Okay, their is a Church in the Third Gym town?

I remember when Nintendo use to advoid religion all toghether, but now we have a church, in Pokemon nonetheless.

So, is their any point to it? What do they worship?

I'd say...Dialga, Palkia, and Arseus perhaps? Since they're like...gods? Or in Arseus' case, is a god? The stain glass window has the mountain on it.

I wonder if the show will ever touch on it. They haven't had a problem showing religion in the past (the church in the Smeargle episode, Misty's cross in the Maiden's Peak ep), even parodying religion (the Buddhist-type temple where they worshipped Slowpoke).

The Ghost-Type Gym is a cathedral, apparently, so they'll have a hard time side-stepping that in the show.

I meant in case the anime places the battle in a church as well.

It's a church for Dailga/Palkia. The stained glass window in Pearl is same mountain motiff that you see in the intro before Palkia appears.

I'm not sure if Diamond is the same.

Also, Pokemon is unlikely to be really bothered by any new fundies anyway now that the fad is dead. And the ones that were already there continuing their nonsensical ranting isn't going to effect anyone or anything anyway.

Plus, get this.

It's a GAME. :O It's NOT Real. :O

Plenty of games use churches, and the majority of RPGs that use churches/temples etc are all for magic etc, not Christianity, Judaism, Islam, etc. This is because it is a fictional world, with fictional characters, who lead fictional lives and have fictional beliefs.

(It's also the Fifth Gym town, you have to pass by it to the other 2 Gyms first, and there's a big statue of either Dailga or Palkia outside of the city as well).

I know, it was just surprising that's all. lol

EDIT: I was wondering why the Gym was empty.
