Content is not organised by posting date, and reading them in the order linked is more coherent than doing so by the date posted. Chapter Summaries​

Plot: The story follows the quest of Galen, a boy who used to be part of the circus with his parents, until his father disappeared unexpectedly, and his mother died shortly after. He leaves the circus to embark on a quest to uncover his family's secrets, and find out what exactly happened to his parents.

Genre: Adventure/Mystery/Journey.

Protagonists: Galen Danforth, Seer.

Supporting Characters: Mr. Yarlott, Raven Faeth, Ilanit Faeth, Oceanrule.

Antagonists: Prof. Oak.

History

The Circus​

Three members founded the Circus one year after Mr. Yarlott’s loss at the Indigo Plateau. These were Mr. Quivers, Mr. Gam, and Mr. Yarlott. Shortly after forming it, they began scouting for members, and found four, bringing the total members from three to seven in six months, and then they began touring Kanto and performing various shows. Mr. Quivers passed away at a young age due to an accident, causing the circus’ entire plans to halt.

During the time it took them to regroup and plan their next moves, two young boys joined them, and Mr. Yarlott married a woman, one of the four members that joined them at the start of the circus. During their second tour, Mrs. Yarlott gave birth to a girl and named her Raven, and several others joined the circus.

A few years later, the circus went on a break for a year, in which they reorganised their shows and line-up, and incorporated Pokémon into the performances. One of the two young boys who joined the circus early on became Mr. Yarlott’s right hand, and he took on the nickname Oceanrule.

During the third tour, the circus merged with another small circus, causing their fame to spread across Kanto. They toured for many years, during which Raven married a man and took his last name, Faeth. She gave birth to a girl and named her Ilanit. The circus continued touring as their members grew and exceeded fifty members, after which they decided it was time for another break to reorganise the line-up once more.

During the break, the Danforth family joined the circus. Mrs. Yarlott and Mr. Gam died in their early 70s, and Raven’s husband left the circus, though Raven refused to go with him and kept Ilanit with her. Fifteen years later, following the death of Mr. Yarlott, ownership of the circus was transferred to Raven, as neither Mr. Quivers nor Mr. Gam left any descendants.

Mr. Yarlott​

Stories: What History Hides [Appearance].

Age: 86 [Deceased].

Gender: Male.

Personality: Mr. Yarlott likes to keep an aura of mystery around him, and he rarely speaks to anyone, including his family. But even though he doesn’t express many emotions, his care for the members of the circus exceeds his will to live.

Appearance: A slender and tall man. His hair is white, and he lost sight in both his eyes. He wears a traditional 1700s suit with a long top hat, and carries a cane with him to help him move around.

Family: Mrs. Yarlott [Wife], Raven Faeth [Daughter], Ilanit Faeth [Granddaughter].

Profession: Pokémon Trainer [Previously], Circus Manager [Previously].

Galen Danforth​

Stories: What History Hides [Appearance].

Age: 17.

Gender: Male.

Personality: Galen would do anything to get what he needs. Everything that stands in his way must either be pushed aside or destroyed, and he makes sure that anyone who wrongs him is not forgotten.

Appearance: An average boy with black hair and eyes. He wears the circus outfit his mother knitted and saved for him to use when he grows up, which composes of a vibrant clash of black and crimson, with various stitched patterns running up the jacket. He inherited his shoes from his father, and their colours were the ones Galen's mother based the outfit on.

Family: Lars Danforth [Father], Maeve Smera Danforth [Mother].

Profession: Backstage Assistant in a Circus [Previously], Pokémon Trainer [Now].

Ilanit Faeth​

Stories: What History Hides [Appearance].

Age: 16.

Personality: She follows her mother's orders without a question, and condemns any action that might cause some trouble in the circus. Ilanit hopes to lead the circus as she grows up.

Appearance: She has long blonde hair, and piercing green eyes. Her dress is a floral pink one, but changes to a white and black Dancewear when performing.

Family: Raven Faeth [Mother], Mr. Yarlott [Grandfather].

Profession: Ballet Dancer.

Raven Faeth​

Stories: What History Hides [Appearance].

Age: 42.

Personality: Raven is very faithful to her father, and she inherited his great care for the circus. She also places raising her daughter to become responsible as a priority, as Ilanit is the second in line to inherit the Circus.

Appearance: Her hair is long and blonde, which her daughter inherited. She has hazel eyes, and wears a variety of dresses.

Family: Ilanit Faeth [Daughter], Mr. Yarlott [Father].

Profession: Pokémon Trainer [Previously], Ballet Dancer & Doctor [Previously], Doctor & Circus Manager [Now].

Oceanrule​

Stories: What History Hides [Appearance].

Age: 59.

Personality: Oceanrule is a very caring person, and like Mr. Yarlott, regards the circus' members own benefit higher than his own life. He is very energetic, and acts as if he had never aged.

Appearance: Oceanrule is a bald short man wearing a sailor's outfits. He is muscular, and maintains a healthy body weight.

Family: Unknown.

Profession: Sailor [Previously], Mr. Yarlott's Assistant & Arcanine Wrestler [?].

Prof. Oak​

Stories: What History Hides [Appearance].

Age: Unknown.

Gender: Male.

Personality: He is very rude, and looks down on all young people. He prides power and fame over anything else.

Appearance: A short man with hair that spikes up on either end of his head. He wears a lap coat, and is grinning most of the time.

Family: Unknown.

Profession: Pokémon Professor.

Seer​

Age: 17.

Gender: Male.

Personality: Has very flexible loyalties. Seer is very cautious of his identity, and the success of whatever job he is doing. He is mostly kept to himself, with unknown intentions.

Appearance: A tall boy with red hair, and red lazy eyes. He wears a purple tracksuit that extends to his neck, and even covers a part of his chin.

Family: Unknown.

Atrex​

Stories: What History Hides [Appearance].

Owner: Mr. Yarlott [Previously], Raven Faeth.

Species: Alakazam.

Gender: Female.

Personality: Atrex is very loyal to Mr. Yarlott and all of his family. Despite her old age, she is willing to push herself to any means necessary to achieve her goals.

History: Mr. Yarlott caught Atrex as an Abra very early on his journey. By the end, she became an Alakazam, and one of Mr. Yarlott's strongest Pokémon. She was the only Pokémon who chose to remain with her trainer when he decided that a life of travelling and battling wasn't for him, and was in the circus since it first started.

Swirl​

Stories: What History Hides [Appearance].

Owner: Galen Danforth.

Species: Squirtle.

Gender: Male.

Personality: So far, Swirl has displayed very few aspects of his personality. In many situations, he was cowardly, and didn't fight even when his Trainer was in danger. While the rest of his personality seems to reflect that of a baby Pokémon.

History: Swirl was given to Galen by Prof. Oak to help him fulfil his part of the agreement in becoming the Champion. The name Swirl was given to him by Galen.

Grimer​

Stories: What History Hides [Appearance].

Owner: Galen Danforth.

Species: Grimer.

Gender: Male.

Personality: Grimer has shown no personality trait other than being protective of his territory, like most wild Pokémon.

History: Grimer was caught by Galen after it was knocked unconscious by Oak. He has never used him since.

WHH - Summaries

What History Hides​

§1: Imposters: While searching for a clue in the Pokémon Mansion on what happened to his parents, Galen is attacked by a Grimer. Defenceless, he is saved by Prof. Oak, who gives Galen a Squirtle and the Grimer that attacked him as a start of an agreement; Galen must become the Champion, then hand the position to Oak if he wishes to know about what happened to his parents.

§2: The Seer: Galen meets Seer, a freelancer hired by Oak in order to make sure that he will remain on the path to becoming a Champion. The pair distrust each other, but agree that they have to travel together if they were to get what they want.

§3: In The Shadows: In the depths of Viridian Forest, Galen encounters a mysterious girl while searching for firewood. She reveals that she has some knowledge regarding Galen's parents, as well as accusing Seer of hiding the truth, making Galen's distrust of his travel partner grow deeper.

§4: Chasing For Ghosts: Galen's second encounter with the mysterious girl turns violent as she further provokes him about his parents. After a few minutes of losing his consciousness, Galen starts running after the girl to catch her, eventually emerging in an open field where Seer was seemingly waiting for him, ready to take care of his wounds.

§5: Compromised: After leaving Galen unconscious during their second encounter, the girl had confronted Seer and admitted to meeting Galen , leaving Seer worried about the safety of someone's life. And after Galen regained consciousness and eventually met Seer in the clearing, the pair admitted to keeping secrets from each other, while Seer told Galen that, unlike the girl, he was not trying to kill him.

§6: A Life Behind: Searching all over Kanto, Ilanit finally finds Galen, and informs him of her grandfather's death. Seer insisted on not leaving Galen alone, and with the help of Atrex, the group teleports to Lavender Town, where Mr. Yarlott's funeral was going to be held.

The Yarlott Family​

Members: Mr. Yarlott [Deceased], Mrs. Yarlott [Deceased], Raven Faeth [Living], Ilanit Faeth [Living], Oceanrule [Living].

History: Mr. Yarlott started as a Pokémon trainer, but he had given up the quest after he lost to the Champion. He started the Circus, and Mrs. Yarlott and Oceanrule joined in that order. He married Mrs. Yarlott, and the pair gave birth to a girl they named Raven. While not related to any member of the family, Oceanrule became an adoptive member, taking care of Raven, and being one of the most trusted members of the Circus. At twenty-six years of age, Raven married and gave birth to a daughter that she named Ilanit, and shortly after that, the father had left the Circus, but Raven refused to accompany him. Ilanit could never remember her grandmother, as she had passed when Raven's daughter was quite young, and almost fifteen years later, Mr. Yarlott passed away.

The Danforth Family​

Members: Lars Danforth [?], Maeve Smera Danforth [Deceased], Galen Danforth [Living].

History: Lars and Meave met when the former had been on his journey. Even though she wasn't a trainer, Meave insisted on joining him in his travels, and a few years later, the pair had gotten married and had a child. The family kept on travelling until they came across the Circus. They joined the group, and remained there for the rest of their lives. Meave was poisoned and killed, while Lars travelled away shortly before that, prompting their son, Galen, to try and solve the mysteries surrounding the events.

Personality: Aside from being obedient to his trainer, Koffing has shown no personality.
