp* I love the Chronicles of Narnia! How could you not like lil' old Lucy?!

Anyways, what branch are you? I'm Methodist.

I found this on-line

Several key themes of the novels, such as the rejection of religion and the abuse of power in a fictionalised version of the Catholic Church, were diluted in the adaptation. Director Weitz said "in the books the Magisterium is a version of the Catholic Church gone wildly astray from its roots", but that the organization portrayed in his film would not directly match that of Pullman's books. Instead, the Magisterium represents all dogmatic organizations. Weitz said that New Line Cinema had feared the story's anti-religious themes would make the film financially unviable in the U.S., and so religion and God ("the Authority" in the books) would not be referenced directly.

Also in the books, the children kill god, however thare is no mention of Jesus in them, of course, you could pull up a Harry Potter book, and find clerly "Anti-christian" things.

Sorry, I posted this after you, I thought I had it befor you, but I am just plan christian.

PS.Do any of you go to a CMA chruch?

I'm half Catholic, half... whatever my dad is.

Yeah, I figured they wouldn't put the anti-Christian stuff in the movie. Too bad it was in the books, though.

Catholic huh? That reminds me, does anyone know that Pope John Paul (The last one) once blessed pokemon and said it "represented enormous ties of friendship and trust"?

Wow, I think I've heard that somewhere but I forgot about it. Well, it's nice to see some support to the franchise.

Is that real, or an April Fools Joke, becouse I know a lot ( A LOT) of people who think that it is satinistic, like Magic cards.

It's not a joke. I mean it. I'm really into tricking people anyway.

Umm...as far as I can see is that that is about just Jesus, not about the christisan fath itself, for instence, I may be said to go some whare elce if I ask what is youre favorite christian move. (That is the next topic)

I'll join.

Topic 1: I watched the movie, it's really good. I heard of those controversies, yet I don't really mind. It's truly not subliminal.

Regarding the Pope: John Paul II is very influential leader. We love him in the Catholic world.

BTW, I'm Catholic.
