So, Pokemon Black and White introduced this nifty new feature called the critical capture. It's when you toss a Pokeball and it makes a different sound than before, then it shakes once, and bam, the Pokemon is caught. A critical capture almost always successfully captures a Pokemon (it can fail, but this is very rare from what I've heard, even on legendaries), but it happens as rarely as a Pokemon's move deals a critical hit, at least from what I've heard.

This thread is to talk about the critical captures you've gotten so far. Sadly, I haven't gotten a single one yet (which makes it hard for me to believe that it's as common as critical hits). D:

I've gotten quite a few of them. I had a few of them fail, too...I think it was because their health wasn't low enough.
 
I had a bunch in the past couple days... Quick balls mostly, on lowbie stuff in White Forest. Aron was one I remember, but there were some other, crummier captures for dex completion where I had it happen as well.
 
They are very common for me surprisingly, as just the other day I was catching a load of Pokemon on Route 13 and I got four of them (not in a row) out of the 12 captures I made. I haven't been counting how many I've had since starting the games, but I would probably say about 10 of them at the least, which makes me think that they are not that rare to come across.
 
I've gotten three total:

First on an Axew, I was pretty surprised when it happened.

Next on Reshiram: I didn't want to lower its HP at all and so I just tossed Pokéballs at it. Got a CC on my third Luxury Ball.

Lastly was an Emolga, again I didn't want to KO it by accident, so I just tossed 'balls until I got a CC.
 
I have NEVER got one. Or was that the Quick Ball at the Virizon? Not sure.
 
They are common for me. I caught a Cubchoo (now my Beartic), Reshiram, Tornadus and a Fraxure with critical captures.
 
Mine only shook once and then it registered. Does that count? It was a Shelmet.

Just got another one.
 
That sounds like a critical capture, so yeah, it should count.
 
I was always wondering if that was normal cuz i have gotten several of those... i thought i was going insane!! :lol:
 
I've gotten a few, most notably one against Landorus that failed to capture him. I was really upset because I had borrowed someone's Tornadus to summon Landorus and wanted to get him as soon as possible.
 
I've had many critical captures so far including two of them happening in a row.
