I don't see much difference yet. They definitely added a lot more flowers along that early route (which is certainly welcome), but as for changes to the overall color balance and lighting ... if it's genuinely improved, then yes that will be quite cool.

My guess is that USM happens on another season from SM. I don't quite live on a tropical region to be able to tell what kind of grass that color would be from which season, but USM definitelly is going to happen on spring, as it seems. Which is perfect to me. Lot'sa colors, and as it is on a game, I won't be getting 3 sinusites and have to take a bunch of antibiotics.
Anyway, colors! They are definitelly cool.

I love the color of the dirt path. It's a very nice contrast to the green grass. And the grass seems to have a bit more of a yellow green than a blue green which I prefer. I don't like blue greens... and more flowers are always a plus!

I suspect that nobody's talking about it because it's just, you know... a minor aesthetic bump. We see it in pretty much all subsequent games in any generation.

Anyway, it does look nice, although personally I think I prefer the version from SM. That one is a little easier on my eyes.

I see it, I just don't care. It's aesthetics, not really something that's discussion worthy or purchase worthy. Show me actual new areas or changes to the design of an area (in more than just a handful of places in the region) and then we'll talk.

Tbh, I just want the colors of the models of many pre-Gen 6 Pokemon to be less faded/washed out.

EDIT: Tbh, unpopular opinion, Gen V is better graphical style than Gen VI.
