Note: I've started this RP two times before, but they both died. The first one was right around the start of school and the ones that had signed up were new to the forums in general and were not that active. The second one failed because it came right during the semester breaks. Then, one member got grounded then another member had something come up so we never were on the same time. Hopefully, things will be different this time. So, here it goes...

Note 2: Have Journey RP's lost their appeal to the normal RP'er? It seems as if people don't want to do them anymore?

THE CHRONICLES: THE KANTO DAYS​

The Pokemon World is full of things to discover. Everyone has their own calling. However, discovering this calling may be a long and rigorous process in which one must travel across the World meeting new people and Pokemon along the way. Eventually, some may find their calling and heed to it while others will choose to quit. Therefore, it is a matter of heart and strength in spirit, mind and body. Only the truly strong succeed, though most start out believing that they will succeed.

And what becomes of those who do heed their calls? Some became Trainers with one common goal: to earn the respect of Pokemon and trainers alike. Their road to success is paved with battles. Others choose to become coordinators to show the elegance of Pokemon.

Whatever it is it is bound to take the person on a hard and tiring journey. A journey full of adventure, happiness and sorrow. A journey where a person bonds with Pokemon and other people to form strong bonds of friendship. Thus, each person looks forward to start their own journey not knowing what fate has in store for them.

These particular chronicles expose the stories of a group of trainers. This particular episode chronicles the journey of the trainers through Kanto.


RULES:
-no Godmodding
-I want this RP to progress through the various regions. At a start of each region, I hope to open up a new SU thread and get 2 more trainers involved. So, for Kanto, I believe that the ideal number is 4-5 trainers. If there are more, I will have a selection process and if you are not chosen you may try for the Johto RP.
-I want to emphasize that whoever joins the RP is expected to be active and get to post at least a few times every day, if not more frequently.
-This RP is going to be more like a democracy. I will have all the members debate on important issues related to the RP and in most cases what the majority says will go (of course there will be times where I will say the final word on a matter)
-Put "Besiktas" somewhere in your SU to indicate that you have read the rules.
-Since this is Kanto, I'd prefer that not too many Unova or Sinnoh Pokemon appear. However, exceptions may be in order depending on the case.

Appearance: Rex is a tall, lightly tanned teenager hailing as a born Cerulean. He is approximately 6"3' and has short brown hair. He has brown eyes, and several tattoos. He is of an athletic build, and always has a suspicious/untrusting look. He always wears shorts, rain or sun. Knee length cargo/surfer shorts accompanied by a baggy hoodie. He almost always wears sneakers, though sometimes he will be seen locally with bare feet. A hat is only worn in the winter, and sunglasses are always found on his head.

Personality: Rex finds it hard to trust anyone apart from his one trusty pokemon. He appears to have no anger, nor any visible emotions. He locks everything away inside himself and doesn't speak to anyone.

His Abra listens, telepathically and has often taken them both places to cheer each other up. Rex is incredibly protective of his Abra, and will ignore and walk away from anyone who even badmouths him.

History: Rex grew up on the cape of Cerulean city, with his grandparents. He knew nothing of his parents, and refused to ask on the principle that "if they cared, they'd be here". He lived with his grandparents until he was 16, when his grandmother passed away. His grandpa was so distrought that he disappeared during the night. Rex had money saved up and bought the house that was his grandmas. He felt his grandpa gave up on him, and that pity soon turned to a fiery vendetta.

He never had any friends growing up, and got bullied for being himself. He was wandering through some tall grass one day, planning to leave Cerulean and move far away, when he noticed something from the corner of his eye. It appeared to be an injured pokemon. It was an abra, helpless, and infront of it were a group of Kadabra, they appeared to be taunting it.

Rex shielded the Abra from stones being psychically thrown by the kadabra with his own body. He endured the pain for what seemed like hours, untill he opened his eyes to a lush green meadow. Abra had teleported them both away from there, but used all of his energy up. So after taking him to the Pokemon centre, Abra teleported himself next to Rex and never left his side.

Rex has no friends or Family left, and blames himself for that. With Abras help he has managed to control his anger, his thoughts, and appears just as calm as him. They are best friends, and have saved each other countless times. After the Kadabra incident, Rex and abra went to travel the world, and to become the pokemon champion. Rex thought it would be a good idea to buy a pokedex from the renowned Prof.oak in Pallet town.

Appearence: Is nearly 5"11', and has black eyes. His long black hair reaches to his waist. Has very pale skin,which only helps to highlight the X-shaped scar on his left cheek. Wears a very old white shirt,which is full of holes. His black jacket helps hide it. He also has a mafia hat and black shoes.

Personality: If there was any word to describe him,it would be strange. He is pretty much of a loner,only traveling in small groups. Despite this,he desperately craves for a friend. He can sometimes be looked at as the guy who would murder you in your sleep, but occasionaly shows his softer side. Is very distrustful of people,and if he is angered he will find a way to get back at you.

History: Rei has always dreamed of going on his journey, but was in a different town on the day of departure. This time he made sure he could make it. His plan is to be the greatest trainer of all time,even devising strategies to any pokemon he might face. Sadly,they always fail. Plans to become the strongest trainer in the world. He tries to stay out of harms way, but is always forced in. When he was born, his dad left him and his mother alone. His mother would always say he was on buisness, but Rei knew better. He knew the only way to find his dad was to go on his pokemon journey.

Pachirhysu will your character be competing in the league or contests? Can you please add that into your sign-up. It depends on how many people we need. Ideally I want 4-5 trainers (including me). At least one has to be competing in the contests.
 
It won't let me edit it on my phone, so ill have to update it this evening on my laptop.

Ill be entering leagues and the occasional contest.

And that's okay, we have 3 so far. Can people not join mid-way?

Actually, there's a reason why I have added a Contest or League selection in the SU form. So, you have to decide between either the contests or the league. Since I want both the league and contest in the RP, I'd rather wait for one coordinator. However, if we don't find anyone in the next two days, then I'll start the RP.

Appearance: Kiki has long Brown hair which goes down to her shoulders. she has white skin and and green eyes. She is about 4'5" and is average weight of that height. She has a Green T- shirt and a brown jacket. She also wears brown pants and brown boots.

Personality: Kiki is a fairly easy going person, who likes to eat, in fact eating is her favorite thing. She Tends not to get upset over much, unless you hurt her friends/pokemon, then she will attack you. She also can have trouble focusing, and will sometimes say random things. She is very loyal to her friends, and looks on the bright side of life.

She also gets very worried that she won't live up to her parents expectations. She really wants to impress them, and is the one thing that she is always serious about. She likes to make jokes, but can sometimes have problems getting them. she's not one hundred percent sure what she wants to do with her life, and can flip flop moods.

History: Kiki was born in Vermilion City, where her parents were workers at a dock. She was able to make a lot of friends, but that couldn't last. much to her dismay, her parents lost their job at the docks during a bad storm season. they had to move to pallet town, where they were found jobs as clerks at a local grocery store.

Because of her loss of old friends, Kiki never tried to make new friends at pallet, fearing that she would lose them. She never really talked to anyone at the school she went to, and focused more on her family. Soon she started wanting to please her parents, who said that she may want to go on a journey. She didn't feel like she would be a good battler, and decided that maybe contests would suit her better.

One day, her father going to Viridian City to deliver and pick up some food. He let Kiki come, as she enjoyed outings like this. while he was talking to the worker. Kiki wondered off towards the north side of town. once there she saw a few boys tossing rocks at a small yellow thing, which was yelping in pain. She got a stick, and chased the boys away. she inspected the little thing, finding that is was a Pichu. after asking, and finding that it had no home, Kiki took him home with her.

If you feel more comfortable with leagues then you can go with leagues. I'm mainly looking for coordinators though. I guess 4 league challengers are fine, but I need at least one coordinator to start.

Starter Pokémon: Slowpoke (Male)

Appearance: AC is 190 cm (which is about 6'2'') and weighs around 82 kg (approximately 180.7 lbs). He has messy, medium length hair. His hair is pitch-black and his hair is quite bushy. His irises are also pitch-black. He does not have any facial hair nor does he want any. His body has a high fat ratio and low muscle ratio. He is not that well-built, but due to his height he does seem thin compared to his actual weight. The majority of his fat is around his thighs.

As for his clothing the following can be said: He has three different outfits that he is comfortable with it. Before leaving Mossdeep to start his journey, he worked in the Space Center. Thus, he has a white labcoat that reaches his feet. Sometimes he is seen with that white labcoat on. His white labcoat has one large pocket over his heart, which he uses to place pens, important cards and other things. In addition, on both sides of his labcoat, near the thighs, are pockets. He usually keeps them empty but he does sometimes use them to keep his only Pokeball. His second outfit is his sports outfit. It consists of a black hoodie with a white eagle (if you say eagles don't exist in the Pokemon World, then think of it as a White-Black colored Braviary) on the back and black sweatpants with three white stripes running down sides. His third outfit is his black suit. It consists of a black top hat with a white stripe, a black blouse and grey tie, a black tux and black pants with black dress shoes. He plans to use his second outfit during his travels (i.e. travelling from town to town). He plans to use his third outfit during his battles as he believes that he needs to look his best when he battles.

Personality: Both of AC's parents work at the Mossdeep Space Center, thus they are barely ever home. What's more is that AC has a younger brother. Since his parents are rarely home, AC had to look after his brother at a very young age. This thought him to be responsible. Furthermore, it thought him to prioritize as he had sacrifice his free time and play time with his friends in order to look after his brother. He learned that duty came before fun. Moreover, since both his parents are scientists, they gave extreme importance to AC's education. Thus, AC's priority as a child was to learn about mathematics, the sciences and other classes rather than Pokemon. Thus, AC did not have the same experience with Pokemon when compared with most of his peers. Instead, he had intimate relations with books from his father's personal library. This resulted with AC being smarter and wiser compared to his peers. Furthermore, all the studying and his perseverance to keep on studying made him extremely determined. This intelligence and wisdom made him someone who everyone looked up to and came to for advice. He became doubly venerable with his radiating smile. He wanted to reciprocate the love he received from his friends, thus he became extremely generous. All in all, he turned into a leader among his peers. However, like every leader, AC also has tragic flaws. First, he still has a cry-baby streak. He sometimes cries when something doesn't go his way. Sometimes he becomes extremely angry and loses his reasoning skills. He starts to yell and can't calm down. His rage is best compared to volcano erupting, however this rage is quite rare. Furthermore, he is not that close with Pokemon which is troublesome for him but through this journey he desires to resolve that problem.

Personal History: AC was born in Mossdeep City to a family of scientists. Both of his parents worked at the Mossdeep Space Center. Thus, as a toddler, he spent his days in the Space Center alongside his parents. Thus, at a young age, he was exposed to the Space Center and the tasks of scientists. As he grew a bit older, he began to go to school. He would spend the morning in school and the afternoon in the Space Center. Soon, his brother was born and at the age of 8, he was responsible of looking after his newly born brother. Thus, he barely had any time for Pokemon. His life consisted of looking after his brother, going to school and spending time in the Space Center.

However, all his friends spent time with their parents Pokemon. This caused a longing for Pokemon within AC, but he knew that his parents would say that his studies come first. Nevertheless, he decided to ask for a Pokemon for his tenth birthday and to his surprise his parents accepted. His father took AC to a batch of grass to catch him a Pokemon. AC told his father that he wanted an Slowking. His father called upon his Alakazam and they began to search for a Slowpoke. They had started the search for a Slowpoke around noon and as the sun set on Mossdeep during the summer day, his father still had not found a Slowpoke. He didn't want to let down his son so he promised AC that he would stay up all night looking for the Slowpoke. AC, too, wanted to watch his father catch a Slowpoke but sleep overcame him and AC went to bed. When he got up to go to school, he was faced with a surprise. Across his bed stood a Slowpoke. His father had kept his promise and caught a Slowpoke. AC was extremely happy. He ran to the Slowpoke and hugged him. Slowpoke had taken a liking to AC right away. This was the start of a brand new friendship. It also marked AC's first interaction with actual Pokemon.

However, AC's parents' restrictions prevented him from pursuing his goal to challenge the Pokemon League and travel the various regions of the Pokemon World. He had to first become a scientist as that was his parents' dream. Thus, he and Slowpoke barely battled but studied together. Sometimes they would practice Slowpoke's moves but that was it. At the age of 13, AC had finished his education. With his intelligence, he began to work as an assistant to the scientists in the Space Center along with his Slowpoke. After four years of assisting scientists, AC was finally allowed to become an actual scientist in the Space Center. His parents were also proud of him as AC had fulfilled their dreams for him at the age of 17. Thus, they allowed AC to start living independently. AC could finally do what he wanted. He talked with the director and told him how he had always wanted to win the Pokemon League and travel the world meeting new Pokemon along the way. His director was also a trainer once and he could easily empathize with AC. Thus, he allowed AC to pursue his dream as a trainer only if he was to comeback and work at the Space Center once his journey was over. AC accepted without hesitation. Thus, with his Slowpoke he set out start his journey to become a Champion. Though he had his Slopwoke for seven years, AC and Slowpoke had no battling experience and thus it was as if AC was going to get to know Slowpoke all over again along with meeting new Pokemon. AC consulted his friends Tate and Liza, the gym leaders of Mossdeep City and they told him that the journey would strengthen his bond with his Slowpoke and teach him true friendship. Thus, he decided to start off by meeting Professor Oak and starting his journey in the Kanto region.

Appearance: James is almost 5 feet tall, with a lean frame. He has short brown hair that hangs messily on his head and brown eyes. On the left side of his face is a scar he got from an encounter with a wild Spearow.

James' clothes are utalitarian for traveling. He wears a short-sleeved red shirt with a gray vest lined with pockets. He also wears black cargo pants and a blue baseball cap.

Personality: James is well-known for his fierce competitive drive. He's not one to shy away from a battle or any other type of challenge. This can sometimes cause him to get in over his head, and he's gotten plenty of bumps and bruises as a result. (Like the scar.) Even so, he still strives to be the best at whatever he sets his mind on.

James also has a powerful sense of honor, and he hates bullies and cheaters. He takes particular joy in delivering retribution to bad guys who hurt him or those he cares about. He goes by the philosophy, "Fool me once, say your prayers."

History: Being from Pallet Town, James hails from the same town as many legendary trainers. Since he was a child, it's been his dream to join such august company in the annals of the Pokemon League. Unfortunately, one of his misadventures led to an accident that put him in the hospital for several weeks, and the following rehab delayed his plans for a journey.

His greatest dream, besides making it to the Pokemon League, has been to battle Lance, the Dragon Master. This has been especially so after seeing the master in a league battle. James found himsel in awe of Lance's Dragonite, and has long wished to command a powerful dragon as well. This is why he plans to start with Charmander for his journey.

Before going off on his journey, James attended the Pokemon Trainers' School in Viridian City, where he scored some of the highest marks in battles with rental Pokemon. He used this to keep his battle senses honed for the real deal.

Other: Despite what his uncle told him, James doesn't think "Besiktas" is a real Pokemon.

Hello. I see that the Start-Up thread has already been posted, but do you still need coordinators? I was hoping I could join this RP but just wanted to clarify that Sign-Ups are definitely still open.
 
I'm in the RP and as far as I'm aware we still need co-ordinators.. We've only made a few posts each so my advice would be to post the SU and you'll more than likely join..

Appearance: Ronny is a rather quiet boy whose appearance matches his personality. He is 5'8'' with dark brown hair and hazel eyes. Ronny's facial features are made up soft textures that meet at a defined jaw bone. According to Ronny's family and friends, he's always been the handsome one of the group, but he counters these comments with modesty.

Ronny is known for always wearing similar outfits each day, as well. He wears bluejeans, that fit comfortably around his waist with a brown belt, along with a short sleeved t-shirt and a hoodie. While his zipper can sometimes be kept up or down, he will almost never put his hood up. So much so that Ronny specifically searches for hoodless sweatshirts on occasion.

Personality: Ronny is a self-proclaimed philanthropist. He is always doing what he thinks is best for his community and helping others even when he knows he won't get recognition for it. While he enjoys doing nice things for others, he can be rather shy and have a bit of trouble making friends unless he feels comfortable in a certain environment. Those who know him, however, will describe him as outgoing and a fun guy to be around.

While these comments never cease to flatter Ronny, he can be extremely modest at times, even going as far as to make a commitment to compliment others whenever they give him a compliment. It had almost become a game between he and his friends to see who would stop complimenting first. While some would normally find this to be rather odd of friends to do, it had become more of a silly gesture over time with simplistic "I like your socks" being thrown back and forth that didn't really mean anything. It was the feeling of friendship in little things like this that make Ronny love the aspect of having friends all around you.

History: Ronny's mother and father were known among his hometown, Lilycove City, as incredible coordinators. That is a huge compliment for somebody growing up in the hub of all coordinating of the Hoenn Region! Due to the successes of his parents, Ronny decided that he wanted to begin coordinating just like his parents had. In order to do this, he knew he needed his first Pokémon. Unlike most people who receive their starter Pokémon as a gift, Ronny was given a Pokéball on his 11th birthday. His parents had decided that if Ronny were to get his first Pokémon, he should have the right to choose, therefore he must catch it himself. With this in mind, Ronny ventured around Lilycove searching for the perfect partner.

Eventually, Ronny feasted his eyes upon one of the most beautiful images he had ever seen. A Clamperl sat upon the shores of Lilycove City, shimmering in the beautiful sunlight. When Ronny approached the little Pokémon, she didn't object to his welcome. Before catching her, Ronny returned to the shores where the Clamperl sat every day. After becoming close friends with the Clamperl, Ronny caught it in his Pokéball and had officially caught his first Pokémon!

When Ronny introduced his starter to his parents, they were immensely proud of the bond that the two shared. After years of training, at the age of 14, Ronny decided that it was time to ask his parents to let Clamperl evolve. They took part in a trade while holding a Deep Sea Scale, successfully evolving Clamperl into a beautiful Gorebyss. From then on, Ronny continued his training and decided he would leave Lilycove City to train to become a coordinator elsewhere, that way when he were to return, he would have much experience to share with his loved ones back in his hometown.

@DracoMan: I'm sorry but we have enough trainers to start with. Hopefully we will have a Johto leg and I'd love to see you there.

@Buzz: Well I'd love to have you on board Buzz and you are in luck as we only have one coordinator. After all, I was inspired by your Pokemon Universe series to start this RP, so please feel free to start posting. Your experience will also help us. Most of us are at Prof. Oak's lab (except for me). It's up to you on how you want to meet up.
