Between Hoenn and Johto lies an island, named Utropica Island. You've probably never heard of it though, as humans rarely set foot on here. It once featured not only forests and lakes, but also mountainous regions and even a sleeping volcano, making it the perfect habitat for many different Pokémon. As such, it became a paradise for all kinds of Pokémon.

But it couldn't last.

A meteor from space crashed into the ocean, near the island. As a result, the island's sleeping volcano was activated, destroying all that could not escape this disaster.

After these terrible events, the island was completely deserted, barren of all life.
No trees and plant life to provide shade and food and the water that was left was toxic, undrinkable.

Months passed and nothing changed. The months slowly became years, but the island was still a wasteland.

And now, almost twenty years later, the situation is still the same, which is considered odd.
An ecosystem like this should restore itself as time passes. But there hasn't been any progress. Something must be...different.

---

The professor fell silent and took a step back. The projector was still on, showing an aerial photograph of the island. The island was mostly a dark, dusty brown, with little black spots (volcanic rubble, you assumed) covering it. The volcano that had destroyed all was located at the north-point of the island, though it was now inactive. Further to the south were several large dark holes that once must have been lakes, but they seemed to have dried up. Completely down to the south point of the island was a large bay, surrounded by a thin border of yellow-ish brown, all what was left over from the beach.

The professor faced her audience again.
"This", she gestured to the picture behind her,"is why we have invited you tonight. We want you to travel to the island, not only to investigate, but also to help restore the island."
She paused again.
"To guarantee success, we have selected a wide range of professionals to carry out this mission. You will travel to the island by ship."
She pushed one of the projector remote's buttons and the picture changed. A large ship appeared. S.S. Paradise was painted on its hull.
"The ship is not only fitted with all modern conveniences, like bathrooms, a kitchen and a large common room, but also has enough room for the different Pokémon species that will be released on the island. As long as you are on the island, this will be your home. Tomorrow, you will get a tour on the ship, to familiarize you with its structure. You will leave in two days time, everything has been prepared already. If there are no further questions, you are dismissed now."

Now I hopefully have sufficiently set the mood for this roleplay, we'll get on to the rules and other necessary tid-bits to get this flowing.

So, lets get to the rules and guidelines first, I'll try to keep everything simple. It's probably nothing new, but at least take a look at them.
  • First, off all, the Bulbagarden forum rules. It's probably a given you've to follow them, so do that.
  • This will be, what I call a literate roleplay. The term isn't widely used here, it seems, but it essentially means you're able to produce coherent sentences, only make occassional grammar/spelling errors, your characters aren't Sues, don't god-mod, tennis or power-play. Guess you could call it a somewhat experienced roleplayer.
  • On the topic of swearing. I'm fine with light swearing. Just make sure it stays within reason. Nothing too offending, don't overdo it and you should be fine.
  • Next is romance. Just like swearing, keep it within reason. Hugging/kissing is fine, anything over that is a no. And if for some reason or another, you still want to take it past that, take it to PM.
  • On the subject of doubling. I'm perfectly fine with it, unless a lot of people are interested in joining. If you want to add another character, please inform me before you do so.
  • I don't like this one too much, as I hope we won't even need it. But my word is law. I have the right to kick you out of the roleplay, settle disagreements, all that stuff. But I hope it isn't necessary.
  • If you want me to reserve a spot for you, I can do that for 48 at most. If you haven't posted a sign-up by then, I won't sae a spot for you any longer
  • Lastly, respect for your fellow roleplayers (again, a given) and don't forget to have fun!

And if you've got any questions or remarks, feel free to post them here, or send me a PM.

Next thing on the list is the setting, as the characters will spend a great deal there.
I already touched the subject in the intro, but I figured a simple description couldn't do any harm.

The S.S. Paradise

The S.S. Paradise is a modern, medium-sized ship. It has four levels, two below, two above deck. From the bottom level to the top level:
BD2: The lowest level of the ship, it mainly harbours the engine rooms and storage rooms. There isn't really anything of interest here.
BD1: This level is partly above water, so there are portholes offering a view on the outside world and giving daylight the chance to come inside(Unlike BD2, where the only light is artificial). The Pokémon that will be released on the island are kept in the bow. Eggs are stored here as well and there's some sort of hatchery located here as well for the Pokémon Breeders. Most others work here as well, depending on their profession (as I don't know what kind of characters will be joining exactly, I can't say much more about this yet). The kitchen and cabins for the crew of the ship are located in the stern.
AD1: This is the first level completely above water. There's not much of interest outside on deck. You'll find the team's cabins here, showers (separate for man and woman, they were actually that considerate), a dining room (directly above the kitchen) and some sort of common room (situated next to the dinner room, so both are in the stern, cabins/showers are in the bow)
AD2: The top level is home to the bridge (in the bow) and a special meeting room, used for official stuff.

There's a big staircase in the middle of the ship (so between bow and stern), giving easy access to all levels. Both in the bow and stern there's a pair of small stairways leading from BD2 to AD1.

Utropica Island

The island roughly has the shape of a triangle, one point north, the other two in the south-east/west. The bay is at the south side of the island, between the aforementioned two points.
The beach is somewhat yellowish brown (from the volcanic ash and waste). Further inland, this changes into a more soily ground, which is most likely highly fertile (though part of the fertile top layer has been washed away by the occasional rainstorm in the past twenty years).

Gradually, the terrain becomes more rocky and mountainous (though there are no real mountains besides the volcano, the terrain only gets steeper). At the north point is the volcano (a small shield volcano, which normally don't have such explosive eruptions, so the last eruption was highly unusual). Obviously, the north side of the island is the highest point of the island and the south side the lowest.

Roughly in the center of the island is the largest and deepest lake and the only one that hasn't dried up completely. The bit of water left here is highly toxic however, so undrinkable for most Pokémon. It probably was fed by a spring once, but there's no longer any water coming from it, so it has either been blocked or has dried up.

A river leads in south-eastern direction to the beach. A long the way, there's one smaller lake, but it has dried up completely, so it's pretty much a big hole. From here on, the river leads southwards to the beach.

There's currently really nothing more to the island. To get from the south point of the island to the north point by foot, it takes approximately two and a half day.

Lastly, in preparation of the arrival of the S.S. Paradise, there's been made a simple wooden pier so the ship can anchor more easily. It's just more convenient. This is the only trace there's been human presence at the island in the past month (and it went no further then the beach).

Sign-up Form

Name: Does it need explanation?
Age: Same as the above. One note though, characters should be at least 18. Because it wouldn't make much sense if they just hired a bunch of teenagers, would it?
Gender: Again, this shouldn't be too difficult
Profession: Why is your character part of the team? What is their role? I briefly mentioned it in the intro, the wide range of professionals. Some examples: a ranger, a breeder, a normal trainer, a botanist, a hydrographer or anything else for that matter. As long as it would fit the plot (if you're not sure, add a reason why your characters profession would fit). Also, keep in mind we only need one of most professions, in some cases two (we could have two rangers/breeders for example, but we only need one botanist).
Appearance: You don't have to be too in-depth, though make sure you give a proper description (so tell me more then just their hair/eye colour and what kind of clothes they wear) One or two paragraphs should be enough, though more is alright too.
First impression: So, from here on, it's going to be a little different. You see, I like to actually discover things about other characters in a roleplay, but if you tell me everything about your characters personality and history, there's not much to find out anymore. So instead, I want you to write down what someone's first impression of your character would be. So, how would someone see your character if they hadn't known him/her for more then a few days? Two or three paragraphs should be enough.
Introduction: I figured that after the first meeting organised by the professor there would have been some sort of introduction thing. You've probably had them yourself before. And as the plot will start after their arrival on Utropica Island, I thought everyone could include this in their sign-up. One paragraph is more then enough. Just put in things you think your character would say to/share with the team during their introduction.
Party Pokémon: Nickname(if there is one), species name(or an image), gender, ability, nature and move set of the Pokémon. Additional information is optional.

I've rambled way too much by now XD Didn't scare you off, nor bored you to death yet? Great!
So, the plot will start in a weeks time at most (slightly depends on how fast the sign-ups go, if there are enough within two days, it will start earlier).

EDIT:
So, everything got a little later then I'd expected. Starting this up in a few days, as soon as possible. Sign-ups are currently still open, as we have room for one or two more characters. Thank you for your patience guys!

Hmm, am I forgetting something? Oh yeah, my own sign-up. It's probably a decent example when filling out your own as well. At least, I hope so XD

EDIT: I added another character and bumped up Skyler's age a little.

My sign-ups
Name: Skyler Angelo
Age: 23
Gender: Male

Profession: Ranger - Was one of the first to be requested to partake in the operation. As a ranger, it is his duty supervise the project and lead the general investigation of the island.

Appearance
Skyler stands roughly 6'2" with decent posture. He has a slender and lean build; his work as a ranger keeps him in shape, but he doesn't have a work-out routine. If he didn't do his ranger job, he would be fairly skinny.

He has a fair, healthy-looking skin, although his ear-length, raven black hair makes him look comparatively pale. His face is somewhat pointed, with amber eyes and a perpetual scowl. He has a straight nose, a thin mouth and a small black goatee. A thin scar runs from his left cheekbone to his jawline.

When on duty, he's clad in an alternate version of the Sinnoh Ranger Branch uniform. He wears black jeans, a black shirt, a dark green, short sleeved jacket, dark green boots and he ditched the stupid hat. In his spare time he prefers to wear casual, comfortable clothing in dark colours.

First impression
When it comes to first impressions, Skyler doesn't make a very good one. He'll purposely keep his distance from you, answers rather curtly and most likely throws in a harsh remark or two, apparently not caring if he hurts someone's feelings with it. Most people tend to leave him alone after a while.

A possibly more positive trait that becomes apparent quite quickly is Skyler's survival mindset. If something needs to be done, he's probably the first to do it and do it well. You don't get by in life if you just laze around or squabble endlessly about it.

Introduction
"My name is Skyler Angelo. I'm twenty-three years old, come from Veilstone City and have been a Pokémon Ranger in the Sinnoh branch for about four years now."

"As you might have figured out by now, I'm here to supervise the project, which means you either get your instructions from professor Tilia or from me. If you don't like that idea, your problem, just don't complain to me."

Party Pokémon
Spr_4h_176.png

Faunus, male
Serene Grace, Naive nature
Mirror Move/Metronome/AncientPower/Aerial Ace
As Skyler's first Pokémon, they share a rather close bond. The two met in a somewhat unusual way, Skyler found his egg behind a dumpster and it eventually hatched. Faunus could be considered his partner Pokémon, though he's caught in a Pokéball (just like all Skyler's other Pokémon, as is custom for rangers from the Sinnoh region).
Spr_4h_112_m.png

Damon, male
Lightningrod, Lonely nature
Stone Edge/Dig/Surf/Strength
Damon was caught as a Rhydon during Skyler's ranger training in the Battle Zone (all new Sinnoh rangers get this training). He is the powerhouse of the team and can serve as a form of transport as well, making him quite versatile. He's probably the most reliable Pokémon on the team.
Spr_5b_454_m.png

Rangi, male
Dry Skin, Impish nature
Sucker Punch/Poison Jab/Focus Blast/Bulk Up
Skyler caught this troublemaker when he was assigned to patrol the area around Pastoria City. There were reports about a Croagunk scaring and pestering travellers, so Skyler investigated the matter. Turned out the Croagunk was mainly acting the way he was out of boredom, so Skyler offered him a place on his team.
Spr_4d_429.png

Morgana, female
Levitate, Sassy nature
Shadow Ball/Pain Split/Rain Dance/Heal Bell
The fourth, final and only female member of the team. Skyler captured her as a Misdreavus in Eterna Forest, there's not really anything interesting about it. Her role is to support her team members with her moves, though she's capable of holding her own in a battle as well.
===
Name: Fae Garner
Age: 19
Gender: Female

Profession: Breeder - She's the granddaughter and apprentice of Kalea Garner, a renowned Pokémon breeder

Appearance
Fae is rather petite with a height of 5'3", a slender build and lean muscle developed from swimming. She has waist-length black hair, which she recently dip-dyed light blue and an olive skin. Her face is round, with dark almond shaped eyes, a small nose and full lips.

She mostly wears dresses, all of them in light, bright colours and with floral patterns, which makes her look somewhat exotic. When the weather happens to be cold for once, she tends to layer, as nearly her whole wardrobe is build for summer weather.

First impression
Fae has a bubbly, upbeat personality, which becomes apparent as soon as you meet her. She's full of energy, a little naive and rather blunt, which surprises people at times.

She's also rather dreamy, if not to say absent minded and chances are she might not have heard whatever you were telling her, though she doesn't do it on purpose. It just happens.

Introduction
"..."

"Oh! It is my turn? Sorry!"

"Well, my name is Fae. Fae Garner. I'm nineteen and I've lived nearly my whole life on the Sevii Islands. I really love living there, the weather's always beautiful and sunny and it's perfect for swimming."

"Euhm, I probably should tell you why I'm here as well. So, my grandmother is Kalea Garner and she's a Pokémon breeder. And they actually asked her to join this team, but she said 'I'm too old for this kind of thing. I'll send my granddaughter instead, I assure you she's a suitable replacement.' And that's why I'm here."

Party Pokémon
Spr_4d_330.png

Spirit, male
Levitate, Brave nature
Earthquake/Dragon Claw/Fire Blast/Protect
Received as a gift from her father at the age ten, Fae and Spirit have spend quite a lot of time together. The Flygon is rather protective of its trainer (sometimes overly so), though that's probably a good thing as well, considering Fae's dreaminess, which more then often get her in hazardous situations.
Spr_5b_154_f.png

Maya, female
Leaf Guard, Calm nature
Magical Leaf/Aromatherapy/Frenzy Plant/Heal Pulse
When Fae became an apprentice of her grandmother at age eleven, Maya's egg was the first egg she got to take care off. The two bonded immediately and Fae was allowed to keep the Pokémon. Ever since, Maya has been helping out Fae with her duties and simultaneously keeps an eye on her.
Spr_5b_187.png

Wiki, female
Chlorophyll, Mild nature
Synthesis/Cotton Guard/Energy Ball/Flash
This Hoppip was found as an egg not too long ago by Fae. The Jumpluff season had passed already and the flocks of newly born Hoppip were leaving. The egg still hadn't hatched and Fae feared it would not hatch in time to travel with its friends and decided to take care of the egg. Her prediction came true, as the egg hatched several weeks later and all Hoppip had left by then. She named the Hoppip after the berry it seemed to be the most fond off.

Name: Joseph and Joshua “The Clones” Antonimous

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Profession: Naturists. Not in the no-clothes sense, but walkers of nature. They have a connection with plants, as well as animals and Pokemon. Here to try and re-grow the island’s plant life, help the Pokemon settle in, and also act as vets.

Appearance:

clonesbanner.png

Joe and Josh stand tall for their age, at six foot two, and have a pale complexion. They both have messy black hair (though Joshes is approximately an inch longer) and bright, turquoise eyes. They both also have a thin, four-inch long scar on the side of their face (right for Joe, left for Josh) because they were born Siamese.

They usually wear black, sometimes “mixing-it-up” with blues, greens and pinks. They’re never seen without a pair of fingerless gloves (style may vary). They each also have a silver chain around their neck. that has a small, glass phial on it which is said to contain water from the lake of a Lugia. They wear them for good luck.

First Impression:
Joe and Josh come across as childish, quirky and, most importantly, insane. They make countless jokes, and can annoy pretty much anyone, even each other. They also tend to finish each other’s sentences, so some people tend to (inaccurately) think that they’re psychic. When working, however, they have a complete personality switch, being determined and calm when the situation calls for it.

Introduction:
“Hi, I’m Joe Antonimous-”

“-And I’m his brother, Josh.”

“We’re both sixteen, and from Snowpoint, in Sinnoh-”

“-And we’re here to restore the island to its former beauty.”

“Our main priority will be helping the Pokemon settle into their new environment-”

“-But we’ll also be working on restoring the Island’s plants.”

“We’re also here as medics-”

“-So you should bring any injured Pokemon to us.”

Pokemon:
Joe:

197umbreon.png

~Once~
Female
Synchronize
Shadow Ball, Moonlight, Double Team, Swift

Once was Joe‘s first Pokemon. She hatched from an egg that he and Josh took home, along with two others, when their mother, a Glaceon, was killed by an Abomasnow. They‘ve been the best of friends for almost five years now. She is extremely loyal, and graceful in battle.

003venusaurf.png

~Ivy~
Female
Overgrow
Vine Whip, Razor Leaf, Synthesis, Solarbeam

Joe chose Ivy as his starter Pokemon when he and Josh started their journey through Kanto. She was his second ever Pokemon. Ivy was extremely shy to begin with, but once she saw Joe and Once playing in a field, she plucked up the courage to go and join them. She is still slightly shy to this day, but can often get over it.

024arbok.png

~Serpico~
Male
Shed Skin
Ice Fang, Fire Fang, Thunder Fang, Gunk Shot

Found on the way to Cerulean City. Not a very interesting story; Joe saw him, battled him, and caught him. He likes to scare people. A lot.

350miloticf.png

~Drakainai~
Female
Cute Charm
Aqua Ring, Water Pulse, Twister, Surf

Joe met Drakie in Hoenn, just outside of Sootopolis City. She was trying to fend off a pack of Sharpedo at the time, and failing miserably until Josh called out his Wailord to disperse them. She was badly injured, so Joe caught her and took her to a Pokemon Centre, planning on releasing her when she was healed. As it turns out, the Sharpedo did some serious damage, and, according to Nurse Joy, she wouldn‘t survive in the wild, so Joe decided to keep her. She‘s very affectionate, and doesn’t like battling much.

376metagross.png

~Daigo~
Technically genderless, but is referred to as male
Clear Body
Hammer Arm, Psychic, Meteor Mash, Zen Headbutt

Caught as a Beldum who was stubbornly attached to the space station‘s wall in Mosdeep City. It was causing communication errors, until Joe coaxed it off with a few of his home-made Poffins. Daigo is thought to be very elderly for a Metagross, as his body has rusted slightly. He has a very short temper.

373salamence.png

~Cruxis~
Male
Intimidate
Dragon Pulse, Dragon Claw, Aerial Ace, Dragon Dance

Joe received Cruxis from a trade, in return for his old Blaziken. He was untrusting of Joe to start with, but soon came around.

Josh:
196espeonz.png

~Amethyst~
Female
Synchronize
Psychic, Morning Sun, Double Team, Swift

Amethyst was Joshes first Pokemon. She hatched from an egg that he and Joe took home, along with two others, when their mother, a Glaceon, was killed by an Abomasnow. They‘ve been the best of friends for almost five years now. She‘s quite lazy, and likes to make people happy, usually by singing.

006charizard.png

~Charming~
Male
Blaze
Flamethrower, Dragon Rage, Heat Wave, Earthquake

Josh chose Charming as his starter Pokemon when he and Joe started their journey through Kanto. He was his second ever Pokemon. Due to his shiny colouration, Charming was extremely haughty and proud, thinking himself better than all other Charmanders. He still kept this attitude up until Josh challenged the Pewter Gym, where he had to drop it and listen to Joshes commands or be flattened by an Onix. Charming is, nowadays, very loyal and proud, not responding well to insults.

130gyarados.png

~Fluffy~
Male
Intimidate
Surf, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower

Josh caught Fluffy while he was terrorizing a family, swimming on the shores of Olivine City. He thinks the nickname is kinda “cute.” Fluffy kinda hates him.

474porygonz.png

~Data~
Technically genderless, but is referred to as male
Download
Conversion 2, Tri Attack, Discharge, Aerial Ace

Josh just found and caught Data. Nothing really special. Data‘s quite mischievous and likes to make random sound effects to scare people. Has been heavily hacked by Josh.

262mightyena.png

~Padfoot~
Male
Quick Feet
Sucker Punch, Dig, Crunch, Dark Pulse

Caught as Joshes second Pokemon in Hoenn, the first being his starter. Padfoot is very arrogant, and when he barks, it sounds like a laugh.

330flygon.png

~Jabberwock~
Female
Levitate
Dragon Breath, Dragon Claw, Giga Drain, Fissure

Traded as a Trapinch for Joshes Gastly. She doesn‘t like new people and is quite shy.

hey Dieter~ 'tis Desert from Neo. sorry it's taken me this long to get over here.

here is Chris.
Name: Chris Ramsey
Age: 42
Gender: female

Profession: researcher
Her degrees are in genetics, but Chris is part of the convoy more as the cell biologist. In the short term she will be part of the sub-group that investigates why the island has not supported life. In the long term she will monitor the population and make sure that whatever hindered recovery before doesn't happen again

Appearance
Height: 5'1" / 159 cm
Hair: a shade of mahogany on the line between true brunette and ginger, with lowlights of deep cinnamon and highlights of copper. She keeps it cropped boyishly short - above her ears short - and doesn't do much more than wash and comb it, which means that it sticks out wherever it wants to.
Eyes: medium gray with the barest tinge of blue that deepens in intensity the further from her pupil, so at a distance her eyes have the slate blue shade of clouds at dusk.
Build: androgynous. Her shoulders are wider than average, her hips on the narrow side, and her bust is quite unimpressive. She keeps herself strong and wiry; she isn't buff, necessarily, but her muscles are well-defined. From a distance, she looks like a half-grown boy.
Wardrobe preference: cool and neutral colors; tee shirts, tanktops, and jeans that are loose enough to give her range of movement without impeding it. Sneakers or boots.

First impression
Chris comes off as fairly moody. Some days or to some people she might be perfectly sociable and actually nice to talk to, but for some unknown reason(s) turn around and snap someone's head off. There are patterns to these things that can be discovered in time, but within the first week, she would seem entirely unpredictable.

She is also quite blunt. She often doesn't have the patience for a whole lot of social prancing around, so if she is irritated she will let you know. This is due to a very sharp temper and even sharper tongue; most people who get rebuffed in such a manner are spared the worst of her real anger. And for such a tiny lady she is very fierce. And carries a Glock.

Introduction
"My name is Chris Ramsey, as you've presumably guessed by now. I have an MD/PhD in genetics, but I remember enough other biology to be useful here.

"I've been around pokemon my whole life - caught my first one when I was twelve in Wayward Cave, Sinnoh. I'm actually from Buffalo, New York in the United States but my family moved to Sinnoh and I've never really gotten away.

"That was supposed to be a joke. Anyway, that's the basics of me, I guess."

Party pokemon
Spr_4p_445_m.png

Hercules, male, lv. 75
Sand Veil, Adamant nature
Stone Edge, Earthquake, Outrage, Brick Break
As Chris' first and only pokemon, Hercules has a very tight bond with his trainer. He was caught by Chris as a gible in a fit of rebellion against her family, and has been with her since her teenage years. She was slow to train him, and did very little in the way of Gym challenges. However, he is a skilled fighter, and often does not require (or want) much guidance from Chris when he battles.

Hey Desert, no problem. Your sign-up is accepted.

The Anonymous, sorry, but your sign-up is pending.
There's not much wrong with it, it's just the personality part that needs to be edited into 'First impression'.
Sorry for being so nit-picky, but if I let this go through other people might complain about it.

EDIT: Your sign-up is now accepted.

Name:
Daemon Lycos
Age:
17
Gender:
Male

Profession:
Daemon is a specialist in pokemon adaptation. He is to study the environment to figure out what adaptations the pokemon will have to make to survive comfortably. He will also monitor the breeding program to decide what pokemon are best suited to be released.

Appearance:
Daemon's hair is unnaturally black and is constantly in front of his eyes. He had been born with black hair, but as time went on it began to lighten. He then began to dye it the darkest shade he could possibly find. His eyes are dark brown and his skin is fairly tanned, but that is mostly from his heritage seeing as he prefers to stay out of the sun. He stands at 6'2" with a medium build. While not the darkest person in the world, Daemon does like to keep up an image as one. His entire wardrobe is mostly made up of shades of grey and black. He's most often seen wearing a black zip up hoodie over a dark grey t-shirt. He never wears anything but jeans which are the only things in his wardrobe that can stray from black. He tends to prefer dark blue, baggy jeans over anything else. He wears black and white skating shoes, despite not knowing the first thing about skating. Around his neck hangs a silver chain with a crescent moon pendant at the end. He also wears a spiked, dog collar bracelet on his left arm. Hanging across his chest is a dark grey bandolier that carries his pokeballs.

First impression:
Daemon comes off as, in the simplest sense, an asshole. He obviously prefers to be alone and hates being helped. If anyone were brave enough to ask he would immediately reject the offer. He chooses not to speak if he can avoid it most of the time only responding with grunts and growls. When you do get a response out of him it almost always sarcastic. He quite clearly does not take anger well. He has been known to snap into fits of rage.

Introduction:
"God I hate when I have to do this...I am Daemon Lycos. I have spent most of my life in the Kanto-Johto region until now. I am a professor of pokemon adaptations. All you guys need to know about me is that I will be monitoring the breeding program for most of my time. Mr. Ranger over there knows the rest of my job details. Now if you please don't bother me, don't talk to me, and don't even come near me unless it is extremely important. If I need anything I will approach you. Got that? Good."

Party Pokémon:

Sparky, male
Spr_5b_135.png

Daemon's first pokemon. Recieved as a gift from his grandfather on his tenth birthday. He had meant to evolve it into a Umbreon, but it accidentally evolved in a cave system after finding a thunderstone. Has the best bond with Daemon by far.

Absolute Zero, female
Spr_4p_471.png

Given to him as a present from his father on his eleventh birthday. His family had a thing for Eevee's mainly because of their rare, unstable genetic structure.

Urania, female
Spr_4h_148.png

Caught as a Dratini during Daemon's travels in Johto. Wears an everstone around her neck as Daemon refuses to allow her to evolve.

Philip, male
Spr_4d_199.png

Accidentally caught as a Slowpoke during Daemon's early adventures. In his attempt to get rid of it he threw it into a river where a Shellder hastily bit its head. He's kept it since then as his smartest pokemon.

I'm sorry, but your sign-up is denied
Not only are you missing things in your sign-up, but I also feel like this character would not fit the roleplay

Am I being too critical or something?
Are the rules to strict?
Or do you guys just don't like the sign-up form?

Cause I made it this way for a reason...

Please save me a spot! This sounds fun! Maybe by tomorrow or the next day...

EDIT: Wait, sorry, just wondering:
a. Will there be any battling? Because I've never done this in an RP...
b. I can't see the Spoilers....

Sorry for getting back to you so late

Though this roleplay isn't battle focussed, I can imagine there are occasions where there will be battled
So, yes, it's likely there will be battles, but not they are not a major factor
It's even possible your character never has to battle
But that all depends on what happens during the roleplay of course

And as for your spoiler problem:

Hey, its Glitch/Zookie from Neo. Sorry this is a bit rambly and took awhile to get put up-- been busy with schoolwork. .______.

Name; Jaron Kitch
Age; 20, nearly 21
Gender; male

Profession; Trainer/Traveler
Jaron is keen on adventuring. He absolutely lives for exploring and discovering the unknown. Jaron documents his findings (or anything he finds interesting, really) in a beat up notepad filled with notes and sketches that he carries in a knapsack on his back. Along the way he'll train his partners and try to earn Gym badges when necessary, although it is not his first priority.
The hunger for knowledge is what brought him to the group exploring the island. He wants to know why. Why hasn't the island healed? Why is it a desolate wasteland of, well, nothing?

Appearance;
build; Jaron is tall, standing at approximately 6'1", with a lightly built, long-legged, lean frame. He's tanned and muscled from always being out in the sun and exploring. By "exploring", we mean clambering over rocks, stumbling up hills, crawling around on all fours, wading through rivers and anything else necessary to get to anything that he could find remotely fascinating.
face; Jaron's hair is short and naturally a dark brown, but its got natural sun highlights making it more of a medium brown. Its wavy, but is kept usually at ear length or a little shorter. He likes to put gel in it to spike it ever so slightly. His eyes are a very light blue and lacking in pigment, making them look almost a stormy grey on occasion. Jaron has a light splash of freckles across his cheeks as well.
clothing; Jaron isn't too picky with what he wears. He's not generally "weather-conscious", and typically only notices if he's uncomfortable (too hot/cold) if he's standing still. Its not uncommon for him to be in a v-neck t-shirt and cargo shorts on a cold, brisk, windy day.
That being said, cargo shorts, jeans and v-necks/t-shirts make up the majority of Jaron's wardrobe. He prefers sneakers over everything when it comes to footwear, but he won't object to a nice pair of hiking boots.

First Impression;
Jaron is pretty easy-going, silly and tends to speak before thinking about the consequences. He'll usually try to lighten the mood of any situation. Although he doesn't mean to hurt feelings, Jaron's use of sarcasm can be pretty heavy and might come off as insulting. He loves to tell corny, immature, annoying jokes that would make some people roll their eyes and laugh but make most roll their eyes and scoff at him. He uses his hands and makes gestures when he talks, which make him appear somewhat scatter-brained. Jaron is generally one of the friendliest guys, but if something is done to upset him, he can turn stone cold. He tends to hold grudges and these can be minor and short or long drawn out affairs. Confident and proud, he usually isn't the one to say sorry first, even if he knows the problem is his fault.

Introduction;
"Well, hiya. The name's Jaron Kitch, but I don't care whatcha call me... as long as I know you're talking to me, I guess. Most people just call me Jaron or Kitch. Uhh, anyway. I'm almost twenty-one and from Sunyshore City in the Sinnoh region. I love traveling, but that'll always be my home.

The main reason as to why I'm here would probably be to help explore. Sounds lame, I know. But I'm always wanting to know more about the world and the people and Pokemon in it. I'm a pretty decent Trainer too, so my Pokemon and I would definitely be willing to help out with anything needed.

That's about it, I think."

Pokemon;
405.gif

Name; Kovu
Gender; Male
Breed; Luxray
Ability; Intimidate
Nature; Naughty
Moveset; Crunch, Rain Dance, Thunder, Spark
History/Personality;
Kovu was Jaron's first Pokemon and without a doubt his favorite. Jaron was notably whiny about Pokemon as a child, talking endlessly about the time when he would get his first one and go on his adventure. Frustrated, his dad went out and caught a fairly common Pokemon, a Shinx, a few days before Jaron turned eight to shut the kid up. The pair took awhile to bond, as Kovu didn't really care for Jaron's loud mouth at first, but they eventually became inseparable. At the standard age of ten, Jaron left on his adventure with Kovu.
Typically, Kovu resides outside of the Pokeball and walks along at Jaron's side. Kovu is extremely arrogant and looks down on many. He is challenging, hard-headed and has a fiery temper to boot. The Luxray can be very hard to deal with at times, but it loves Jaron and will do anything the Trainer asks of it.

398.gif

Name; Ravi
Gender; Male
Breed; Staraptor
Ability; Intimidate
Nature; Jolly
Moveset; Return, Brave Bird, Fly, Roost
History/Personality;
Jaron's first caught Pokemon. Nothing extraordinarily special.
Ravi is friendly and helpful. Its fast, intelligent, and unlike Kovu, very eager to please. Ravi will go above and beyond to prove its worth as it feels subordinate to Jaron's Luxray. When battling, Ravi tends to take light, fast hits before retreating a safe distance away.

365.gif

Name; Conan
Gender; Male
Breed; Walrein
Ability; Thick Fat
Nature; Hardy
Moveset; Surf, Ice Beam, Hail, Crunch
History/Personality;
Conan was caught as a Spheal when Jaron was exploring the Hoenn region. Again, nothing super special about this besides the fact it was his first Pokemon to remain in his party that did not come from Sinnoh.
Funnily enough due to its type, Conan is cold as ice. It doesn't speak or move too often, but it carries itself with pride giving it a formidable appearance, especially in battle. It'll stare foes down with stony eyes before suddenly lunging with its tusks.

059.gif

Name; Cadence
Gender; Female
Breed; Arcanine
Ability; Flash Fire
Nature; Sassy
Moveset; Lava Plume, Sunny Day, ExtremeSpeed, Morning Glory
History/Personality;
Cadence's story is a bit more interesting than the previous two. A mysterious trainer left a Growlith at the Day Care Center, but never returned. The Growlith sat outside for ages, awaiting the return of its trainer loyally until one day its sadness got the best of it and it gave up on the trainer. Jaron visited the Day Care one day to drop in and say hello, and ended up playing with Cadence for hours. The two bonded, and the Day Care owners granted Jaron the Growlith under one condition: if the Trainer ever returned for her, he had to give her back. Cadence has been with Jaron for ages and not once has anyone asked about her.
Cadence is somewhat shy due to her abandonment. Her ears are almost always back and her tail usually low, but she's loving and sweet. Cadence is considered the "mother hen" of the team, keeping the others in check.

147.gif

Name; Rhapsody
Gender; Female
Breed; Dratini
Ability; Shed Skin
Nature; Quirky
Moveset; Leer, Thunderwave, Twister, ???
History/Personality;
Rhapsody was obtained by Jaron as an egg from a mysterious cloaked stranger. He had been wanting a Dratini and was surprised when the egg hatched into one. However the egg hatched on a beach, and the energetic newborn escaped Jaron's grasp and slipped into the water. Jaron had quite a time reclaiming the hatchling as the cursed thing kept slipping underwater and reappearing out of nowhere, but with patience (and the occasional swear word) Jaron finally caught and her.
Rhapsody is bubbly and adventurous, tending to get into too much trouble for its own good with its little pranks. It will provoke stronger Pokemon accidentally, so Jaron has to always keep an eye on the Dragon Pokemon.

Hey Glitch, or would you rather be called Zookie?
Anyway, your sign-up is accepted
But, just to make sure if I understand well
Jaron will be a general explorer/adventurer type? Who's objective is to scout the island and all?

kenshin akagi, right now your sign-up is still pending
It's a little lacking, so I would advise you to read the sign-up form again and improve your sign-up where necessary
Once that's done, I will have no problem accepting it

Either one works, I'm not picky. c:
Yes, that's it basically if that's okay~

Name: Aoife Villariis

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Profession: Apprentice of Professor Tilia

Appearance: Aoife has long, soft, coppery hair. He bangs are dyed pink, green, cyan and orange. She has well-defined cheekbones and a sharp nose. Her eyes are rather deep set and have large dark circles, with average -looking eyebrows. Her nails are usually chipped and surrounded by hang-nails because of anxiety. Aoife is rather short at about 5 feet 3 inches, and she has a thin build. She has almost no muscle from years of inactivity at a computer or desk. Aoife has ugly, ghost-like skin from, again, inactivity. Computer screens have basically bleached the color from her skin. She usually wears plain, shapeless tee-shirt and jeans, but for her trip to the island her mother forced her to buy some clothes that will suit her a little better. Now, Aoife wears plain shorts, billowy, colorful shirts, skirts and even a few sundresses, even though she dislikes them.

First Impressions: One would notice Aoife’s mild Tourette’s Syndrome from the verbal and physical tics. She often repeats to herself “I’m sorry!” and can scream without warning. She frequently shakes and can even hit herself. Aoife usually taps her wrists when she’s nervous or twists her hair around her finger. Her general appearance is one of anxiety. She is just all-around knowledgeable and loves to read anything, particularly science non-fiction. Aoife takes everything very seriously and can't tolerate any jokes that may be hurtful to others. She spends more time trying to please others rather than pleasing herself. All of the friends she makes are for life, unless they do something drastic. Anyone who can accept her and her disease is considered a good person to be around, although she can be friendly to an uncomfortable degree. She tries to not let her real feelings be brought to view, and instead keeps things to herself. But, above all, most people she meets automatically label her as insane or unstable, and usually stay away from her.

Introduction: “Oh, ummm, hi and stuff…ummm, I’m Aoife Villariis. Nobody special. I do Pokémon research stuff, and before that I was a pretty serious trainer. Still am I guess…never mind about that, though. On Utropica Island my main goal will be to research the effects of the volcanic eruption on the island and observe the island's Pokémon. I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Umm...then I can record their behavior and create a theory about why they all left and why the population hasn't recovered from the event. Basically, I’m going to find out what happened to the Pokémon on Utropica and then see if I can bring them back. I hope it works out well...”

Pokémon:

Bakphoon (Typhlosion):
Gender: Female
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Lonely

Additional Info: Aoife recently received Arachne as a gift from her mother in commemoration of her work on the research of Bug-type Pokémon.

EDIT: I'll finish editing this by tomorrow. You can look at it while I'm at PAX East.
EDIT AGAIN: @Dieter: How is it NOW? Seriously, I don't want to edit it again.
