Jakku sat slumped at his desk.
He yawned, and got up, walking downstairs to the door of the inn, and looking out.
The square was fairly full, excepting the clear area in the middle.
Of course, this was where the portals appeared.
A stall collapsed due to unearthly lightning, and sparks flew as a few more opened.
"Cyborg! New portals' opened! Maybe that means more customers!"

Jakku's robotic twin nodded, and opened both doors to the largest building in the square.

Jakku went back to his office, humming to himself absent mindedly.

Cyborg Ebansu walked behind the counter, and watched the square unflinchingly.

"Oh, come on!" Jeremy yelled as he woke up in an unfamiliar place AGAIN. Growling, he scanned the area around him and figured that he was in an inn. So he sharpened his saber, refilled his water cannon, adjusted his hat, and walked downstairs.

Ragna landed right on his butt when he went through the portal. "Damn it! i'm tired of all of these portals! He picked up his sword,(azure grimoire), and looked around. He saw a normal city, and a Large home in front of him. the awning said, INN. He decided to go inside since he had no where else to go. When Ragna entered, he saw a normal-looking guy monitoring the front desk. "uh, hi, can i stay here for the day and night? i just came from some freakish portal."

Blackness. That was all he saw after a while.

The memories were faint for a time. Then he remembered. Mario and his blasted party. They had destroyed him. He wouldn't be surprised if he was dead right about now.

He then was seemingly shot out of...something, and was sent tumbling across the ground. That definitely woke him up. The figure then started to rise. He saw...buildings? Canals? What was this?

He turned around to see what appeared to be portal right behind him, before it shrunk and disappeared. Had he been sent out of that portal?

The figure looked around him. He wasn't dead. He had cheated death. The grin started reappearing on his masked face. Dimentio, master of illusions, was alive.

Galacta Knight. He was a formidable adversary, but alas, he was also defeated. The title of greatest warrior in the galaxy was not enough. He needed more opponents. And hopefully this portal would give him some.

Surely enough, when Meta Knight flew out of the portal with bat-like wings, he saw various people walking through the streets, as well as others going across what appeared to be canals. His expression might have been stoic, but he was enthusiastic. Warriors from all worlds, gathered here. And he would prove himself to be the best out of all of them.

Gary opened his eyes and looked around. What the hell? This wasn't-
"What the hell?" he muttered, looking around the mysterious town square.
He let go of Tai's hand and took off his goggles.
"We're here Tai. Thing is, i'm not sure where here is."
He put a pale hand on the rim of his tophat and sniffed his surroundings.
"Smells poor."
He sniffed again.
"I smell a time paradox of unbelievable power. Just what is this place?" he asked no one in particular.

"Kon'nichiwa, Ebansu ryokan e yōkoso. Yoru no yado wa ni jū doru, matawa moyori no tōka ni narimasu."
Cyborg Ebansu said cheerfully.
Noting the strange look, he tried again.
"Twen...teee... Money... Night?"

{Tai}
"Well that was fun."

She grinned, shoving her skateboard under her feet.

"Let's do something. With guns."

...if there even was anything particularly exciting to do here with a gun.

Jeremy walked downstairs and saw Jakku. He assumed that he was the innkepper or something.

"Hi...uh...do you know why I'm here?" he asked.

Ragna had a puzzled look on his face and took some money out of his pocket. a nice crisp twenty dollar bill was handed to the wierdo in front of him. "yeah, okay....." he then looked the other way and found a seat.

Jakku got up from his desk.
"Ah, hello. You must have drifted from the usual portal landing zone. Do you remember a portal, or a big white light...? Well, that's what brought you here. The City between Worlds. We have people from every possible world here. Mind out for your parallel selves... I've seen it happen."

Cyborg Ebansu smiled, and deposited the money in the register.
He tossed room keys over to Ragna.
"Rooo....M... tooo?"
He said, picking over each word.

Dimentio looked around blearily. He then noticed what appeared to be a robot of some sort. With a problem speaking English. He also saw someone who was at least a little more intelligent. "I do believe that I am not understanding a word that is coming out of those speakers," he said in a refined voice. "I'm simply a honeybee, trying to find his way back to his hive. And also to deal with some pesky invaders that are assailing said hive." His speech pattern would be able to confuse people easily.

Cyborg Ebansu looked at him blankly.
"...Room?"

Ragna started to get frustrated at the cyborg and said,"yes, of course! what else would i be paying for?TO HEAR YOUR ANNOYING VOICE?!" He stooped himself, and calmed back down. "i'm sorry about that."

Cyborg nodded.
He passed Ragna the keys, and turned to Dimentio.
"You... buy... rooom....?"

Jakku folded his arms.
"I know it seems confusing. Basically, worlds are connected by portals sometimes, and this is the bit inbetween. There's a city outside, so feel free to explore. We offer rooms here, if you happen to have money in your world. Ask my cyborg duplicate downstairs for information on that."

ragna glared at the cyborg. he took the keys from it and atarted walking up the stairs and toward his room.

Dimentio shook his head. "Your artificial intelligence is clearly not the best of your kind."

"City Between Worlds, you say?" he asked Jakku. "Reminds me of Flipside. Well, I suppose that there is an infinite of possibilities when it comes to dimensions. I would know better than almost anyone."

Meta Knight just then noticed the robot. As well as the oddly dressed figure who spoke in riddles. At least, it seemed like it. "Who are you?" he asked the figure, brandishing Galaxia. This person looked quite suspicious.

Dimentio turned his attention to Meta Knight. "Ah, another visitor. Well, I suppose I have yet to introduce myself. How impolite. I am Dimentio, master of illusions, as well as Count Bleck's former servant. You have heard of him, yes?"

"Not a word," Meta Knight replied. "I am Meta Knight. I reside from a world named Dream Land, and I am also the strongest warrior in the galaxy. My galaxy, at least."

"Ah, a noble knight, wishing to challenge warriors from other worlds, other universes, to prove his strength. How poetic. That could easily be a best-selling novel," Dimentio said.

Meta Knight shook his head and sheathed his sword. "I don't have time for banter," he said plainly, before walking away.

"Hm. Such an interesting individual," Dimentio said to himself. At this point, he had completely forgotten about Jakku and the robot.

Ame, got to her feet appearing in another alley, haunting memories. She shook her head, hoping it would shake them away, and rushed deeper into the town centre where she saw the inn. If she ever wanted to find her parents she'd have to stay a few minutes she walked inside, where she saw a cyborg standing, a man just took some keys from it and had walked away.

Ragna opened the door to his room with his keys and looked around. It was nothing special, really. It was a normal-sized bed with a matress, some carpeting, a nightstand, a bathroom, a microwave, a small fridge, and a small tv. Ragna closed the door, put Azure grimoire on the ground, and flopped onto his bed.
